On the subject of the best interest of HMRC she is making the common mistake of thinking that their decisions about dealing with one football club only affect that football club. HMRC may lose the money they are owed by having portsmouth liquidated but they have, one assumes, factored in the effect it will have on other clubs considering going behind on their tax. It is exactly the same as any other business, if HMRC were seen to be lenient then it would encourage others to see how much they could get away with.

Also does she know if pompey have requested a meeting with HMRC to discuss the tax problems? Surely it is something they could do without having to bring the PM into the discussions.

Just got an email back!

"No, I do NOT want to meet up with you, you sound like an axe murderer. In answer to your other question, my panties are pink, and I've been wearing them for three days now. Please send me your mailing address and I will send them to you."

I think it's a trap, she'll send the cops round here!

Fair play to Cameron for replying so quickly though

That letter is dishonest. In one sentence she says staff are working without pay so there will be no more debt to HMRC. As league regulations say all football debt has to be paid there will have to be further debt. I can't believe that the staff are working for nothing with no end date. If PFC can't pay wages they can't pay HMRC either. Insolvent.

[h=6]In such times of worldwide recession and an, eagerly executed, austerity drive by the current Government how can you, as a member of that Government, even consider intervening in the matter between HMRC and a badly run business in an effort to save that business? The tax is owed and, with your husband being an HMRC employee, you really are betraying his work and the aid to our country raised by HMRC from Taxes. Yet you support a scheme which rides roughshod over the well being of millions of Public Sector Workers by attacking their wages, pensions and conditions. The only positive point for me is that slowly and surely your ConDemolition will eventually make yourselves unelectable. Only the good Lord knows if there will be anything salvageable at that point!

Rather disturbingly I e-mailed Lady Penelope this afternoon to complain as a tax-payer for her support for the DFCSBs, and the only response I received was a request for my address. Either a) my eloquent prose stirred something in her ample bosom & I've pulled or b) I'm going to get a beating from a couple of posh bovver-boys when I go to put the bin out. If I'm not back on here by 9am either call the police or my wife.

I may be a bit thick here but I thought HMRC were trying to work with PFC. But Pfc were not playing ball let alone paying the bill. The lady needs to do more research before asking silly questions . What a waste of PMQT . Cameron has done me know favours re my voting intentions either

It's got to be SNP Mike.

HMRC have already been done out of nearly £30 million due to the last unpaid tax bill. I know it got reduced by way of a CVA while rich players and clubs take their 100% but as that CVA has not really been serviced yet you can understand HMRC being peeved.

Also what other business hits hard times and takes administration which then enables them to get a reduced tax bill? Doesnt the Tax man get 100% outside of football? Its Local funding that eventually gets shafted when the tax man doesnt get paid and as long as HMRC keep letting football clubs get away with fleacing them there will always be another club ready to take them for a ride too.

Sooner HMRC makes the FL and FA buckle and think more carefully about who they let run the clubs the better. If it takes putting a championship club out of business then so be it. I would rather have AFC Pompey rise through the leagues to be our true rivals and have future club ownership treated more fairly anyway.

More likely is she wants to know if you are one of her constituents so she can decide whether to ignore you or not.

It does appear at the moment that HMRC have had enough of various practices in football.

The football creditors rule: Judgement due early this year apparently (can't find anything more specific)

Employee Benefit Trusts: HMRC going after Rangers over these but if they win a lot of the big clubs are going to get some very big tax bills.

Perks: HMRC recently inquired of all clubs about perks such as holidays for players and their families. Again expect them to come down hard on clubs who have done this without the requisite tax adjustments for benefits in kind.

FWIW, here is my (long winded!) contribution :

I am appalled that the Prime Minister has supported the suggestion that Portsmouth Football club be shown favour over their 'winding up petition' with HMRC.

Even a cursory enquiry into the recent history of this business would reveal serious concerns of financial skullduggery !

Having written off around £20 million within the last two years, HMRC is duty bound to ensure that there is no recurrence of this illegality and every honest, hard working taxpayer deserves no less !

