^This. I have followed this thread avidly for some time as a lurker, but only recently been spurred into registering, and then becoming a full member, as a consequence of the unremittting stream of b*llox emanating from Skateville. They can't dodge bullets for ever, but they've dodged so many over the years that they've begun to believe their own BS as they confuse charity with obligation. They really do believe they are entitled to a permanent seat at the top table and no-one here has been able to convince them otherwise, so hopefully they are on the last of their charmed lives now. COYHMRC!

Welcome aboard. I've noticed a lot of new names on here on recent weeks & a bit of fresh blood is what we need. We may come to look upon you as the Billy Sharp of the thread if you play your cards right.

i thought the pompey fans looked like pric-ks yesterday reminded me of a stag night of lower league fans on a jolly for one last time to blackpool,i bet all th other fans were laughing at the country bumpkins.

I still can't quite believe how utterly embarrassing they were last night. It was on a par with the clapping of Henry and Arsenal all those years ago. Fancy dress? Doing the conga? 2 minute "turn your back" protests? My good god.

if the comments on the Portsmouth News website are anything to go by the skates seem to think their support at Blackpool showed exactly why they are Greatest Fans in the WorldTM.

1/ I see Gillingham fans believe the lies that the Cheats have been telling them.

This is a link to a Gillingham fans site where it says that their Chairman - Paul Scally supports the Football Creditors rule.

http://www.gillsconnect.com/s/Gills_News_Desk/Entries/2012/2/6_SCALLY_SUPPORTS_THE_FOOTBALL_CREDITORS_RULE.html

In his comments he says "Portsmouth FC (left bottom), who became the first Premier League club to enter administration in 2010, their players and other football creditors were paid in full, around £30m, while other creditors received just 16p for every pound owed.".

As everyone on here knows the "other creditors have not received" anything yet.

Yet what really made my blood boil was the picture they showed - it is a picture of the inside of the "Toilet Bowl", as if they believe it has already been built.

2/ I see somebody has started up an e-petition to get the Football Creditors Rule overturned

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/4134

3/ There is also an e-petition asking the Goverment to Tax the Cheats like any other business (it is a pity about the "busSiness" spelling.

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/28780

I'm sure we can get these 2 petitions higher

Signed them - we should ALL do this otherwise the petitions won't stand a chance of being looked at.

From all the Pompey forums I've lurked on - I don't think they could cope with a thread this long....

It says more about the design and useability of this forum that it's stretched as long as it has TBH.

All Pompey and non SWF ones for Saints are more of a pain to bloody follow.

Yep, fair point. This style of forum is one the best in terms of usability. Ours is a bit old fashioned and unreliable. Bit like the club really :?

Were you one of the few joining in with the conga, fancy dress and "turn our back" protest yesterday?

If so, please don't embarrass yourself further.

If we're talking crowd celebrations judging by that gay wave you brought to Fratton, I think you've got more to be embarrassed by. Think John Fashanus daughter should have started and finished her documentary at your club.

Anyway thats my three posts for the day, won't be using our hard saved cva savings to support your website.

OMFG.

Found this on one of their forums.

"A few ill-informed and vicious comments added but the article is sympathetic to Pompey."

Portsmouth Football Club have been hit with yet another punch as the threat of administration looms – with manager Michael Appleton stating he is ‘ready for a points deduction.’

But is a points deduction really fair on Portsmouth Football Club?

Pompey’s recent dogged luck has been created by individuals who were inadequate to run the football club and a controversial system in which they were appointed: the so called Fit and Proper Person’s Test.

But surely the Fit and Proper Person’s Test should have ensured that they were suitable to run the club? It seems it has not.

Over the past five years, Portsmouth has had five owners, and during those years, has spiralled into more than £100m worth of debt. The club’s latest owner, Vladimir Antonov has been arrested in an inquiry into asset stripping, plunging Portsmouth into further financial trouble.

It seems that the club and fans are suffering from the alleged criminality that is separate to football business but yet still somehow affecting the club’s current state.

The latest group of people suffering at the centre of this fiasco are in fact the employees of the club; from the cleaners to the players. Frozen payments and redundancies have tainted Portsmouth’s reputation and has completely demoralised the fans.

This is in addition to the smaller local businesses who have lost money and were let down by previous agreements referring to the services they provided the club with.

The cry from Portsmouth supporters for a new owner is stronger than ever: one who has his or her heart set in the right place and can scrape the club off the bottom of the barrel and revive it.

So the question that should be asked is: Is it fair that this crisis is hitting the little groups, while the previous owners who caused this mess can slip away scot free?

For all their bleating about the fit and proper test, surely if their previous few owners had not passed it they would STILL be in administration.

Whereas your persona, like a lot of skates, is distinctly missing. If you had a personality then we could seriously clash.

