dronskisaint Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 What is the point ? nearly every household in the PO postal code already has one except they are more commonly known, down there, as baths I think you may be misunderstanding the concept of caravan dweller.....& the great unwashed?!
tombletomble Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Well he isn't scared of being fined for 2 weeks wages he won't be paid anyway. If his does get fined and then doesn't pay, will he be able to claim that it was because of a fault at the bank!
JRM Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 I still don't understand this. They are a week away from a winding up order court hearing? The players still haven't been paid for last month? and yet they are still signing more players? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8495353.stm

Can't imagine that unpaid local businesses are too impressed.
Gemmel Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Well they don't really worry about paying people, so whats to worry about? Can't imagine that unpaid local businesses are too impressed. And yet not a word from the others teams fighting relegation. If I were them, I would be battering the PL. Whilst the PL aren't blameless in all of this, they are in a real fix with regard to what they can do. It looks to me like pompey are going for **** or bust; If they don't lose to HMRC they will get an extension by simply delaying tactics, which leaves them fighting for pl survival......if tyhey manage that, then they have something to sell, if not they are fooked anyway.

If it wasn't for us playing them soon I would be quite relaxed about it, if anything wanting their relegation to be a long slow drawn out process with admin in the summer, and points deductions next year, but since the cup draw I hoped for a dramatic firesale of players to help us find a level playing field for the cup game. As most of our new signings are cup tied we've got to hope the side who played against Ipswich have another top performance.

'Big' business isn't renowned for its morality and decency. The little guy always suffers whilst the big boys carry on regardless
ringwood Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 well the new player must be the only thing that Chainrai doesn't have a charge over!, is he due a signing on fee? whats the PFA doing they should be telling players the chances of not getting paid , and do the players have insurance? what happens if one gets a career ending injury ?
NickG Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 hear they were all paid this afternoon, is that right?
SimonRichards Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 hear they were all paid this afternoon, is that right? That is what P*rtsmouth FC have told Solent an hour ago.
Fowllyd Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 hear they were all paid this afternoon, is that right? Not according to this: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Pompey-staff-anger-as-club.6037231.jp Admittedly there's no time on it, just today's date, but I should think they'd wait until wages should have been paid before reporting that they hadn't been.

Easy to get confused with so many failures to pay happening at once though...
Clapham Saint Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 well the new player must be the only thing that Chainrai doesn't have a charge over!, is he due a signing on fee? whats the PFA doing they should be telling players the chances of not getting paid , and do the players have insurance? what happens if one gets a career ending injury ? If he has a floating charge over all assets (as reported) then he actually has a charge over the contracts of new signings as well...
Saint Keith Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 If he has a floating charge over all assets (as reported) then he actually has a charge over the contracts of new signings as well... jesus, is that even allowed under the PL rules?
Saint_John Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 The local Basingstoke paper's report on Grosvenor Basingstoke Properties being added to the winding up order http://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/news/4888535.Pompey_sued_by_Basingstoke_property_firm/
ringwood Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Is this thread as confusing as the accounts at FP? Even Avram seems confused perhaps thats why he's getting in new players and no one's told him about the 10th Feb or maybe he expects to be paid then? Bet the only ones providing a service to PCFC not indebted to is Unit One!!!!
Gemmel Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 The local Basingstoke paper's report on Grosvenor Basingstoke Properties being added to the winding up order http://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/news/4888535.Pompey_sued_by_Basingstoke_property_firm/ Grovesnor is owned by Prince Phillip I believe, which means a husband and wife double act on sinking pompey
gaz Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Grovesnor is owned by Prince Phillip I believe, which means a husband and wife double act on sinking pompey May I humbly suggest to Her Madjesty.... Peter Storrie: Off with his head?
bridge too far Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Grovesnor is owned by Prince Phillip I believe, which means a husband and wife double act on sinking pompey I don't think it's the same company. Grosvenor Estates is owned by the Duke of Westminster. However, this lot seem to be something different: http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/f51a98e50251d20021f9601d5ed7cddb/compdetails
CB Saint Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 jesus, is that even allowed under the PL rules? Banks do it all the time. It effectively means that he gets first dibs on everything as the assets are secured.

