NickG Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 If he had the medical the middle of last week it suggests Wotte was right in that he is delaying WHU as long as possible to see if the takeover goes through - suggest Saints is still, even with bigger money premiership offer on the table - his first choice
s0108787 Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 (edited) I agree, but only if we get a David Coles type as goal keeping coach. Speaking of which, found an 'old' interview http://www.great-save.com/Pages/featcoles Anyone got a video of the paul jones save at Old Traffod that DC talks about in the interview? I remember it being better than the banks save too, awsome! Edited 6 July, 2009 by s0108787
eharty9 Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 i hope bart plays as number 1 next season and if he gets his confidence back which he showed glimpses of at eastleigh coming out for crosses well and one great save in the top corner, he has the potential to be even better than davis, we have to remeber how young he is ! Bart for number 1!!

SaintDonkey Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 I'm kind of hoping the absense of any confirmation today means that he knows something we don't about the closeness of a takeover, and the ambitions of those involved.
Bailey Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 Have heard today that Kelvin is still holding out for this takeover to be concluded before signing a new deal at Saints. West Ham have set him a deadline so if there is no news by the end of the week, then I think we'll see him leave to join West Ham.
Whitey Grandad Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 That is good news. When I read about West Ham last week I had written him off. Let's get this sorry saga put to bed and we can all go off and enjoy our summer.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 Shame. But you cant blame him with the continuing uncertainty. He proved to be a better keeper last season and showed some loyalty towards us by not legging it sooner. Will be missed. But he has legged it though hasn't he? Dannyboy_Saint Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 Have a look at most of the goals scored in league 1 and you'll see that loads are long range shots that only go in because the keepers at this level are frankly crap. A decent keeper is worth his weight in gold in this league and so hope Davis is able to stay on at saints.
David Strover Posted 7 July, 2009 Share Posted 7 July, 2009 I second that. You have to watch the 'highlights' to see how many long-rangers go in, how many 'glued to the goal-line' goals are scored and the usual list of 'I could have done better goals' - get yourself a good goalie and you're taking a big step toward having a decent League Division Three team. Only a step mind you.....
david in sweden Posted 7 July, 2009 Share Posted 7 July, 2009 Do you think he'll get a game there? get a game at West Ham ??? Don't forget, he'd be an ENGLISH goalie in the Premiership, he'll likely get into the England squad alongside Green before too long.!!
NickG Posted 7 July, 2009 Share Posted 7 July, 2009 West Ham go back today and he is going up do the finalities of signing. No surprise there. surprise!
