EastleighSoulBoy Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 I thought that the servers would be more robust than HMRCs case to be honest. The pigeon arrived before this page loaded!
mack rill Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Am i to late for the red arrow show, fireworks, and 100 yard BBQ? Its gonna be good on ear tonight.
Under Weststand Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 So cheating pays then well done the High court & justice Mann. NickH was right all along unfortunatley. Or have they because the funny thing is they will be left with Chainrai.
shurlock Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 HMRC will appeal it - as long as there's legal uncertainty, i'll be surprised if any new investor comes in and that's what the skates ultimately need.
trousers Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Am i to late for the red arrow show, fireworks, and 100 yard BBQ? Its gonna be good on ear tonight. Welcome back :-)

bpsaint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 That's that then, they've got away with it. Would be more annoyed but always felt the decision would go their way such is their luck.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 HMRC will appeal it - as long as there's legal uncertainty, i'll be surprised if any new investor comes in and that's what the skates ultimately need. They aren't appealing
Iowsaintsfan Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Am i to late for the red arrow show, fireworks, and 100 yard BBQ? Its gonna be good on ear tonight. Didnt take you long to reappear!
JackFrost Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 wtf does that mean? Im with master bates on not bothering to pay tax too. Didnt want them gone but I at least wanted them to do things properly. With the judge voting for HMRC it looks like that will never happen. I guess the appeal will be tomorrow then? I don't think HMRC are even going to bother. It all depends on whether Pompey can keep to the CVA over the next 4 years, and whether they can get promoted back to the Premiership again in that time. Even without KPB and Utaka they've got a decent chance.

GenevaSaint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Am i to late for the red arrow show, fireworks, and 100 yard BBQ? Its gonna be good on ear tonight. Mack Rill, let's not forget that Chanrai will still want his money out of pompey! I seriously expect to see the CVA agreement broken before everyone gets their 20p in the £. Mark my words.
Merovingian Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 News reporting no appeal. It's wrong but I dunno what else to say
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 think the moral of the story is that if you have "football club" affixed to your company name you can get away with money laundering, illegal trading and tax evasion. Will be interesting to see what HMRC's next move will be, surely there is an angle to bring about tax evasion charges. Had a feeling that HMRC would lose once they started going on about principles and the football creditors ruling.
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 HMRC will NOT appeal it - too comples apparently.
trousers Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Tune to TalkSport.....presenters aghast at decision "as taxpayers".....Pompey fans trying to defend the undefendable....good entertainment http://www.talksport.co.uk
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 It's disgusting. If it was any football club I would be saying the same.
warsash saint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 & the best is yet to come.....an enlightening post from Corp Ho !!!
GenevaSaint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 News reporting no appeal. It's wrong but I dunno what else to say If I were you Mero, it'd probably be "woooo hoooooo".
Saint-scooby Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Well you can can and pick up my returns forms HMRC you know where I live W***Kers
Tractor_Saint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 HMRC not appealing? Oh how bad has my day just got
jjsaint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Poopey is rotten. They do not know how to operate honestly, and will continue to cheat, scheme and lie to get their way. They will eventually get caught and punished properly.
JackFrost Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 That's that then, they've got away with it. Would be more annoyed but always felt the decision would go their way such is their luck. Sorry? I didn't realise someone had bought the club with the intent of piling £200 million in cash whilst this court case was going on. they're far from being out of the woods yet. The only chance of them going bust is if they fail to keep up to the CVA, and the tide of the media turns against them. Until that happens, clubs will continue to cheat because they know the judges won't have the balls to wind them up. Up to now, Pompey have shown the countries' football clubs how to recklessly overspend with very little consequence
Chez Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 for all the stick Andriod gets from both ends of the M27, he has done a ****ing good job for his master.
stevegrant Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 I genuinely can't believe what has happened here. In slightly related news, apologies for the incredibly **** performance of the forum during all of that. It's the first time the new software's had to bear that sort of load and it epically failed. I've found a load of performance enhancements I can implement, so will be working through those this evening along with the minor update to version 4.0.5, with a view to it all being fine for the Plymouth game on Saturday.
