Takeover deal complete

Anyone who thinks MLTs reputation has been really damaged by this is a bit odd, imo.

I prescribe just 2mins watching his goals on YouTube.

In fact, here you go - on me :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSsdfe4Z69g

Spot on alpine, MLT's reputation will not have been damaged, he tried to do something for the club he dearly loves.

You can watch those goals for years and never become bored, clearly outstanding.

Good evening everyone

First of all, I would like to express my own welcome to the new owners of this great Club. Whilst selfishly dissapointed that our deal did not come to fruition, I am selfessly pleased that a new owner, who looks to be a great prospect, has bought the Club.

I know many will ask questions over the coming days and weeks about the other parties interested in the Club, and whilst I'll be happy to answer anything within reason (and permissible under the NDAs which I had to sign), I really hope this is the beginning of a new era in the Clubs history and you guys get all that you deserve.

For my part, having become involved with the Club in an advisory capacity to interested parties, I've got somewhat of a bug - and I must confess that I may well now have to make the time to come and support the team.

I wish the new owner all the very best, and I really do hope that all of your true fans can unite and give your total support to make this Club great again. You guys are the bread and butter of the future, and I'm sure the vast majority of fans will turn out in their numbers and do their bit.

All the very best

Tony

You tried your best so thanks for that. Hope you get to a few games and see the fanbase we have.

Yep, this is the man who made that screaming, foul-mouthed, racist Brigitte Nielsen-without-her-two-most-interesting-features lookalike look like a complete gimp with that chip.

This man is a f**king hero without modern-day peer. End of.

Does it matter anymore ?

Just f**king drop it.

Hold the bus Alps, I believe what has been suggested on here could potentially damage his business, therefore he should be allowed the opportunity to put the record straight, if anything, recent events have shown that this forum is read by many, almost read it here first then the Echo/Mail, so my question, which is without ulterior motive, was fair imo

It hasn't done his business reputation much good. As an ST holder for most of his best years at the Dell I don't need reminding of his talent. That last goal against Arse at the Dell was particularly special.

btw - have you seen your thread on TUI?

It may be a fair question, and there may be a time and a place for it. But today, on a thread where he simply dropped by to congratulate us and the new owner simply isnt it.

I had grave doubts about the whoe MLT as Chairman malarkey. Great player, knows his burgers but a business man? Anyways, hopefully he can take over from LM as a "front man".

He was probably very silly to let himself be used but we all know his heart was in the right place and that is what counts.

Still, that is all behind us now, time to look ahead.

Ok, can you let me know when the time is right ! was it the right time when the accusations were made ?

A) I think, had Tony felt the need to defend himself, he'd probably have done so through the press rather than this forum or offered up his own explanation here

B) The way you've asked the questions appeared to me to be more threatening than trying to help

C) We've found a buyer. COYR

Tony, Good Evening

will you publically answer to the allegations, although currently only alluded to, that you/Pinnacle may have acted fraudulantly during the process ?

Regards

Threatening ? where ? was it the "Good Evening" or the "Regards" maybe it was the "may have" even "allegations" ?? both you and Alpine are way off the mark

Why should a businessman who's come onto the forums to give his best wishes have to answer to you asking him to answer allegations of corruption?? Are you a journalist? Re-read your question after considering Tony's intentions of his post.

Firstly because accusations have been thrown at him(not by me ffs) that may affect his credibility as a businessman, secondly he stated he would answer, within reason, questions.

I don't need to re-read F uck all

I agree, all this "it takes guts to come here bull**** from some..etc", Guts? What to write a few lines? Does it take guts to try and ruin a club in four weeks? Does it take guts to mislead a bunch of people desperate to see 'their' club saved? Does it take guts to bull**** everyone around you?

I can't balme TL personally because we don't know the full story (at least who are not ITK, most it now seems), it would take guts to come out with it TL, the whole lot and then maybe you might be welcome at SMS as you are now a Saints supporter blah, blah, blah!

