Big Bad Bob Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 as I said earlier, don't understand why he doesn't ring up and put it on his credit card- its immediate! Would you? What would the purchase interest be on £15M? Anyway he's probably maxxed them all out
BARCELONASAINT Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 It is bloody ridiculous, one minute we cant find anyone remotely interested in buying us and are virtually at deaths door and then come along two loaded parties that are desperate to buy us. It beggars belief that this overseas group are now complaining....if they had wanted us that badly they should have pulled their bloody finger out weeks if not months ago  Come on Swiss just complete today and let this be an end to it!! What a farce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come off it! In reality we know absolutely eff all about either bid. We all make assumptions, but we don't have any FACTS or details yet. I do not believe for a minute that there will be anything wrong with either bidder group, but FFS have we not learnt ONE lesson in the past Going Wilde, reaching for the Pinnacle hysteria? So the reaction should be - phew - a back up that isn't TL or MJ exists.
DT Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 There was me thinking Switzerland was 'overseas'... We're all getting carried away. Surely transfer of funds is the key point, not some minor issue. Cheque's in the post, and all that. Personally I'm optimistic but cautious. We've been here too many times. Oh, and we don't know what on earth the new owner's plans are. For all we know he plans to sell the ground to Pompey...

Dr Who? Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Right the monies should be transfered by latest 11am this morning. I take it they have wored it CHAPS and not done it by BACS which (can) take up to 2/3 days!! Just to get our backs up they have probably paid BACS ha ha ha!! Dr Who? Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Source? ta Sorry just in general if a funds transfer is made by wire (CHAPS) it will clear the same day if made before 2 or 3pm. As they made the payment afterwards then it is carries forward to the next morning and will clear in a couple of hours. BACS will take two days unless it is between two certain banks then it will take 2/3 working days, but can clear the same day as the transfer. I am sure that as we are talking million's they will be a longer process than this and we should here something on Friday

A good point, compared to a UK based buyer someone with Euros to spent will be getting an even better deal on the purchase price and the better chance of being able to sell at a profit in the future if/when the Pound strengthens against the Euro. Evo Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 It will surely be t/t, CHAPS is UK Interbank innit. The biggest Postal Order you can get is now £250. So, if the printer machine is broken and they are having to write out c. 50,000 Postal Orders by hand it could take some time.