JackFrost Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 HMRC will NOT appeal it - too comples apparently. That fascinates me
Trader Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 No appeal then - they HAVE got away with it. Big green light for any other cheats out there - I'm falling out of love with football!
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Can I just add that my hatred for Pompey has just increased a notch. I can only hope that this isn't the end of the story don't forget that there is still pontential points deductions from the Storrie/Redknapp/Mandaric tax situation, the possibility of HMRC going after them specifically on image rights as a tax evasion case, and the possibility that they will not stick to the CVA. Regardless you have to say that HMRC blew a winning hand.
Crab Lungs Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Talksport ripping Pompey apart... Taxman NOT going to appeal the decision
OldNick Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 WTF - right im off to my boss to get paid by image rights from now on and not pay tax! I don't know if it opens a can of worms, but is there reasons that people can't do the same? Just post a picture on some advertising and bingo
saintjay77 Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 I don't think HMRC are even going to bother. It all depends on whether Pompey can keep to the CVA over the next 4 years, and whether they can get promoted back to the Premiership again in that time. Even without KPB and Utaka they've got a decent chance. I am honestly finding it hard to understand right now. I was expecting a 50/50 kind of result as it seems obvious to everyone except the blue few and the judge that there is a fiddle going on but I didnt expect the judge to crucify them like we wanted. I just dont understand how the ruling means its over and they can jog on with there fiddle. I am hoping the explination will shed more light on it but otherwise I cant see Chainrai messing up now since he has a chance to get his money back. Will be tricky to get Gaydamak to agree to anything that doesnt make him a wad of cash though.
trousers Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 for all the stick Andriod gets from both ends of the M27, he has done a ****ing good job for his master. His master? The creditors or the former/new owner....?
tony13579 Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 bbc_matt Taxman knows game is up on this one. No appeal. The judge didnt really give them much hope. Better 2 keep powder dry 4 creditor rule appeal 3 minutes ago via txt Reply Retweet
Katalinic Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Can I just add that my hatred for Pompey has just increased a notch. StD Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Wrong decision. But on the positive side of things, Chainrai will continue to screw them over. He's never gonna pump enough money in to get them to the Prem and I don't think we'll have to wait too long for our next derby game.
bpsaint Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Sorry? Up to now, Pompey have shown the countries' football clubs how to recklessly overspend with very little consequence They've spent money they haven't got to sign players they couldn't afford and cheated their way out of paying tax and are they dead? No. To me that's pretty much getting away with it.
Chez Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 His master? The creditors or the former/new owner....? right from the start I think it was obvious he didn't give a **** about the creditors. If he did then he'd have halved that imaginery £10m wage bill from his CVA plan and put the £5m in the creditors pockets.
gaz Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Right, how much longer is this transfer window open, and how much more do they need to raise?
JackFrost Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 I think this is what AA knew all along. He knew the judge wouldn't have the balls to wind them up. It needs media pressure, depending on what chainrai's motives are and if the CVA gets broken they may well end up back in court again in the not too distant future. Don't be suprised to hear Pompey signing some loan players on very hefty wages before the start of the new season
JackFrost Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Thread closed? No, this has got a long way to go yet. 4 years to be precise. And we're still waiting for someone to takethem over and Riquelme to sign. .
Matthew Le God Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Thread closed? Well the thread is called "Pompey Takeover Saga" and they still haven't been taken over yet! Nor has the CVA finished and it won't until 2014. They have to keep up with payments or they will return back to court.
Chez Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Wrong decision. But on the positive side of things, Chainrai will continue to screw them over. He's never gonna pump enough money in to get them to the Prem and I don't think we'll have to wait too long for our next derby game. I never wanted them liquidated. The Derby games are the best games by far.
Crab Lungs Posted 5 August, 2010 Posted 5 August, 2010 Stan Collymore on now.... this is going to be interesting..
