Channon's Sideburns Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Solent reporting Poopey only offered £1.5M - HMRC wanted £4M.
bungle Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 9 out of 10 supporting creditors paid. But not HMRC.
Saint_clark Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 This place is already running at a crawl, if they go POP this place will do the same.

Chez Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 The times reported HM Revenue & Customs have asked the High Court to either execute the winding up order today or grant a "very short" adjournment in the case. The wait goes on ... does executing the winding up order mean force them to pay up of die, or just kill? Does adjournment mean time to complete payment, or time before they come back to discuss again before the judge
Give it to Ron Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 HMRC have told the court that they are owed £11.5m and the club cannot pay the debt. Wednesday February 10, 2010 13:02 Matthew
GenevaSaint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Matthew: HMRC have told the court that they are owed £11.5m and the club cannot pay the debt. Wednesday February 10, 2010 13:02 Matthew
dune Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 ha ha ha, the skates owe £11.5 million to HMRC, not the £7.5 millions that the Skates claimed.
OldNick Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Quote from courtroom source: "The FA have provided a substantial sum to allow debts to be paid. wtf?" Not sure who said this, so may be poopey trying to claim some wriggle room.if true that is opening a can of worms
Channon's Sideburns Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Tanya Robbins representing Pompey at the High Court. Peter Storrie at Fratton Park overseeing shredding first, then waiting in the car with the engine running.
Katalinic Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Quote from courtroom source: "The FA have provided a substantial sum to allow debts to be paid. wtf?" Not sure who said this, so may be poopey trying to claim some wriggle room. If that is true then it is a disgrace and has repercussions for any club who is or has been in debt.
GenevaSaint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 From the Times Blog..... 12.56pm: Sky Sports are reporting that HM Revenue & Customs have told the High Court that Portsmouth are "insolvent" - which basically means it thinks the club have more debts than they would be able to clear even if they sold all their assets, were mortgaged or sold. Not a good state of affairs. 12.50pm: HM Revenue & Customs have asked the High Court to either execute the winding up order today or grant a "very short" adjournment in the case. The wait goes on ...
bungle Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Judge concerned. "Clearly trading while insolvent", but...
St Marco Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 wow and the first bit of bull**** from Portsmouth is exposed. They owe over £11m to the taxman..... Is it me or does it sound like their lawyers are getting killed in there?
Liquidshokk Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 wow and the first bit of bull**** from Portsmouth is exposed. They owe over £11m to the taxman..... Is it me or does it sound like their lawyers are getting killed in there? HMRC only asked for 7.4mill though?!?
OldNick Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Quote from courtroom source: "The FA have provided a substantial sum to allow debts to be paid. wtf?" Not sure who said this, so may be poopey trying to claim some wriggle room. I just realised that would be the money they held back from transfers to be paid
MOSaint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Don't tell me the FA are going to bail them out
Under Weststand Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 ha ha ha, the skates owe £11.5 million to HMRC, not the £7.5 millions that the Skates claimed. And they also claim that they have 2 offers on the table, are they hand written in crayon!
gaz Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 13:05 Matthew: The petition put into the court by HMRC is for £7.4m though. Wednesday February 10, 2010 13:05 Matthew 13:06 Matthew: The case has been adjourned. Wednesday February 10, 2010 13:06 Matthew 13:06 Matthew: No details yet as to how long for.
Gingeletiss Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 £11.5m not £7.5m tbf...I've been saying that for weeks, glad the rest of the world are catching up;)
hutch Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 From the Pompey "News" live chat thing (Matthew is the presenter): 12:48 [Comment From SouthStandSam] @Matthew - To pass the time, do you know any good jokes? 12:52 Matthew: Sky Sport are reporting Pompey have said there have been two serious offers for the club and pay of the debts. Clearly, he knows some very good jokes.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 not ground breaking but totally illegal. But surely Chelski 'trade' insolvent but Abromovich's creative accounting makes it legal, can Chanrai substaniate enough wealth for HMRC to believe he can do the same, especially if Gaydamak transfers his 'debt' in a similar way ?
PES Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Pompey will never Die. "Strike us down and we'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!" I can't believe this site is falling over through the weight of Scummers spunking over their keyboards in excitement at the thought of the demise of their rivals.
Tractor_Saint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 7 days - what a dogs breakfast this is
hypochondriac Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 They have a week! The judge just wanted the derby day to go ahead
gaz Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 If they quickly accept one of these offers to buy the club, how quick can they transfer funds to clear the bill? And are they also Russian/Arab? 7 days adjournment for ''statement of affairs''. Arsebuscuits.
badgerx16 Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 This is just prolonging the agony:( If PFC were a horse, the bolt gun would have been deployed long ago.
dune Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 7 day adjournment. Saints v Pompey will be the last game they ever play. Come on Saints.
