I think the big money approach for Nyron Nosworthy shows a frightening level of intent from the new regime. I can't see Sunderland resisting for too long, especially when Nyron starts making waves in the dressing room if they deny him his dream move.

A shot accross the boughs of the rest of the Premier League. There's a new kid in town and good god, they mean business.

Maybe Maradonna sees something in Smith that we're all overlooking?

I think you might be onto something. I've just checked with my mate who works at the Argentine embassy in London and apparently they have just received an application for an Argentine passport in the name of Mr T Smith. Apparently he qualifies for one as his paternal grandfather was from Santa Fe.

Can we expect to see Tommy Smith in the famous blue and white stripes in South Africa next year? It's looking likely!

Why are Pompey signing so many crap players???

Crap players? You're a mental if your're questioning the pedigree of Williamson, Piquonne, Smith, Brown and Eugenne Bopp.

To be fair Picquonne seems to be a useful acquisition

Williamson came out of thin air. He looked like Bambi on ice when here and don't remember him featuring here for Watford.

However Matt Mills went to Donnie Rovers on a free from Man City & couldnt make their starting line up but has been transferred for a miilion + so assume both have improved.

Have a nasty feeling the Gobsh*ites will sign enough players to stay up but all dependent if the fake Sheik is kosher

Now where are all of our Pompey friends..... They seem to have disappeared since the takeover was announced.

Not really, 2nd signing of the day sealed. Aruna Dindane in on loan to make him eligible for Sunday

you do know thats not Zinedine Zidane you have signed? (although as retired would fit your targeting Neimi, Finnan and that fat aussie)

Dindane is a talented player, but is completely hit 'n' miss.

This sums everything up perfectly for me:

Feel a bit sorry for Dindane now, looks like he was totally misinformed by his "friend"

Dindane, meanwhile, has won 40 caps for the Ivory Coast, and says Chelsea forward Didier Drogba was instrumental in helping him make the move to English football.

"I'm friends with Didier. I spoke to him on the phone and he said I was making a great choice coming to Pompey," Dindane told Portsmouth's website.

Slightly off topic I know, anyone else read Germaine Greers column in yesterdays London Evening Standard where it is questioned why anyone would want to lay down the best part of a million quid to buy a flat in such a godforsaken place as portsmouth. The article goes on to quote the time a minister compared an Iraqi city to Southampton only to be corrected by a soldier who said "theres no beer no prostitutes and people are shooting at us. its more like Portsmouth"

I think they will stay up, but only if they start to pick up points soon.If they get cut adrift and there is a 10 point gap it will be hard for them.Personally I think the Dr has made a no lose deal, and has been rather clever.

Has the City game sold out yet or are you still struggling to fill that little ****hole you laughably call a stadium! :D

By the way I've heard your not bothering with the minibus but have rented a Robin Reliant, surprisingly two seats still available! :smt116

difference is - I don't go onto your sites saying we are better side, we arn't.

We are miles behind you (personally would be surprised if that was the case in 2 years but who knows).

Unfortnuately for us, that is the most important comparison between clubs, albeit we are clearly better on all others.

How much was it the other night when you only got 6,000?

See that's why you don't need a new stadium, if it's the price keeping the 100s of thousands (guffaw) away it aint gonna be cheaper in the new place. If you can't regularly get more than 15,000 home fans in a 20,000 capacity now, you'll just struggle to get 15,000 in a 40,000 capacity. Let's face it it's never gonna get better for the blue-few than the last 5 or 6 years.

Still, look on the bright side, it's kids-for-a-quid next home game at fartton, you'll be able to go! :smt023

Another reason to hate that barclays bank

From the Mirror article posted above:-

"Storrie insists that if hadn’t been for key individuals, agents, clubs and Barclays Bank, Pompey would have gone under.

“In contrast to Standard Bank, who had a hold on all our finances, Barclays did everything they could to help us over the repayment of a £9.5 million loan."

I've always liked Barclays. Good bank, always sympathetic towards businesses that have a genuine long term future :smt049

He is doing a fair impression of Rupes, in that its everyboody's fault but his. He and Harry had nothing to do with the insane overspend and he had no idea that Daddy Gun-Runner really owned the club.

What I cannot fathom is why Pompey fans have fallen for his lies? Every opportunity now he's bleating about everyone elses actions, saying that he was an innocent party and didn't know what was going on... A CEO, who had no idea what was going on... ha, yeah.... complete ******** - Storrie was and is as much to blame as anyone else for the 'fallout'...

Al-Fahim is set to be on SSN shortly, apparently.

In other news, David James is not in the squad for today's game. Looks like he is off.

I thinks he's injured, jarred his neck looking at the prem tables.
