Channon's Sideburns Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Portsmouth back in the high court tomorrow as HMRC are contesting the right for voluntary Administration. Breaking news on Sky sports news Ha FOOOKIN HA HA HA!!!!
andysstuff Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 HMRC are absolutely furious that they've done this. HMRC want Portsmouth shut down! Oh, please let the Revenue boys win. Maybe there really is a god after all. And he's red and white.
Under Weststand Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 So any off our legal eagles on line to give their opinion on this breaking news. If HMRC get the decision tomorrow could it be the end of the road? or just the first instalment in another round of court case's & appeals?
pedg Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 How are we supposed to get to 20,000 posts before then? Someone tell them we have proof of more posts coming and could they hold off for a bit.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Anyone fancy an FA Cup game on Saturday rather than a trip to Tranmere?

tony13579 Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 HMRC are absolutely furious that they've done this. HMRC want Portsmouth shut down! I was wrong, there is a god :smt036
Smirking_Saint Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Lol at this, bye bye portsmouth lol Cheaters never prosper thats what my mum used to say
Goalie66 Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 I am sure it will be on a point of law. Only Preferred Creditors could take PCFC into Admin so I expect that their application wass not from a Preffered creditor. Also they may not have formally had the WUP discharged so they may have been in contempt. In any event a Judge has said back in court so if that is the case thir prospects look slim.
pedg Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 How long do we need? 48 HOURS...?!?! Probably 3 consecutive days of 48 hours, or the full story as its known.
Toomer Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 How are we supposed to get to 20,000 posts before then? Someone tell them we have proof of more posts coming and could they hold off for a bit. Breaking news, Ocean Finance aprove SWF request for 20,000 posts.

stevegrant Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Anyone fancy an FA Cup game on Saturday rather than a trip to Tranmere? No, I've booked a first-class return to Manchester

stevegrant Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Jump on at Southampton, drink and trouser as much booze from the trolley as you can and get a cab back from Parkway. It's from Euston...
Under Weststand Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Just talking to an insolvency expert says that this is going to be a test case for HMRC, seems to think it improbable that they would be wound up tomorrow, speculated that they could be after a different Administrator but thought unlikely. And also says its more likely that they will get an injunction tomorrow to give both sides time to get their arguments together for a final showdown at a later date. So the thread gets a new lease of life so off we go again.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 No, I've booked a first-class return to Manchester  Sue Peter Storrie
pedg Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 One would guess either that the information on creditors in the SoA means HMRC believe Chainrai cannot put the club into admin or that pompey messed up on the legal front at some point?
tony13579 Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Andronikou-To-Meet-With-Premier-League-685.aspx Andrew Andronikou, joint-administrator for Portsmouth Football Club, will meet with the Premier League on Tuesday to discuss the club’s proposed nine-point penalty for entering administration. Andronikou will then attend a meeting of Premier League chairmen on Thursday to explore whether clubs would consider allowing Pompey to sell players and then take them back on loan for the remainder of the season. The possibility of television revenue being forwarded early to Pompey will also be discussed. A Pompey spokesman said: “We don’t want to pre-empt anything or pre-judge what will happen, but hopefully the Premier League and our fellow Premier League clubs will be as sympathetic as possible to our situation. “The Premier League have been incredibly understanding in our current situation and Balram Chainrai, the club’s owner, would like to place on record his gratitude to chief executive Richard Scudamore, chairman Sir David Richards, company secretary and head of football administration Jane Purdon, general secretary Mike Foster and director of finance and administration Javed Khan.” He might have to postpone this meeting LOL

Channon's Sideburns Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 (edited) Justice Norris at 10.30am - Unprecedented move by HMRC........ :-D Our potential new hero.... Edited 1 March, 2010 by Channon's Sideburns
pedg Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Its like a horror film for pompey. There they were thinking the HMRC monster was fatally injured only for it to make a shock appearance in the last reel.
St Chalet Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 It's from Euston... Claim you work for Portsmouth Football Club. Then go on to say that you are planning a judicial review on the whole Rail Ticketing system. Technically they now owe you a train ticket and you will be vindicated in court, if that fails you can always appeal.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Is there a public gallery at the court? Might pop down for a laugh
Smirking_Saint Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Lol Plus it could be to change the administrator ??? I wouldn't be happy with an administrator that could be biased towards chanrai because of him funding them ?? Or is this practice illegal ??
jjsaint Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Is this for real? Can't find anything on the web, is it SSN only?!?
RonManager Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Its like a horror film for pompey. There they were thinking the HMRC monster was fatally injured only for it to make a shock appearance in the last reel. They tiptoed backwards towards the camera, turned round to face it in classic Hammer horror fashion, only to be confronted by the grinning and contorted face of ---- 'The TAXMAN'.:axe:

Matthew Le God Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Is this for real? Can't find anything on the web, is it SSN only?!? Yes, it is real. On BBC radio local/national as well.
Channon's Sideburns Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Is this for real? Can't find anything on the web, is it SSN only?!? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1254678/Portsmouth-set-new-High-Court-hearing-HMRC-challenge-voluntary-administration.html It gets funnier.... What's the bet that HMRC claim the administration isn't real because it has to be funded by Chinarai, who has a vested interest. Surely most admins have to be funded by the money within the club....have thought this for ages TBH. Also, the timing of his 'not interested in owning Pompey' piece... hmmmmmmmmm PAY UP POMPEY...oh you can't.
Saint Keith Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Court 54 http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/list_chancery.htm im in town tomorrow, first meeting not til midday, might pop into court before i go
