unless we crumble during our second innings, like we've done once or twice in the past

true....reckon rain will play apart tomorrow and will not allow enough time to have a full 2nd innings..

am a tad let down with the venue....all the hype and it is a bit of a damp squib...

dont reckon it will be at cardiff next time

559/5 and no real sign England are going to get either Haddin or North out. Surprised they have missed the rain as it has been raining here and RSP at Taunton where Hants are playing.

This is just desperate, if the game is rained off it will be a MASSIVE psychological victory to the aussies, one which could possibly haunt us for the rest of the series.

The only way we can save anything from this game is for it not to rain and for England to bat calmly and intelligently and only loose a wicket or two. But everyone must be fearing the same thing now, that as soon as we are put into bat the pitch will explode into life and we'll just fall to pieces.

So the test side's deeply unhealthy off/on relationship with Harmison looks set to continue.

Well i have to say that Strauss is a very very poor captain. His choice of bowlers is utterly predictable and he has no imagination - why didn't he at least try a few overs by KP or Bopara?

Strauss alsa seems unable to motivate the team or raise spirits when they're down. I fear he is not goign to pass muster.

Same old, same old.

Could someone who is into cricket enlighten me as to why Botham and the other sky team were saying that it's not so much that England were bowling poorly; more that the ball wasn't swinging.

Then the Aussies bowl again and take two quick wickets. I put it down to them being better bowlers but it would appear there is more to it than that.

I know there are new balls and all that but on a like for like basis, why couldn't we do with the ball what the Aussies have shown is perfectly capable ?

I got the impression that if they hadn't of declared this afternoon, then they looked like they could have got about 1000 runs if they chose to, we just looked like we hadn't got a clue what to do and the bowling looked so mundane from England.

Hmm well if the rain stays away it will be a tough last day for England. it's a shame about Bopara as it was perhaps the first mistake the umpires had made this game.

Still think it will be a niec and competative series

Match drawn. Well played Monty + Jimmy!

YES!!!!!!!!

In your tiny face Ponting!!!!!

And I've got to say how amazing the crowd was, the welsh really know how to support a team.

The best way to hurt Ponting is to get the aussie press on his back, to them he's still the guy that lost the ashes. Thats what drives Ponting, but its also what could break him :D

:(

Winning the first test didn't help us last time I suppose.

Can't question the performance of our players. It was a dominant performance from what's really an inexperienced team at test level. Full credit to Hauritz but it's just not the same without Warney.

Congratulations to England anyway. Looks like it might be another classic series coming up.

got away with that one. Well done Collingwood, Monty and Anderson. I hope they all get a kick up the behind before the next test though. My change would be Monty out Harmison in.
