Results elsewhere in L2 have not been kind to them so they're in the hideous position of not being able to relax for a second because there is still a notional, if wafer thin, chance of them making play-off heaven. But some clubs think they are not only bigger than their division, with a divine right to beat 'smaller' clubs, but they also bang on with the deluded notion that they have the best fanbase in world football. When all of that smug arrogance is buried by a club fairly new to league football, it makes it even funnier.

Says a lot about the quality of the football and the average pompey fan... ... but of course they much prefer it to being in the Premier League.

But if Pellegrini or David Moyes become available in the meantime no doubt the sleepiest giant in world sport will pounce! That's of course if the job isn't too big for them. What with their history. Their fanbase. And all that. Good times for pompey, less of a sacking, more of a giant step back towards the Premier League. Where they don't want to be. Because League Two is proper football. Makes me jealous.
