Reading the Pompey comments on the News, it seems that they have decided tht Ben Chorley is their new scapegoat a la Johnny Ertl last season. They are mightily hacked off that the next John Terry, "young Jack", has been left out today. Of course we know that "young Jack" was scalped last season in their youth team by Saints youth team in the 7-0 drubbing.

Chorley is the weak link. Said all season. The man cannot track and shows very little intelligent play. Mr AA you need to change who you pick not the coaches!!!

Hark is that the infamous portsmouth fc hero-zero-villain swingometer of villainy we can hear firing up

They're also up in arms about Awford tonight - dead man walking by the look of it with Waddock looking on with a carnivorous grin... But can Champagne Iain fire the bullet or not in the next few days?

Have they heard of de ja vu in Portsmouth? Bring someone in, they do okay for a bit. After a while it unravels. They then get sacked. Whittingham, Barker, Awford. It'll more than likely happen to Waddock next.

They're going to spend so much money paying off people that only spend a matter of months in the job that they'll be in more trouble, if they aren't already.

At least they still cheer us up when things are not going well.

We might be struggling at the moment but it's a struggle to stay in the top six in the country, not a battle to avoid non-league football accompanied by deluded claims of being the best supported, biggest fan-owned bunch of shareholders in the history of world sport.

Thanks.

Thank you RB for putting our 'woes' :D into perspective

It's a cunning plan to keep the board perpetually on the upside of the swing-o-meter.

Replace the manager every six months. That way nobody can blame the incumbent, because he's always lumbered with the previous villain's useless squad of timewasters, and when the o-meter swings, then the board gallantly step in to sack the current useless villain and replace him with a new hero. The "shareholders" will make sure the villain doesn't dare ask for compensation.

All while saving the club in their spare time.

Waddock isn't very popular in football, to my knowledge. New Oxford owners had no hesitation and ditching him for ex-Skate Appleton, plus Wycombe got shot of him very quickly after they were relegated to League Two - he having got them into League One in the first place...

It's all gone rather quiet or have with all been distracted by events in Yorkshire last night - perhaps a lot of nut jobs haven't made it back yet.

We are too busy having our own meltdown to worry about the meltdown going on down the road

Something is afoot. The signs are there. Not talking to the local papers any more. Staff departing suddenly. General meetings without audited financials. Tesco deal shelved.

It's coming.

a pompey fan I know asked me last night who the feck was laughing now - I had a look at the current league structure and would suggest that it's still pretty much us, and at a significant volume.

Once again a homeless bloke with no shoes is outside Buckingham Palace, peering through the railings and mocking the choice of curtains in the main drawing room.

Reminds me of when one of their two or three supporters accused us of schadenfreude when we laughed at their financial problems. Yeah because it's not as if they didn't do the same with us, or rubbed it in when we were relegated in 2005. Nope, not at all...

Duncan.......heard that they sold out of "Admin for Dummies" in the PO code.

Still not finished then, and for some strange reason there are no pictures of the Portacabin, fence and cones. Has anyone actually seen this marvellous new facility?

“That’s something we can all be proud of. It’s not what Manchester City or Arsenal have – but it’s ours.”

Strange, no mention of this. :smug:

Their really breaking new ground in general incompetence here. Why don't they just go the whole hog and re-brand to The King Street Tavern five-a-side Sunday League kick about team?

AA is godsend for body-language experts...Anyone like to have a shot at analysing that video.

Failed to mention their squad outnumbers the number of cones available for training sessions...bummer. It's either cut the squad or hope for more cones for Christmas

On Radio Solent this morning he was bemoaning the fact his size was too big and that it will give him problems in training.

The gist of it was that he only wants to work with the "better" players in the squad, so will have to create two groups in training, with the obvious problem of upsetting and alienating those who suddenly realise they are out in the cold and training away from the first team squad on the pitch in the far distant corner, which hasn't yet been cleared of dog poo and hypodermic needles, and being kicked by the uber-keen youngsters.

Storing up more trouble...

That is pretty much how every squad system works though.

Perhaps he could have a word with Monk from this board as he sometimes offers amateur teams cast off bits from his coaching job. Actually Monk, any spare cones, balls, etc. available for a bottom tier Hampshire WL women's team? We're almost as short of funds as Pompey..
