EastleighSoulBoy Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/28/the-fiver-portsmouth
gaz Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Club living on a day-to-day basis, wages not going to be paid tomorrow. Storrie says its up to the owners to pay them and find finance.
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Anyone know the firefox skin for that screenshot the guardian used?
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 http://www.quayradio.com/ Kaboul, Begovic to Spurs. Nugent to Burnley. and dindane to brum? When they are all gone what's going to happen to ding dong?
gaz Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 PS can't comment on how close the club is to being saved. Players having to be sold to keep club alive. Sounds like theres no-one even sniffing around it.
OldNick Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 http://www.quayradio.com/ Kaboul, Begovic to Spurs.. Considering Spurs are run by people of a faith that is supposedly financially astute, it amazes me they have bought at this time.
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Very good point from the skate interviewer just made, "over the previous 12 months we had no investment coming in at all, now you say Al Faraj is putting plenty of cash in and we are suddenly facing winding up petitions".
gaz Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 The guy is asking why the club haven't asked the fans for help (he says they would help with donations...lols). PS says hes not involved with the finances of the club (yet he sorted the website payment, and he was involved with the transfer embargo being lifted). What a Storrie-teller! Can't keep his story straight!
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Now they're trying to make Storrie out as the saviour.
gaz Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Considering Spurs are run by people of a faith that is supposedly financially astute, it amazes me they have bought at this time. Arry must want a bigger slice.
Red Alert Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Think they are about to have the interview on Sky Sports News if anyone missed it.
St. Neil Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Bigging himself up for bringing Begovic to the club, but has nothing to do with bringing in the owners.
Crab Lungs Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 (edited) Storrie-teller is right a ****... seriously.... he oversaw the spending, now he's blaming the new owners for not having the cash to deal with it. Prized c()nt. Edited 28 January, 2010 by Crab Lungs
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Anyone else just get some weird freaky alien noise when the interview started again?
ringwood Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 hmm so they have no bank loans, but must have an account facility to pay bills, or maybe nor as they can't pay wages, the EPL look pretty silly now lifting the embargo so hope the website provider got cash, as the payment via the banking system isn't there until cleared. they have to be insolvent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 has david james gone to Stoke yet, last i heard he was in talks He's injured, according to a local supporter I spoke to this afternoon.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 " kaboul sale will pay the wages" ffs We sold Surman to pay the wages, supposedly, and we still were in/went into admin.
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 These interviews seem to love pushing the boundaries slowly and then backtracking like f*ck when Storrie acts all indignant.
pedg Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 " kaboul sale will pay the wages" ffs Wonderful. So who can they sell to pay gaddy and HMRC?
Crab Lungs Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Oh dear, ladies and gentlemen. I have been given express and direct permission to put this out. Mark has spoken to Peter Storrie. Peter is sat in his office as is Avram Grant. Neither of them has anything to do with this at all. Azougy is out right now at the request of those who own the club selling everyone they can to avoid our club going out of business NEXT WEEK. Azougy and co have taken total control of disposal of players. Storrie and Grant I am told by Mark are fuming at the situation but are unable o prevent it. .
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Local talk also says that the staff have been 'warned' that they may be paid late this month. Some staff haven't been paid for a couple of months. Some are leaving for other jobs, others are hanging on (unpaid) in the hope that they'll get statutory payments when the ship sinks.
Crab Lungs Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 And on another note... don't the FA/Premier League/whoever lifted the embargo look even bigger c()nts now?
Draino76 Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 TBF I'm surprised they lasted this long. A vallient battle.
Crab Lungs Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 I went to farton when we lost 1-0 and kev phillips hit the post.....they were desperate to beat us......now, I think we have that hunger.....I really do.. I totally agree... it's almost rabid now and a complete reversal... ****, I know I'm desperate we smash them, badly... even be their ultimate, final humiliation! God, I would love that...
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 The funds are there, they're waiting for the validation order from the bank. F*cking mug.
