Just back from game , Goban scored saints second with a back flip , few of the youngsters looked lively , surprised to see Thomas , Jo Tessem was a real waste of time playing up front in first half , not sure who got the first was at the wrong end.

 

Lots of faces there , John mortimer with some people in suits who I have never seen around SMS in the past , was an ok game but disapointed that we did not look like creating to many problems for Totton . Tony Husband from Solent was there , apperantly he was over heard talking on his mobile saying the take over has been completed ...

Best player first half I thought was Oscar Gobern, 2nd half was Reeves best goal was the Totton second goal a real powerful header.

Of course , he was quite open he was not trying to shield his conversation at all , many people were asking who the people were that were in suits with John Mortimer , they were well shadowed in the stand

Really poor all round performance IMO. Created practically nothing going forward. How we scored twice I do not know. You couldnt tell from looking that we were the League 1 club.

 

We need to bring in some experienced heads soon, or next season will be a real worry.

Jo Tessem was absolutely gash lol. Me and my mates tried to give him some encouragement but his first touch was truly shocking, he passing was abysmal, and the one chance he had on goal (a free header) he completely missed.

To be honest ... what was Wotte thinking playing him up front as a striker , Im not sure the lad was in the second half ( our number 10 ) played alongside Rasiak but he looked very lively , along with Goban there were moments of some nice play but it did lack that final some thing !!!!

Was very impressed with Wayne Thomas second half, was always barking out orders to the players, and was very encouraging to the younger lads. Sam argent (i think) at CB in 2nd half looked a little shakey but has a lot of potential.

The explanation on the OS isnt right lol. It says a scrappy shot my jake thompson was turned into the net. Infact what happened was oscar gobern played a neat ball cross field to Thomson who had acres of space on the right wing all game. He darted to the forward and tried to cut the ball back across goal, but the ball hit a sliding defender and rebounded in.

 

Was definately an OG though, Jak Thompsons pass was moving away from the goal before it was turned in

Nice to see Gobern and Thomson putting in performances in their actual positions.

 

Sounds like Doble did well again, will be interesting to see.

 

All I need to know now was that Thomas was utterly dominant in the air but looked a bit shaky with people running at him, and that Pulis was utter pants and I'll be glad I couldn't go, cos it sounds just like the Eastleigh game.

 

We are completely lacking urgency on the pitch by the sounds of it - if I'd seen them playing half-baked preseason and then suddenly stepping it up a level when the league began I'd be ok with it, but we did this last pre-season and didn't hit form until February (for about a fortnight)...

And for christ's sake can we stop moaning about poor pre-season performances four weeks before the start of the season! These games are fitness builders, we're not going to win everyone 10-0, it's not Football/Champ Manager.

well it was just unusual to see John Mortimer surrounded by these guys who seemed all kitted out just to go to Totton and yes I have seen Jm many times at SMS , usually on his own walking around the outside on his own , the people he was with were un known faces thats all , I was not the only one at the ground who were making acomments about it , its an observation ..as for moaning about the game ..surely we paid our tenner and can make any assumptions we like , at times it was crap ...

Not worried about early pre seaspn friendlies.Team will be very different shortly with players like Davis,John,Euell & BWP hopefully signing new contracts and available and Llalana and Schneiderlin back.Add Murty & Thompson and Holmes if he ever stays fit.

 

I reckon JP Seijs will probably sign if Wotte stays which seems likely.Even Saga might stay.

 

There are plenty of players still available on frees and loans so I wouldn't be surprised if we brought in a couple of players.

 

We might even spend a bit of money to bring in 3-4 players as I'm sure the Swiss will want us to start building a side that can challenge.Interesting and exciting times.

 

Hence I will lose no sleep tonight worrying about a 2-2 draw with Totton

Our first goal was a pullback from Jake Thompson which was kindly converted by a Totton defender.

 

Totton pulled one back almost immediately after we went 2-0 up.

 

What was worrying was the way our defence froze when the cross came in for their equaliser with the last touch of the game (excluding the restart).

Bart, Lallana and Saga were all there last night just not playing. The best thing that we saw was Kelvin in footie kit warming up before the start - please, please hurry up and do the deal so we can sign him - he still wants to stay :-)