Not any ordinary skate though! A plaasjapie to boot and one who doesn't care for his neighbours.

Never mind, you're one that we'll patronise, pat on the head and send you off to dream of your harbourdome, training grounds, Maradonna, Riquelme and crooked owners with untold riches. :D

And in less than one line you probably have shown more understanding of this whole sorry saga then the whole of the blue few put togeather. They constantly blame the FA / FL for not being stronger when it come to their owners and the F&PPT - but not one of them seems to have yet grasped it.

In the many instances where the club was 'available' to a new owner - how many 'takers' were there? How many people actually wanted to 'buy' or 'invest' in the club?

You can see the FA / FL meeting now:

Pompeys up for sale.

"We have serious applications from 3 wealthy and internationally reknowned business owners and 1 seedy geezer from wherever..."

"Yeah, no sweat - get rid of the 3 good guys and pass the seedy shyster...."

FFS - do you really think the people running the leagues are that stupid. The fact of the matter is they have been unable to attract anybody with any credibility for years. Had the FA / FL not been so lenient with the F&PPT - where the hell would they be now?

I don't want them to go bust - but they seem to think that it's everybody elses fault, and that they have been dealt a bum hand. If anything, they have been playing with an extra ace shoved up their sleeve for the last 10 years or so.

"...Portsmouth, which last week was given a seven-day stay of execution after getting more time to fight a winding-up petition, was brought to the brink after being taken to court by Britain's Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill of $2.5 million. "

Que? Does this mean HMRC caved in & their winding up court appearance is now 27th Feb 2012? I'm confused

Whilst admitting to having felt sorry for Appleton - I wonder what line they spun him? - This does sound a little naive:

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/appy_s_honest_admission_over_pompey_job_1_3512054

"While Appleton has declared he has no intention of walking away from Pompey, he has been honest enough to admit he would not have taken the job in its current guise.

Appleton said: ‘I had opportunities to leave West Brom well before I came to Portsmouth but they were not right for me.

‘Coming to Portsmouth wasn’t a gamble at the time.

‘It was a secure football club with secure owners and it was all hunky-dory. "

Guessing it's confused by the fact they didn't enter admin on Friday as was widely expected, and now have until next Friday to sort themselves out prior to the WUP hearing on the 20th...

That's twice now I have seen him talk about himself in the third person. It makes me cringe!

‘Given the tools, the right squad and a level playing field, I would back myself to get us out of this division – or at the absolute minimum, get in the play-offs

Yeah, I think I'd back the skates to be out of the championship if the playing field were levelled too...

According to a member on Pompey fans online we should hang our heads in shame for the attendance yesterday.

Kids for a quid, cheap Sun tickets, 600 free tickets and still can't fill half of St. Mary's according to him.

How would they stand if they missed the first CVA payment? Without an 'investor' even if they got the parachute payment I can't see that they could pay the players, pay the taxman, pay the first CVA and get to the end of the season. It just doesn't stack up.

A normal administration would be 10 point deduction. Failing to meet any CVA payments from the last CVA, a wish to have a payment advanced whilst not selling players in the window, would sit very uncomfortably with the other teams in the division. What if one of the other teams asked for monies to be advanced that they're expecting in the summer, just so they could keep their squad together? As a creditor (tax payer), I'm uncomfortable with PPs that have been earmarked for the last CVA, being used to pay players. It basically further diminishes any chance we have of getting the 20p in the £ back. Due to the last CVA the implications of advancing PPs are pretty complex I'd imagine.

There should be some pretty hefty strings attached to any advance of parachute payments - whether that's automatic relegation, or a massive points hit, I don't know.

Chinny shot his wad last season in his quality over quantity gamble to go up. I predicted then that he'd pull the plug if (as we expected) it would fail. But this was postponed temporarily as he succeeded in finding a couple of crooks (allegedly) with filthy money to keep them running for half a year or so. Now that Chinny is within touching distance of his next beloved parachute payment, I'm sure he's not going to lose any sleep over any strings attached to bringing it (and maybe the last one too) forward.

The last thing he wants to do now is waste money on trivial things like players and staff salaries. If the FL tell him that Cheats FC have to go down 13 divisions, along with a 150 point penalty, to have those payments brought forward, I'm sure his response will be "where do I sign?"

I have one question....

Just how wealthy is Mr. Chainrai?

I know people don't get filthy rich by writing off £17m "investments" but I'm sure a 'seriously rich' person would have written off their Pompey gamble by now. Which, leads me to believe that Chainrai, whilst richer than you or I, can't be in the 'seriously rich' bracket, can he?

How rich is he in the general scheme of things? Perhaps he simply can't afford to write off what would be small change for the likes of, say, the Liebherr family (rubbing-salt-into-the-wounds comparison very much intended)

Lancing a boil or chopping off an arm and a leg?