Saint Mikey Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 I still hope they lose some more players before we play them. Currently their team could look something like this: Jamie Ashdown Steve Finnan - Aaron Mokoena - Tal Ben-Haim - Hermann Hreidarsson Tommy Smith - Kevin Boateng - Michael Brown - Richard Hughes Piquionne - Utaka Subs: Antti Niemi, Angelos Basinas, Danny Webber, Hayden Mullins, Mark Wilson, Nadir Belhadj, N****wo Kanu, Vanden Borre, Yebda Injured: Pape Bouba Diop Still a decent side and capable of beating us. Hopefully they will lose a few more and have some injuries too!
Doctoroncall Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 I was looking at the fixture list thinking we have an extra match with the semi-final of the JPT and that tiredness could be a factor. However, as it happens, the skates have one more game to play due to their postponed games being rescheduled, so: The cup game will be the Skates 5th game in 14 days, if they also sell a few players this transfer window the rest of the squad will have to cope. Saints have a less demanding schedule with the game being the 4th in 15 days, both teams having last played on the 9th Feb before the cup game.
Thedelldays Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 "funds are there for the staff wages...but need validation order from the bank...wages may not be paid till monday" "players will be paid if they sell a player" how the hell can the powers at be lift the transfer ban..? WTF..?
StD Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Azougy is out right now at the request of those who own the club selling everyone they can to avoid our club going out of business NEXT WEEK. . Sorry, you must be mistaken, Storrie said there would be no quick-fire sale...
pedg Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 TBF I'm surprised they lasted this long. A vallient battle. They can't give up now! Not when we are so close to 10,000 posts on this thread.

Hopefully they will lose a few more and have some injuries too! That looks frightening. Did I see that they couldn't put out a full bench the other night?
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 It's the BANK FFS, it's all a god damn conspiracy!
Thedelldays Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Sorry, you must be mistaken, Storrie said there would be no quick-fire sale... did he...well, thats that then...
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 That looks frightening. Did I see that they couldn't put out a full bench the other night? The defence is sh*t, Lambert will p*ss all over Mokoena, Lallana will run rings round Finnan and Antonio/Waigo will leave Hreidersson miles behind.
Doctoroncall Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 And on another note... don't the FA/Premier League/whoever lifted the embargo look even bigger c()nts now? They can only act on footballing debt... stupid ****s.

WTF..? that's almost as bad as them loosing the computer file, last month
sidthesquid Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 I still hope they lose some more players before we play them. Hopefully they will lose a few more and have some injuries too! That's what really gets me - they still have a bigger squad of much more highly paid & relatively experienced players than any of their 'poorer' rivals. They are broke & trading criminally yet they still might yet get away with it. hat does the PL do - let them sign some more and shaft some other teams
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 The defence is sh*t, Lambert will p*ss all over Mokoena, Lallana will run rings round Finnan and Antonio/Waigo will leave Hreidersson miles behind. That's all right, then. For a moment I was worried.
Crab Lungs Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 They can only act on footballing debt... stupid ****s. what an absolutely **** rule.
Thedelldays Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 does not sound like gadaffi is coming in then
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 "It's hard for people to blame me, it's not my business". You f*cking gutless c*nt.
Under Weststand Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Jesus just dropped in for a quick look in Dinner break, Cant believe another 5 pages since 1.20pm. Not had time to read it all PMSL at the terrorist plot post, now that was just sheer class COMEDY at its best, I was just crying laughing at that. By the time I get home tonight I'll be up till about 2 in the morning just catching up with it all.
Tractor_Saint Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Anyone know the firefox skin for that screenshot the guardian used? Um, it's Safari I think - Mac OS, not Windows
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 Um, it's Safari I think - Mac OS, not Windows Ah yes, nevermind. I prefer mine as it is.
Gravesend Saint Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 does not sound like gadaffi is coming in then Not unless it's a loan or free and they can sell another player to pay the wages
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2010 Posted 28 January, 2010 "We don't need to sell anymore than 2/3 players".
