Pamplemousse Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Lots of hoofball. Plenty of empty seats. Not so much quality on display. And Rotherham go 1-0 up
Pamplemousse Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Hahahahaha, now the away fans are singing OWTSGMI
eurosaint Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Oooh eck.... Is it Rotherham or Rotterdam they are playing? Cup final syndrome I suppose (for the away team of course)
SW5 SAINT Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Oh dear, Rotherham lead 1-0, after not winning away in 27. Lets hope Rotherham rectify that stat today..........
Pedro Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Picture of their flag blowing in the wind, all torn and half shredded, even tators commented on it.
whelk Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Oh dear, Rotherham lead 1-0, after not winning away in 27. Lets hope Rotherham rectify that stat today.......... Fck me 3draws and 24 defeats out of last 27 aways. Fortress Fratton indeed.
Lets B Avenue Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Always liked Rotherham. My first Saints game was a 6-1 win against them in 1964. Even forgave them that appalling night in the FA Cup when Delgado showed what a waste of space he was.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 A few boos at the final whistle Surely not
eurosaint Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 (edited) Let's be fair to them, they're now mixing with the big boys ! Massive clubs like Rotherham with world class players such as Lee Frecklington are always going to pose a major challenge ! They did their best in a cauldron atmosphere with the faithful urging them on... but just fell short (not to mention the multi million, worldwide TV audience) ! Gonna be a long season but at least they are back in the big time Edited 3 September, 2017 by eurosaint
TwoPints Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Fratton Park is trending on Twitter as the Rotherham fans take the **** out of the atmosphere, or lack of it. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Golden Balls Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Just for the record, I was at Victorious all three days and I saw precisely three Skate football shirts the entire time (though a few more bootleg t-shirts with the football club logo on them and a couple of polo shirts). Anyway, under 10 in three days, on Southsea Common. . I've worked in Portsmouth (on the road) for nearly 9 years. The amount of skate shirts/badges I see these days are about 5% of what it used to be. See a lot of general big PL clubs shirts these days.
Golden Balls Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 I didn't watch the game but judging from twitter, the bestest fans in the world had a bit of a hangover.
warsash saint Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 Can always rely on P*mpey to cheer you up on a depressing day.
Pamplemousse Posted 3 September, 2017 Posted 3 September, 2017 The top two replies to Michael Eisner on Twitter make for an interesting read...

For full disclosure, I saw a bloke in a Skate tracksuit top on Hedge End Station yesterday. Obviously it was the badge from the last seasons in the Premier League and before the L1 relegation (2008-2013), not the one they've been using for the last 3 years.

The9 Posted 7 September, 2017 Posted 7 September, 2017 Teeeeeeeeeechnically the last season with the "Prem" badge was the first season as fan owned in L2. Their first Sondico shirt was adorned with the older badge before the rebrand they'd clearly planned whilst faffing about during the (last) L1 relegation season. Here they are against the mighty Newport County (which can really only be in L2 ). Remember this guy?

The9 Posted 10 September, 2017 Posted 10 September, 2017 They won away. We lost at home. Worst of all possible days I'm still fairly sure Saints' side playing as badly as they did yesterday would have comfortably beaten AFC Wimbledon yesterday...

Danbert Posted 12 September, 2017 Posted 12 September, 2017 Re, fat in the pipes... My dad grew up Portsmouth in the 1940s and apparently there used to be a completely different type of fatberg in those days. Fat from the sewers would gather together on the surface of the sea and drift away in huge lumps. So he claims, anyway. 'Total monster': fatberg blocks London sewage system

Golden Balls Posted 13 September, 2017 Posted 13 September, 2017 How does that freak not get banned? Pi5s1ng on seats, racial abuse, always hammered and now having a Tommy in the ground. Not that I want him banned. He is an embarrassment to them and kills their "famous atmosphere".

If so should be done by the law.

Danbert Posted 14 September, 2017 Posted 14 September, 2017 'Fratton boy' Portsmouth MP makes 'play up Pompey' maiden speech in House of Commons Apparently, Everton weren't the first club to play under floodlights after all. And, another reason that Portsmouth is great is that it was the the first town to open free clinics for the treatment of venereal disease - who'd'v'e thought that would be necessary? The big question, though, is, can he do the wardrobe dive?

Occasionally see him on the train, had no idea he was even political, never mind an MP. I'm fairly sure he's not into football either... Oh and re: the floodlights, Fratton was the first ground to play a Football League match under floodlights, the first English ground to have permanent floodlights was... The Dell. (Though only because the FL refused to allow Arsenal to do so in the 1930s). Everton was dugouts wasn't it? http://www.football-stadiums.co.uk/articles/history-of-floodlights-in-football/
Weston Super Saint Posted 15 September, 2017 Posted 15 September, 2017 To be fair, they've always had the bestestmost championship standard floodlights.
