Only saw him twice. Charlton and Burnley at home and he was crap in both. Might be ok in league one though

Unfortunately they were his two ''horror shows'' but on the whole, he was a very capable championship defender.

Will be class in L1.

Would be a great signing, if we're going to spend any money this summer it should be on him.

a defence of Mills - Thomas - Size - Murty would be immense in L1. With Perry, Lancashire, Reeves and James as back up.

From what I've seen of Lancashire he isn't good enough, would rather him sent out on loan to a L2 or BSQP team & somebody else bought in. I posted earlier to no reply asking if Alan Bennett has been signed by anybody yet? He was at Brentford on loan last season & released by Reading in the summer, now he'd be good backup and on a free as well. Then just another left back & we'd be sorted.

I see that Sam Sodje has not been signed up by anyone since his release from Reading. I think he could be a good signing as he would bring some much needed pace to the back 4.

he was usually 9 or 10 out of 10. Sign him up.

Would certainly be capable at this level.

Now on paper that looks very good - be nice to have KD behind those.

The problem with this defence is that there is no way Thomas will be able to stay injury free throughout the whole season.

We looked far better last season when we kept the same central defenders for a consistent run of games.

If we can get Thomas off the wage bill I would be far happier having either Bennett - Size or Sodje - Size, as they could hopefully play 40+ games together next season.

According to the family (and the website) WHU don't have any preseason matches until the weekend...

Sorry stand corrected, he was lined up to play against Grays at the weekend, whether he does after todays announcement remains to be seen but if he is offered premiership football over league one then you can't blame him, a no brainer really.

Get Saeijs and keep Thomas as well. The we have two 'first knock' centre backs who will go an dwin the ball in the air. Perry to read the bits and pieces.

Lancashire is p!ss poor...unless he's really beefed up since I last saw him.

No you couldn't blame him - but the choice isnt totally clear cut. Stay at Saints, play first team football, keep your kids and missus happy and be a local hero - or go to WHU, earn more money, play mostly reserves, have domestic hassle and be invisible.

I think that's clear cut for most football players.

Also, Davis is a confidence player big time.... it took him 2 years to recover from his Sunderland nightmare. In those 2 years he was ****e for us. I don't think he's the sort to be able to maintain top form playing once a fortnight in front of 3 men and a dog.

Sign him up Wotte. Would be great in L1 and not too expensive.

Must admit, when asked about him Wotte wasn't too negative about getting him back in and admitted JPS liked it here.

Does anyone know how his club's relegation battle went and whether he may be back?! A good, strong acquisition for League One I feel.

Usually - but if his mortgage is paid off, he's got £1m+ in the bank and his kids dont want private school - who knows.

Very true

...sometimes looks solid but some players have made him look very ordinary, does have a little bit of pace but slightly error prone

He'll fit into League 1 nicely then.

He showed real committment last year, so I'd say get him in!

If Wotte stays then I think we will re-sign Saeijs on a permanent deal.

If Wotte goes, it's unlikely but I'd be more than happy to have JP back.

He did a good job for us last season and would be decent in League One.

I'm so c ock a hoop (and p1ssed at the same time)....we've gone from not having a pot to p1ss in to being able to sign the best players that League 1 can attract...and they're no longer very expensive in the general scheme of things either....oh, happy days

Maybe that's where we've been going wrong.

He is a young player. It is in the nature of things that young players get better.

If Lancahsire was going to make it, he would be a regular (at least in the squad) by now. He isn't 18 or 19 anymore.

I was talking about a crowd at a reserve match... you were talking about a defence. Who was the dog ?

Lancashire was a bit 'ruff' last season.

I'd rather see Perry instead of Thomas.

Thomas and Size are too similar in style, whilst Size attacks and Perry sweeps up. Kind of like how Claus and Killer worked but not as good.

I'd also want to see James in midfield just for his crossing alone.

not all players reach their peak at 18 or 19 you know, and central defenders are renown for being ****e in their early years. Rio Ferdinand made error after error in his early years at West Ham. I'm not saying Lancashire will male it, but he is very composed and is quick enough. he has a lot to learn but lets not hound him out just yet shall we.
