Now.... I'm sure aa works hard (As football scout, manager, chairman and the odd bit of administration), and this might be reading something that isn't there, but the time difference between here and the Ukraine, is only an hour...... I wonder whether aa realised this when he made the comment above.

So, what you are saying Gemmel is that he has had a phone call about a prospective takeover.

Now, where have we heard that one before?

Oh I see so THAT's why he is retained as a Consultant. :)

It's two hours by my reckoning, but still in his favour!

Indeed....page 15

If he makes it to page twenty, he'll be camped in London waiting for the South Africans to turn up :D

I love the bit from Skate News which said:

The administrator met with HMRC, which has put in a £35m claim, on Tuesday to persuade them to vote in favour.

He said: 'They're sitting on the fence. They said they will let me know their position on Monday.'

I can tell him today which way they will go .... unless he changes his proposals.

Perhaps AA got confused....far more likely the late night phone calls are with Chainrai trying to explain why Plan A is not going as smoothly as hoped. :p

Hasn't he already said that there are no buyers out there and that Chanrai is the only credible option (or words to that effect)?

Quite a coincidence that these other groups should pop up since only to walk away as a result of griffins report.

well the same thing worked when they went to court ,and the lady judge believed it. So they tiry it again, I suppose

more progress than that - the word in financial circles is that someone knocked on the door today but by the time AA stopped shredding files and got to the door they'd gone, frightened off by Griffins no doubt.

I haven't ever met him personally but I'm yet to meet an IP who doesn't get an instant look of disgust on his face at the mention of his name.

I friend of mine's husband went to work for Hacker Young recently. He lasted a year before he felt obliged to leave.

Yes they really **** me off.

It would be a great shame if AA continues with this bull**** only to have HMRC contest his conduct in court and have him held personally liable for the resultant losses to creditors. A real shame.

Cheers Clapham, I've been waiting for your take on the android.

Assuming the CVA is not agreed, what happens then, do Hacker Young have to start again and look a bit more seriously at the Griffin proposal, o will android have lost to much face and have to stand down.

I'm gonna have a fun week on here coming up.

My family member who is an IP counsel is coming on vacation for 2 weeks. He was spot on with all his Fry knowledge and being a Spud still annoyed at the SF result I'm looking forward to finding out what is postable gossip about "The industry in General"

oh happy daze coming up Bullfrogs and the Seaview with the added bonus of dirt dishing (allegedly)

No it wouldn't.

Android would be liable for the losses to creditors as a result of his time as "administrator". Storrie will still be on the hook for his wrongful trading...

If the CVA isn't approved AA remains the administrator and will need to (continue to?) fulfil the duties of his office.

In short, he'll either need to come up with an alternative plan or look at other options for rasing money for creditors. If he can't find a plan for them to continue trading then that means closing down and liquidating the remaining assets.

it's on the football rumours site, i was trying to prove to glasgow saint on the mainboard that it's full of crap.

still didn't expect to find that little gem on there though.

Whilst we are perfectly entitled to scoff at their threadbare support... on the ST front, I don't blame them at all. I certainly would not buy an ST if Saints were in their position.

Is he closer to the truth than he knows? Is that why they are all flying round the States? They are planning a plane crash in The Grand Canyon?

They're planning to come to San Diego, I've heard, so they'd bloody well better crash before getting here.

The Grand Canyon sounds fine to me, as long as they don't damage the ecosystem.

If Griffins direct tv money and parachute money to the creditors and all high wager players are moved on, the resulting club will not have huge income but a (less wealthy) prospective investor would not have huge liabillities either.

The biggest obsticles at the moment is huge wage bill and £120m debt.

He can't. They've got an embargo. I understand that it's thrown a bit of a spanner in the works on the Riquelme front as well.

so when they say 'in the running' to buy, they mean, 'have left the table stating they are no longer interested'.

I would have thought that even Ukranian gangsters would find it difficult to commit any new offences via the club - child trafficking maybe via a bogus academy?

Another article on the Ukulele-ian rumour. Though sounds like just recycling the news article.

What I want to know is how he thinks he can get someone to agree to buy them before the CVA has been agreed?

In Daily Mail speak, does the headline 'Mystery Ukrainian Consortium' mean 'We don't believe they exist'???

Just a thought.

Has Lifelong Skate offered anything yet?

5 years time, when all the debts have been settled by griffins and the reduced wage bill is covered by the gate receipts, they may be, possibly , just about, be a lifelong skate that could afford them :)

Cardiff City ease financial worries after paying off £1.9m tax bill

Cardiff City have avoided the threat of being plunged into administration next season after paying off their £1.9m tax bill.

The Championship club, who completed a Far East takeover last month, claim the long-running debt to HMRC has finally been settled at the High Court.

It comes as a welcome boost to Cardiff, who were forced to play under the shadow of repeated revelations about their tax debt and a cash crisis on their run to the play-off final.

EDIT: That gives the tax man more resources to chase the C H E A T S down the road :)

I expect the revenues from the playoff final will have helped. The usual agreement is for the losing club to get all the receipts.

Seems that quite a few of the commenters (e.g. Heliogabus, Astrological etc) are making some very reasonable comments, or are they Saints Web posters in disguise?

Got to say that whenever I see sense being talked on their site I'm tempted to press the 'Report Unsuitable' button it seems so incongruous!:p

They had a £6m cash injection when a Malaysian business man took a 30% stake in the club, part of the deal was Ridsdale to stand down. They knew that they were going to get that injection hence why HMRC allowed the extension.

Although it makes me laugh that a billionaire only has £800m these days, tsk these billionaires just ain't what they used to be - think that might be called the Pompey effect!!!!

There is good news for Pompey.......Now we have got our class new football strips...

We are going to help with their costs for next season by giving them some of our old red and white strips for nothing..
