Lallana wants out (2009)

He's ****e anyway and, like Surman, is a Champ player at best.

If we can get over £1m for him I'd be delighted. Someone should give Mick McCarthy a ring as he seems determined to buy loads of lower league players.

he's doesn't like Wotte.

Skillful lad but not sure what his position is;

too lighweight for midfield, not fast enough/good enough crosser for wing, not natural scorer??

Where do you put him?

We need a simple balanced side, if he wants out get rid of him as quick as possible.

Yep.

Disappointed with his attitude, to be honest - since he got the England U21 callup in September he's been average at best. Clearly thinks very highly of himself.

He's got the potential to be a very good player, but he'll only become that player through hard work - something it seems he's not prepared to put in here.

I thought he was going to be a superstar, and got quite angry when people slagged him off

Come the end of the season, I had to eat my words

He was absolutely terrible for the second half of the season.

I think his head was turned by the Under 21 appearance & Fulham's apparant interest

We should cash in & get rid of him IMO

Not as good as he thinks he is - lightweight and can't shoot for toffee. He didn't even look Championship standard last season. Typical of many youngsters coming through today; think they've made it when all the hard evidence is to the contrary.

Exactly.

He is a "hole" player, but unlike MLT, Gazza, Rooney etc. he can't kick the ball very well and so is unlikely to ever score.

He's got potential bt needs to settle on a position. Havng 3 lighweight, can't tackle, midfielders (Lallana, McGoldrick and Surman) in the side at the end of the season was one of the main reasons we couldn't grind out results. Would like to keephim but he's not so good that we should be to upset if he goes.

He's wanted out since January.

It doesn’t help when he really doesn't have a position though, I’m sure he's as confused as the rest of us.

tbh i don't think players like him are the right sort of players for a L1 scrap - that's what it'll be, not pretty one touch football and flicks.

It'll be a shame to see him go, but I won't be losing sleep over it.

If Wotte stays I think you will find other players are not too happy either. We need a boss all the boys will play for. Not unhappy about Lallana,he may go on to better things but I don't think so...let him go and take the money...wish him well.

very dissapointed about this. I'd hoped he would give us one more season - Commons did for Forrest, two in fact - and now I wonder who is worth watching at the club. A season of Wotton, Gillett, etc doesn't inspire me. Yet more quality we won't be able to replace...

No Poncy Football at the moment just good results I would have thought

Agree - he has potential and could go all the way but...................

Get rid of him we need men to get out this league not pansys like him.

If we can get rid of Schneiderlin as well this could turn into a top summer.

Yeah, lets ditch all our creative players! Le Tiss wouldn't have stood a chance with Saints if fans had the same attitude back then!

Lallana is an excellent player who will go on to great things, if he gets into a club that will develop him and play to his strengths, he will shine for many years. Unfortunately, his attitude towards Saints and putting in the effort is totally wrong and he is yet another player who needs a change to achieve his potential. (Kevin Davies is Club Captain at Bolton and still scoring goals in the Prem!)

Schneiderlin has just captained his country's U20's team, to 4th place in a summer tournament, so he must be rubbish (sic!). If we can hold on to a couple of the creative players, we will benefit greatly. If his attiude is ok, we should keep him, but as plenty of Prem clubs have shown an interest previously, I would expect him to go too. He didn't shine in our team last season, but no-one else did either.

First post prompted by some of the ludicrous posts on here.

So we're letting the best players go with a good riddance, are we? We have an awful manager who plays an inflexible diamond system which creates no space at all in which to play. We're left with the option of constantly whacking the ball upfield by-passing anyone in midfield who might be able to put their foot on it, find space and pass. No wonder the likes of Llallana want off. We're going to end up with a load of hoofers playing dreadfully dull football again if this manager stays.

The only damper on this fantastic takeover in my view is his likely continued involvement in our first team and the effect it'll have upon our most skilful players, the quality of our football and, I believe, ticket sales.

Sorry. Rant over!

You can't compare Le Tissier to any of our current rabble. He was about 10 times better than Lallana and Schneiderlin. We built the team around Lallana at the start of the season and apart from winning a couple of penalties and a goal at QPR he didn't do much at all.

I couldn't give a toss what Schneiderlin does for the u20's he's been **** for us from day one. I wouldn't be against him staying since he's only 19 but lets not pretend he's anything special we could have got much better value for money from our 1.2m we spent.

Cheerio then.

Went missing for huge parts of last season and showed little effort at times. It seemed to me that when things were going well he was superb... when the going got tough he went missing.

I have to completely agree with all of this, although given choice I would like to keep Lallana. Especially seeing as how we're not strapped for cash any more. (Feels so good saying that :D)

Lallana has potential but really has flattered to deceive. I'm baffled how Chez managed to bash Skacel for not delivering, when he was always good for a few decent crosses, a handful of assists and the odd goal. Yet at the same time he can sing Lallana's praises when he hasn't delivered anything of note since October. A bit of fancy footwork, some nice dribbling... no delivery on the end of it though and shoots like a fairy princess. For most of last season is was like watching Hammill the year before in my eyes. He has got potential, but other than that one goal at QPR, nothing he's done has really given me a semi so far.

Schneiderlin, yeah maybe playing in the French U21s suits him, but the middle reaches of English football don't. A few fancy touches, but 0 goals, 0 assists and when the going gets tough, he just loses all interest. I'd take any reasonable offer for him. The only difference between him and Griffitt was the price tag.

At his age, I doubt if he can improve that powder- puff shot of his. You need more than that to score goals from midfield in this or any other league.

Adam Llalana has played well for Saints in one position, that which Nigel Pearson played him in up front. The Dutch coaches have continually played players out of position and Llalana is a prime example of this. Wotte is a problem I'm afraid tactically very out of touch and also cannot feel the right position for players - he has proved this already. I really hope Wotte is moved on.............

I bashed Skacel for being a diving cheater, who was lazy, doing the absolute bare minimum in games - I will never forget the incident at Reading where he shrugged his shoulders at the idea of tracking his man, having a very poor engine (running out of steam afetr 60 minutes) and being very poor value for money. He had a very good first touch and offered a little bit of class, but not nearly enough for the hero worship and crowd waving that followed. We will miss his professionalism (being `fouled' going for header, or bumped in the back) but I won't miss his cheating.

Lallana is all about potential. One season (well not even that) and he already looked the nuts. He has a great first touch, real confidence and ability on the ball and in time he will become a very good player. You have to remember that he suffered a band ankle knock and that set him back a long way. He struggled when he came back and the wide right role did not suit him at all. He needs to see the ball all the time.

Each to his own but I know which player I wanted to see in a Saints shirt this season coming.