The local MP clearly sees some electoral advantage in tabling the question but is extremely naive in expecting law abiding citizens to support such folly !

In the current economic climate, there are many deserving causes which have suffered due to lack of government funding.

I urge you, Prime Minister, to retract your support for PFC and to back the judgement of HMRC as they stand up for the long suffering taxpayer !

David Brown @DavidhBrown

#Redknapp "I have never been greedy in my life. (Peter Crouch) was a good signing and I thought I was due the 10%

#Redknapp: "I said Milan, I don't want an off-shore bank account. Monaco seemed like a million miles"

#Redknapp "Morally I was due the Crouch bonus but legally, contractually, I was not due the bonus

#Redknapp thought #Mandaric "was going to make me a million dollars" with investment in Monaco bank account

So surely Redknapp is admitting that the money in the bank account was a bonus for the sale of Crouch, which wasn't covered by his contract with PFC, so was paid into an offshore account, which hasn't attracted any tax.

Game over Mr Redknapp. you knob.

According to the News article on Monday:

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/updated_pompey_staff_will_not_be_paid_this_month_1_3469509

CSI administrator Mr Andronikou said: ‘It’s a logistical issue. The winding-up petition has left us in a situation whereby the club’s bank account is currently frozen and, as a result, players’ and staff wages have not been paid for January.

‘We plan to get a validation order approved by the court tomorrow to address this.’

Its now two days later and no news??

Seems there's some real infighting inthe camp going on...

“@ollybirchpfc: Spoken to AA, he is disappointed the players werent sold and is investigating why. No buyer, lots of interest but no hard offers. #pompey”

Who is running the club then? Or are these hollow words by AA?

No, he's saying the payment was not under his contract, which would mean he considers it not to be a part of his remuneration package and therefore not taxable.

silly Penny, silly Mr Cameron - there are dirty worms all over the floor, apart from where the herd of elephants is sitting.

Lesson One in canvassing for cheap votes - don't get dragged into supporting criminality, or admit to seeing confidential tax emails.

Lesson Two - never involve the PM.

That'll be two very full inboxes tonight, methinks MoneyPenny will keep her gob shut next time, even Hanc6ck knows when to avoid a dodgy issue, and he's starred in more scandals than Rosie has had tins of Chum.

What? Is this allowed?

So, I could ask my employer to give me a contract worth £5, then make un-contractual payments to an offshore account, which will avoid income tax?

That's great, I will speak to HMRC tomorrow and get a bank account setup on the Isle of Man

No sadly not. I'm not saying they will get away with it. Mandaric has to prove he has a relationship with Harry other than as his employer and it was as a part of that relationship that the "gift" was made. So say you were employed by a parent, if they gave you cash for your birthday that would be from the family relationship rather than the employment. To make the argument fit Mandaric would have to prove they were such good buds that he naturally gave Harry such a generous gift....into an account in Monaco....in the name of his dog. How could one doubt that!

Oh and good news. Due to this new ruling from big Dave our beloved leader, we can pool our tax together and rather than give it to HMRC, simply take the Pompey takeover thread on tour. Where shall we go first?

Well, although it has been a bit chilly of late, the sun is still out down here, and we've got some cricket & golf going on and some concerts that may get baj all excited. (Well, allegeldy they've sold one ticket for Kasabian next week so I assume it was him that bought it)

Just collect plenty of Duty Free on the way in (put it on HMRC's tab, now you can all be tax free, you should come to a tax have first so that you can better understand how your lives can change for the better going forwards.

No Education system, having to pay for your Medical Treatment or simply no Dole. From here? Seychelles sounds good, or maybe swing by SL to take in some more cricket?

Simple, give her TCWTB's address.

If the posh bovver-boys turn up, we'll have a laugh.

On the other hand, if Sid's eloquent prose stirred something in her ample bosom and she turns up, we may not hear from Miss Money Penny for quite a while.