Of all the posts you have made that is probably the hardest you have had to write, and is certainly a magnanimous response in the circumstances.Thank you for your best endeavours Tony .

In hindsight though it is regretable that MLT was involved and for the life of me I cannot think what was intended by wheeling out a penniless jew from Barnet as a financial backer. All now in the past however.

Best wishes.

Why don't you lot get a life and just celebrate the fact we're still in existence. Tony's lot had the best intentions I am sure. I doubt Matty would have continued with his disappointment at not getting the chance with Pinnacle today on SSN if they hadn't had the best intentions. They tried, you halfwits, now raise a glass and look forward to the good times.

Tony,

As probably one of the bigger sceptics/critics of the Pinnacle bid, i think it best that you let bygones be bygones and just move on with your life/career and forget about failed adventures.

Now is the time to move on.

How true

I'm pretty sure some of these actually defy the laws of physics!

If anyone can/could, it is MLT

FWIW, i have no less respect for the man (probably more) - he tried, and listening to him today on SSN made me realise he is as happy and relieved as all of us.

There is only one MLT

From Times online. An interesting theory on why ML bought us:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6666035.ece

was just about to post that! great minds etc..

'The Times understands that part of the attraction of the club to Liebherr, a deeply religious man, was that they were formed in 1885 by members of the St Mary’s Church of England Young Men’s Association, hence the “Saints” nickname.'

interesting, nice to think this all goes full circle, he is interested in and fully aware of our history. Fantastic!

Like everyone else on here i have been following the events of our soap saga of a takeover on a daily if not hourly basis, i believe i have worn out my refresh button and worn out my better half with my constant ramblings about failed bids etc.

When the news came through yesterday afternoon that we had all been waiting for i was elated as the next Saints fan but rather than type away at my keyboard and join in the celebrations i went and id some gardening and simply reflected on being a Saints fan.

Without our club and without our history and all the ups and downs we have had to endure it just would not be the same.

We are Southampton no matter what life chucks at us. You can keep you Chelski's, Manure and the rest, there is only one club that gives a fan every emotion under the sun and that SFC.

Here's to a bright new future and a united Southampton on and off the pitch :D

Apologies if this has already been posted, but a Swiss colleague sent me this link:

http://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/international/ein-schnaeppchen-123211

Mostly all things we've heard before, but a couple of quotes which were new to me. Roughly translated:

Liebherr does not want to reveal the purchase price, however, speaks of a "modest financial commitment."

As to the question, why Liebherr did not decide to get involved with a Swiss club instead: "I'm not a football expert, but this project seemed very appealing." And further: "It was a unique opportunity. I had to decide quickly. "

bit more here

Today that becomes deal officially. In relation to VIEW Markus dear gentleman (61) says, it wants Southampton on a long-term basis “back to the point to lead”. The association had descended end of the last season into the third league, after the owners had to announce insolvency. Although the FC Southampton except a Company-Cup (1: the association won, can 0, 1976 against ManU) no national title on faithful followers count. Markus dear gentleman is one of five children of the German entrepreneur Hans dear gentleman. 2008 obtained the exempt private company of the same name 8.4 billion franc conversion. In the year 2000 Markus dear gentleman created Mali holding with seat in Fribourg, which specialized in injection and propulsion technology. The new owner of club is an uncle of the jumping horsewoman Christina dear gentleman. The exempt private company gesponsert in the past among other things the soccer players of Graz. Dear gentleman wants to express himself not to the purchase price, speaks however of a “modest capital commitment”. In view of the real estate, which Southampton possesses, it was actually “an good deal”. The club has a modern stadium, good training possibilities and a first-class new generation department. It is guessed/advised without own being to blame for into the misery: “There were too many groups, among themselves fought each other.” Only the question arises, why dear gentleman does not engage himself with a Swiss club. “I am not a football specialist, but this commitment appeared to me very delightfully.” And further: “It was a unique opportunity. I had to decide rapidly.”

LOL - good old Babelfish I presume - unless you are a Swiss translator - in which case you need to think of a career change :-)
