Any idea how this is going to work, What are your comments? This is the crux and where we have failed. Someone with the ability of a Malcolm Allinson for me (but not the ego) and the calmness and determination of a Ted Bates.
Gingeletiss Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Yes.........don't run before you can walk.........wait and see
Rocker268 Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 I would expect that is what they have been looking at whilst Pinnacle had exclusivity and everything went on around that. I just hope that something is finalised soon so we can concentrate on the football properly for the first time in months

I can't see him wanting to be the chairman which means we need some football decision makers on board. Any idea how this is going to work, What are your comments? I think he is more than capable of drawing his own conclusions from the last 3 years of SFC and if he makes any decision based on that then it is unlikely to be popular with the majority on this forum. This means that thankfully we are unlikely to see a return of incompetence and self-interest as key drivers for appointments under the guise of fans and legends. I suspect out of their 32,600 strong workforce they have one or two candidates who could sort us out in their lunch hour. The greatest draw the Swiss can bring is a massive line to draw under the past and concentrate solely on the future. Hopefully, the likes of Crouch, McMenemy and Osman will never be allowed near a microphone again and certainly not on the pitch at SMS. As for MLT? Well he was always the best contributor to Soccer Saturday and I hope he continues the banter with Jeff Stelling on that and Countdown.

I would agree that a line needs to be drawn on the past and new individuals in the boardroom, with the appropraite skills, is required. At the same time we should be respectful of the positive contributions people have made in the past.
The Majestic Channon Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Give it a rest. What have you ever done for SFC? He's in the minority being a fan of lowelife, he's bitter.

You've omitted Lowe, he couldn't sort us in 5 years (since 2003) and two terms, let alone a lunch hour!

Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Give it a rest. What have you ever done for SFC? Loyal customer and season ticket holder of many years, for me and my family and therefore have spent thousands for more seasons than I would like to mention (12 in fact - just for Toomey). I am someone who may have disagreed vehemently with the likes of Wilde, Crouch, Corbett and McMenemy over recent years but has never deserted this club although it got quite close when your brother was put given the MC's mic. Did his caterwauling annoy you whilst you were growing up? When did you have an inkling he would become a comedian?
Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 if it was`nt for crouch their would be no sfc! Prove it.
thegaffer Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 You are a complete d.ckhead. I doubt if you were even born 1 May 1976 Who bought Keegan,Osgood,Watson,Shilton,McDougal,Worthington,Boyer,Mills,Ball, Rodrigues,etc..etc..etc?

Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 You've omitted Lowe, he couldn't sort us in 5 years (since 2003) and two terms, let alone a lunch hour! Maybe not but he showed what could be achieved on a part-time basis and with no money because of the recklessness of other alleged football experts, allegedly working full time on returning the club to it's rightful place.

Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Do you want to make this personal? Do you? Just a bit banter and if you are prepared to stand up (no pun intended) and give it then you have to expect a little gentle ribbing in return, don't you? Every audience has it's hecklers.

Listen when you insult my family it does become personal. You hide behind your PC and insult people hoping that nobody knows who you are. Like I said earlier Derry is a good freind of ours. The only person I give stick to on here is you because of your attacks on people you no little about. You say every audience has their hecklers. Hecklers normally in an audience can be delt with but you choose to hide.

Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Derry is a good friend of ours!! Doesn't surprise me but the integrity of Derry and one of his friends certainly did. Go ahead, I know a thing or two about prejudice and tradegy and what's important in the overall scheme of things and certainly happy to have it's nest as well as it's clock at SMS. Helped me survive.

Bully boy tactics to stop people voicing their opinions. Do you ever read editorials, comment or critics in Newspapers. How do you respond to them if you don't agree with their view?

saint lard Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Once again it degenerates into squabling and handbags. Now i wonder whose presence strangely manages to manipulate a thread to fit his own agenda....again...and again...
Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Come on, where else would this generous money have come from? Lowe? I have genuinely no idea how the club has funded itself nor how generous and in which form contribution's if any have been made. i.e. Loan, donation or a seat on the board. Lots of rumour but has there been any facts to support the widely differing views over the past weeks? Hopefully the Swiss will arrive and all that glitters will be gold and we can forget the past 3 years I know I can - trouble remembering the past 3 days.

John B Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 if it was`nt for crouch their would be no sfc! Crouch like the rest bears some responsibility for getting the club into administration in the first but you are right he has tried to help in keeping the club going. Not so sure him and MLT should have been involved with Pinnacle but that is hindsight. I hope Crouch buys a season ticket/box and enjoys the coming season
Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Oh just F¿¿k off will you How did you that with the upside down ?? ? Just turned my keyboard around and no luck.

Hello, I am Nineteen Canteen and a long time Saints fan and ST holder and in the minority who believe the club shafted itself by removing Lowe in 2006. What threads do you suggest I take part in assuming this is an all inclusive forum for all Saints fans.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 ##cking fool Language is bad on here today shows this country's declining respect for the Sabbath and education.

NickG Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 I agree with the sentiment, if not the squabble! I feel that it is a good time for a fresh start and would rather no-one who has previously sat in the boardroom to be involved in either decision making, nor as any sort of spokesperson - this includes Wilde, Lowe, Cowen, LM,crouch etc. IfCrouch has paid wage bill there are other ways of thanking him
John B Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 (edited) Hello, I am Nineteen Canteen and a long time Saints fan and ST holder and in the minority who believe the club shafted itself by removing Lowe in 2006. What threads do you suggest I take part in assuming this is an all inclusive forum for all Saints fans. I probably agree but that was in the past if your object is to **** off most of the fans who dislike Lowe then I dont think it is a particularly clever thing to do. You are not in anyway going to change intrenched views which may seem quite illogical to you. I would also prefer to be discussing the apparent good news that the club has probably been saved with the help of Begbies Traynor and wealthy fans like Leon Crouch Edited 5 July, 2009 by John B
Block 5 Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Oh dear...... This thread appears to have been hijacked.

However it might be prudent not to insult other poster's families as you do? You'll note that most posters on here can take a few knocks and quips but draw the line at insulting families.
