#Pompey to ask FL for permission to bring in loans with up to 7 players out for Barnsley match. Leaving him with squad of 11.

Wow. Unbelievable...:uhoh:

haha No way they aren't making up some of those injuries as a way to try and persuade the FL.

Here is the list for tomorrow in Court 10 (of the Rolls Building) before MRS JUSTICE PROUDMAN. There are a number of cases (10 ?) before the Cheats FC so could it be delayed until the afternoon (?).

http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/courts/hearing-lists/list-cause-rolls.htm

But if someone went to court and caused a bit of an upset it could be put off until Monday or Tuesday afternoon :)

And how exactly do they propose to pay those players, I mean have they actually paid the ones they already have yet?

My thoughts entirely, they keep on bringing up the fact that they only have 14 or so players, but they are players that they cannot afford to pay, therefore they should not be allowed to use them.

Etuhu, Lawrence, Norris and Varney out. Halford, Ward and Rocha big doubts. Leaves 11 fit outfield #Pompey players including Kanu & Webster.

Hmmmm.. I suggest they play their academy players.. oh wait, they got sent home didn't they?! Quality over Quantity really isn't working for them is it?!

She was more inclined toward a literal and not a commercial *reading

I'd say that's exactly what's required here. Stick to the letter of the law and they'll have no chance, none of this 'football is a special case' nonsense.....

They are angling for a postponement of the Barnsley game aren't they? "Can't bring in any loans and all our team are injured - give us a break and postpone the game. If they all had flu you would let us do it. Come on, postpone the game."

If they can't afford the bus to Barnsley how can they play the game? But not to pay the game without prior FL approval would have a mega-impact ...

Middlesbrough done that once for an away game at Blackburn. Got docked 3 points. Was the difference between them going down and us staying up. Oh the irony :D

They couldn't even do that as they don't own the car park!!

The snappy repartee and comic timing on here is great.

Honourable mention to Panda who must be a slower typist..

Farlington sports ground doesn't have a gate (or not in my day) so they could train there and change in their cars..

Mrs Justice Proudman has shown in the past that she is not averse to handing out bankruptcy orders, even to parties who are not 'hopelessly insolvent'..

COYMJP..

So, is she good or bad? Can't work it out from the above.

Do what my amateur womens 3rd division regional team do and borrow a couple of minibuses. It's hard financing an amateur team but we still had a physio at last night's friendly. I doubt Pompey could afford that!

I`m sure this will motivate the players!

Maybe that's why a few of them are suddenly 'injured'.

"What this case demonstrates is that it is important to establish tests for determining whether the debtor is “hopelessly insolvent” at the first instance court"

Seems that Mrs Justice Proudman has previous in not letting hopelessly insolvent chancers offering promises of future but incertain funding (ie fairy tale accounting) get past her.

Lets hope she is sharp on Friday. Do us Proud Maam.

Or if there was a false fire alarm triggered or such like. That would be dreadfully unlucky.

You mean, if somebody were to contact the police and allude to the possibility that there may or may not be some kind of explosive device hidden somewhere on the premises, meaning they would have to evacuate the building while they conducted a thorough, room-by-room search? Yes, that would be extremely unfortunate for the Phew wouldn't it. ;)

Of course I don't mean that. Just thinking that someone might have a sneaky fag in the toilets. For the record, I'm a non-smoker.

Is anyone sad enough to do a summary of the key point throughout this whole saga? I for one would appreciate it. There's been so many downs and further downs (no ups, that's for sure) that it's so hard to keep up, and I think it's the kind of thing I'd like to put on my wall at work to keep me motivated. :)

Well they are creditors. The only way in which they are a special case is via the football creditors rule, which is a football rule, not a law. So if the club is liquidated and thus there is no need to persuade the FL to give them their golden share to play, the players join the rest of the queue with no preferential treatment.

As do the other clubs waiting for their transfer fees etc --even the small aussie clubs waiting for their share of the money from the only transfer out on deadline day. (Notice how this fee is magically part of PFC's cash flow and assets, but the fact that most of it is actually someone else's money is ,typically, ignored.

As sidesplittingly hilarious as that would be, I doubt it would happen... they will probably wind up a string of companies at once without consideration just so they can hear poor old plucky poopey.

She will let them go into administration I can imagine, what with the Prime Minister getting unwittingly dragged into the mess after Ms.Mordants little stunt... FFS

How unbelievably sweet would it be for Nicola to go to the press and say he is willing to offer PFC 3 SFC Academy players for 1 month FOC.

Or perhaps we could kindly offer their talented youngsters a chance to come and make their trade at our magnificent academy.

Last time round we basically let them have the tickets to SMS for free as a kind gesture by our chairman Cortese, maybe this time we could humiliate them some more, and pick up the players in an SFC coach?

Or the fans do a bucket collection, MAX donation 1penny... the 300 odd quid they get could be given to Ben Haim, or they could buy a new lawn mower for Moneyfields...

If they have academy lads, they must play them.

It's what Coventry have had to do with Conor Thomas, Gael Birgirimana, Cyrus Christie, Shaun Jeffers, Jordan Clarke, Josh Ruffles, Callum Wilson and Nathan Cameron.

Coventry havn't been crying foul to the football league over how they are short on squad members after their sales, they've brought in the kids and got on with it. If the Skates get away with that again then it will just cement what an absolute disgrace they are.

"Absolute disgrace that the football league are giving other teams an unfair advantage when no one at the club has done anything wrong .How can you force a team to compete in a league with only 12 players"

Just found this on a skate board - they just don't get it do they?

Thing is no one is forcing them to compete, they can just jack it in and start over in the local leagues and do everyone else a favour.

Mind you a lot of our supporters didn't 'get it' either.Kept going on campaigns and marches and stuff because the team was crap, the managers were crap and Rupert was trying to save money by not playing their idle idols to save appearance fees.

Skate supporters should be forced to watch us in one of our crappier matches, one with Molyneux and Lancashire in the team, they'd understand what a team with no money looks like.

@solentsport

#pompey tell @solentsport that they have no funds to pay for a scan that captain Liam Lawrence needs on an injury.

Tell him to pay it himself...the s*d gets £20k a bloody week.

Oh.

Do they not have insurance to cover medical expenses? Oh yes, DFCSB aren't like normal clubs...

Insurance becomes invalid if you don't pay the premiums.

Come to think of it , are the players properly insured against serious injury? Is that handled by the PFA or the club? What if one had a career-ending injury against Barnsley?

I hope they have plenty of kitchen foil and some flasks to put their butties and soup in, because they won't be able to afford a meal or a snack on the way up.

If they can't afford a coach they can take their own cars and share costs by squeezing three along the back seat and putting all their kit into one bag.
