Scottish FA can be pretty harsh though. Didn't Dundee (or Dundee United) get -25 for going into administration last year?

Edit - Yes, it was Dundee in November 2010. -25 points

Repeat offenders it was their second admin in 7 years.

Rangers will initially be deducted 10 points, after that it will have to be seen what happens but Ist time offenders is always the same -10.

Has anyone else started to feel the same as me with regard to Pompey, I just don't feckin care what is going on down there anymore and just wish the whole thing and they would go away.

Past caring really - Although I would want them to stay in business until the end of the season at least - Just want the opportunity to tonk them at SMS...

Nah..if their results are expunged from the record we gain 5 points on West Ham

but they'd have a further game in hand

They'd be on 51 with 17 to play (I think) and we'd be on 54 with 15 to play.

However if we should beat them tomorrow and then Pompey's results were expunged, well they might as well give us the title trophy already.

Does anyone know if they will get more than -10? They deserve to! I could be wrong but is it -10 plus any extra at the leagues discretion?

repeat offenders....they'll get more if the Football League and the Premier league aren't considered as separate entities.

I mean a company that hasn't even started paying off it's last admin settlement going into admin again...nah that's curtains but it won't happen cos it's Pompey.

So it looks like they're going to use the advance parachute money to fund administration instead of using it to pay back HMRC...

Probably gives them a slightly better chance of survival, IF permission to enter admin is granted.

Considering their problem is day to day cash-flow, rather than repayments on debt, I'm not sure how it'd help though.

They won't get it. It will go to pay the salaries owed.

Yep.

Even if they've got the full £2.5m advanced as some reports say, this buys them just over 1 month!

Their wage bill is circa £1.6m per month, and the tax due on that amount is another £800k! So they need £2.4m PER MONTH just to continue trading!

I guess admin is their last chance saloon! One month, possibly strung out to two and they HAVE to have a buyer signed sealed and delivered by that time or else they will run out of money again - and that's before the CVA payment due in April!

All admin will do is add another 500 pages to this thread before the inevitable happens :D

Sopposed to make it more attractive to a buyer as it will be cheaper

Can Pompey pay the police etc in time for tomorrows match?

Depends if they paid them after the last match. You only get 7 days credit off them and they won't turn up if they haven't been paid from the last time.

Could be another excuse to get a game postponed and blame someone else.

They would have to play the game - just behind closed door..... no fans!

How's this for an absolute nightmare scenario

Rangers go Pop

Celtic realise there's no money to be made in continuing without them in SPL.

Celtic owners buy Pompey, avoiding WUP and admin

Close season change kit to green and white hoops All Celtic first teamers transfer to Pompey in exchange deal for all Pompey first teamers going other way.

Portsmouth start next season as a reasonable team in Championship backed by Celtic money and all Celtic fans worldwide who realise they are now Celtic in all but name

Cletic still win SPL using their reserves (previously known as Pompey)

Arrrrrrghhhh I want to wake up

For those that have followed this thread for so long, there has been the distinct lack of a single word - "Justice".

Todays news brings that a little bit closer and will see the very first punishment that has any bearing or impact on the club and if there really is any justice it will be minus 25, with relegation nailed on.

Today is a good day and even a little conspriacy theory to throw in;

What if chinny actually wants them to be relegated?..............

I think it was "Hatch" that focused on the wording of the CVA and the empahsis of payments due as long as the club were in the Championship. What if he is right and they no longer beholden to the CVA if they are in League One......alll that lovely parachute money would go to er um....HIM.

Get to work on that one trousers :) :)

I was wondering that too. Or can anyone else try to stop it?

would it really be in their best interests to do this?

And I feel sorry for the workers at the cub and those associated with it that have mortgages and live month to month as most of us do who are genuinely suffering tonight through lack of payment. They represent the harsh reality of the sorry state the club has gotten itself into.

In all honesty there will only be about half a dozen old bill anyway for that match, however if they do go in admin then you'll have acouple of thousand 'Mr Angry' types so they may go for a few more. Wonder what Pompey fan Supt Burrows thinks......???

They would have to play the game - just behind closed door..... no fans!

It will interesting to see WHO has put Pompey into Admin and indeed whethr they will be able tojustify and explain their funding. The advance of the parachute payments miught keep them going for a month but if they get an "Honest Administrator" then he should immediately offload all the high earners by cancelling their contracts. Now that would be funny as they would have to play their kids........Oops I forgot they let them go !!!!

Wow On nights this week, go to bed at 7am get up & all hells broken loose again. LOL

So if I read this right then it looks like they may be about to go into administration, paid for by advance parachute payments.

If HMRC don't challenge their admin again? which is a big if. Can anyone remember how much our admin cost. Looks to me like it may just be a months worth there? Just keeps the hilarity going a bit longer.

They should have enough cash lying around to pay the police shouldn't they? I mean to full houses(Cough cough) paid for & no cash back for tickets at the last postponed game That should cover the police bill. Are they opening the whole ground for this weeks pack the park or is it another pack at least 3/4 of the park.

Last time the HMRC appealed against the admin and the judge stated that they had been trading whilst insolvent for a long time but gave them an adjournmet as there was alegedly a buyer in the wings and Peter valued the squad at some fantastic figure. That implies that there was another option. That they were not sufficiently funded to enter admin and the WUP could continue.

This is exactly why I, and lots of other team's fans, have no symathy for them. They haven't learnt their lesson from last time.

Instead of trying to resolve their problems by moving on the high earners, and building side that doesn't cost a huge percentage of their turnover to run, they've gone and bought more sh*t players on massive wages, and gone with the approach of 'someone will buy us before we go bust, all will be fine. Let's sign another 32 year old on £38k p/w'.

They deserve a proper punishment. One that will guarantee relegation at the very least.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11674/7518948/Pompey-to-enter-administration

Financially-crippled Portsmouth are to enter administration, with a club advisor confirming that an application to court is imminent.

Pompey's monetary troubles in recent times have been well documented, with the club set to be forced into administration for the second time in as many years.

The Championship outfit are facing a winding-up hearing over an unpaid tax bill and have been unable to pay their players and staff for January.

Drastic action is now set to be taken, with the club facing up to the prospect of incurring another 10-point penalty.

Peter Kubik, of the club's financial advisors UHY Hacker Young, said: "They are in the process of seeking an administration order - an application to court seeking administration is due to go in any day.

"The club's bank accounts have been frozen due to the winding up hearing and they are finding it very difficult to trade. Once the administration order is in place the bank accounts will be made accessible again.

"We are aware that administration carries an automatic 10-point deduction by the Football League."

By "they" I assume he means the club (rather than HMRC), i.e. Lampitt ?

HAHAAAAAA

Talksport just said that amongst other things, Southern Electric are threatening to cut them off....

Lampitt, you need to walk pal.

Brilliant. I work for Southern Electric, based in Portsmouth. Out of the 60+ electricians I work with, there are 2 of us saints fans. Myself and the lad I stand with at SMS. The rest are mostly skates. I'll take great pleasure out of this happening if it does