hutch Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 If he has a floating charge over all assets (as reported) then he actually has a charge over the contracts of new signings as well... Unless, as I understand it, they are liquidated. In which case the players become free agents. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Chin Strain Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 jesus, is that even allowed under the PL rules? I would think that HMRC would be challenging that, given the WUP was issued prior to the loan being taken out, and the remaining assets placed under a charge.
hutch Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 I think the loan was before the WUP, but the (second) charge was registered after.
hypochondriac Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Playing well again against Fulham but just cannot score again. If they lose tonight I think they are going to find it extremely difficult with Manure next.
hutch Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 And Grant's got the dilemma of whether to bring on the tea lady or the bog cleaner to sharpen up the attack. They're both up for it, now that they've been paid.
Dark Munster Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Apart from the "sleeing with Thai hookers" bit, yeah? And lying that he knew nothing about the sales of Kaboul and Bergovic.
stevegrant Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 From what Scott Minto's been saying on Sky, it sounds like Pompey's entire season wrapped up into 90 minutes - plenty of possession and chances, but fail to take them and get punished at the other end. Shame.
Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 It must have been a late goal - the Beeb website had already added a point on for Pompey.
Channon's Sideburns Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Nice to see Ed Chamberlain managing to stifle a smile when talking about the Skates problems...
stevegrant Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 It must have been a late goal - the Beeb website had already added a point on for Pompey. 8pm kickoff, so still 15 mins to go
benjii Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 It must have been a late goal - the Beeb website had already added a point on for Pompey. Beeb website seems to be a bit broken.
CB Fry Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 It must have been a late goal - the Beeb website had already added a point on for Pompey. Beeb website seems to be a bit broken. That would be the "as it stands" table, which updates as goals go in.

carljack Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 BBC Site knackered. Fulham still winning 1-0 according to Sky Sports News All over 1-0
Under Weststand Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 LOL shame 6-points adrift from saftey & Manure away next.
St Chalet Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 To be fair at least they managed nil tonight, they'd kill for that to be their bank balance.
benjii Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 That would be the "as it stands" table, which updates as goals go in. Er, no. The live commentary stopped on 27 minutes.
Johnny Shearer Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 The teams are above them are still completely garbage though which is annoying.
stevegrant Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 The teams are above them are still completely garbage though which is annoying. Not really, just shows how crap they are that they're still comfortably behind the likes of Hull, Burnley and Wolves
Johnny Shearer Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 Not really, just shows how crap they are that they're still comfortably behind the likes of Hull, Burnley and Wolves True. I'm just counting down the number of games they have left, reducing their chances of avoiding relegation as I have a nagging feeling that they wont go into admin just yet. 15 games left. 2 wins needed just to draw level. 13 games. Do not see them beating Manure, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton or Villa. 8 games left effectively to save their season in my opinion.
TopGun Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 The teams are above them are still completely garbage though which is annoying. So they are on about 0.66 points per game. They do have quite a few home fixtures against teams they need to beat but I can't see them breaking 30 points even if they had an unlikely renaissance. That assumes they reach the end of the season as a live club or without 9 points docked. With a bit of luck the whole thing will start affecting them anyway and they start to unravel dramatically on the pitch as well as off it. I feel there is a thin end of the wedge approaching as far as players' faith and patience with the entire scenario. It's a lot of pressure for the players to handle.
rallyboy Posted 3 February, 2010 Posted 3 February, 2010 if Carlsberg did local rivals they would come to your place when ten points from safety and insolvent, in the very week that you book your Wembley tickets! - but let's not get ahead of ourselves...it's a long shot, they might be only eight points adrift by then.
