Matthew Le God Posted 7 July, 2009 Share Posted 7 July, 2009 Markus Liebherr, however, had changed his life plans and gave most of his shares in the company back to his brothers and sister. He's skint!!! He gave it all away. :'( :smt073 I'm sure he didn't give it back for free to his brother and sister. Also he runs his own group of companies. See the link I found. nickfinks Posted 7 July, 2009 Share Posted 7 July, 2009 In the early 1970s, Hans Liebherr moved his residence from Germany to Switzerland in order to avoid the hefty German inheritance tax. Then Hans Liebherr transferred stock ownership in his enterprise to his children. The company was split in two parts: a German holding company for all business activities in Germany and another holding company based in Switzerland for all the other subsidiaries. Hans, Jr., Markus, and Hubert Liebherr received equal shares in the German holding company. Willi and Isolde Liebherr were co-owners of the Swiss holding company. However, despite the transfer of ownership, Hans Liebherr remained in control of his enterprise through a power of attorney with each of his children. In 1983, the company's headquarters were moved to Switzerland after the establishment of the new Swiss-based management holding company Liebherr-International AG. After Hans Liebherr's daughter and four sons had finished their education in their late 20s and early 30s, they all started working as full-time executives at their father's business. The company founder's oldest son, Hans, Jr., studied engineering and economics. Willi Liebherr became a mechanical engineer, while his younger brother Markus studied engineering with an agricultural focus. Hubert, the youngest of the Liebherr brothers, became a construction engineer, and their sister Isolde studied business administration. Hubert Liebherr managed an excavator plant in Algeria, Isolde was responsible for the hotels, and the other Liebherr siblings had management positions in production or marketing. However, around 1990, Hubert Liebherr gave his share in the family business back to his father. Second Liebherr Generation Takes Over in 1990 When company founder Hans Liebherr died in 1993, at age 78, his industrial enterprise generated roughly $2.5 billion in sales annually. Now it was time for the second Liebherr generation to take over management of the family enterprise. Hans, Jr. took over responsibility for the crane and concrete mixing business, Willi for earth moving equipment, and Isolde for the refrigerator production and hotels. Markus Liebherr, however, had changed his life plans and gave most of his shares in the company back to his brothers and sister. Hans, Jr., Willi, and Isolde met every other week to discuss the basic decisions concerning investment, product development, and finances. He's skint!!! He gave it all away. :'( :smt073 lol, well at least he had 12.5 odd million to get us out the **** for now

SaintBobby Posted 7 July, 2009 Share Posted 7 July, 2009 I am sure that I speak for all Saints fans (with common sense) that this sort of behaviour and posting should result in immediate bans. What if Markus were to see this board and he was related to her in some way? He would almost certainly pull out of the deal, as would any right minded individual. Come on guys, let's not ruin this deal by smutty comments. I completely agree. Sundance and a couple of other Lowe luvvies kept the old board in place for months with their campaigning on this forum. GM's biting analysis of the Pinnacle consortium caused MLT, Tony Lynam and Michael Fialka to understandably withdraw their c.£500m investment, and who can blame them? The consequence of posting suggestive pictures of a family member of Marcus Liebherr - particualrly salacious posts about his sister - could destroy the prospect of a billionaire buying our club, even at this late hour. It's reckless, irresponsible and potentially fatal for Southampton FC. When Mark Fry and others have been talking about there being a few last details to sort out, we all know what they mean. The potential buyer goes onto this forum and if he/she/they find any negative or juvenile comments about their wealth, nationality or family members, they walk away form the negotiating table. We should never lose sight of the fact that a few ill-judged posts on this forum have been the basic cause of all of the club's problems in the last few years. It's time to grow up. And those whose behaviour is causing this mayhem should be banned from the forum immediately. :smt067:smt067:smt067:smt067:smt067:smt067
