Gordon Mockles Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 People keep mentioning the Monaco group, is that the one linked earlier in the year with Glenn Hoddle ? Not sure as I understood Glen has been working with a deal from Dubai for the past 6 months. Bet that makes you happy eh?! Whether it comes to fruitition or not, time will tell.
saint lard Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 (edited) Batchelor = certified nutter. Edited 4 July, 2009 by saint lard
Thedelldays Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Batchelor = certified nutter. admin was going to save the club.....
InvictaSaint Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 SInce Fry stated yesterday that he is committed to completing with the current bidders - in language which, for administrators, comes as close as is humanly possible to stating that it is a done deal - I would not worry about this pack of jokers.
SaintDonkey Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Batchelor is marginally better than Lowe. You must be ****ing joking. Get over your Lowe obsession and have a look at Batchelor's track record. The guy is a self admitted asset stripper. His only interest in Saints would be to sell off anything he could get any cash for and wind the club up. Say what you like about Lowe but the only thing he's looked to wind up is the fans.
Verbal Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Batchelor is marginally better than Lowe. I don't think he is, osm. I was in York the other day and was talking with people there about the awful recent histories of our clubs. They were spitting blood about Batchelor in a way that was really quite familiar...In their view he all but destroyed the York City.

His only interest in Saints would be to sell off anything he could get any cash for and wind the club up. Say what you like about Lowe but the only thing he's looked to wind up is the fans. AS i SAID..BATCHELOR IS MARGINALLY better than Lowe....I have taken into account as much as I can regarding their antecedent history...Very similar but Lowe is probably still ahead of Batchelor when it comes down to it.... Lowe obsession....No I can't stand the bloke or what he has done to this football club...Wind up the fans....Old ground what he took from Southampton football club appears similar to what Batchelor has taken from football clubs. Both Lowe and Batchelor...NO love for football and both very poor at business. You need to get over your OBSession for supporting Lowe.....He was a very BAD man for Saints in every way ....Even up to the day of administration... Cheque it out. Bad boy Rupes.
LostBoys Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 What a complete joke - he has as much chance of raising £12.5m to buy the club as I have - why don't the Fry and the Echo start doing some checking before printing this garbage. We certainly have attracted a bunch of idiots and losers to this party - Lynam Fialka Jackson and now Batchelor
Saints Pedro Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 I think this guy moves Jackson off the bottom of the 'desirable new owners league'
ottery st mary Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 I don't think he is, osm. I was in York the other day and was talking with people there about the awful recent histories of our clubs. They were spitting blood about Batchelor in a way that was really quite familiar...In their view he all but destroyed the York City. Ok on that info I will take it back....Lowe is marginally better than Batchelor.. Probably both from the same school of what can I do for business or football..But more importantly what can I do for myself.... Anyway I apologise for mentioning these type of scallies but these types just keep steering towards the Saints...Hopefully clean start on Monday.... IF these types ever give up....[-o I will try not to mention shiiiishters again...
ottery st mary Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Doesnt matter, the swiss will complete Cheers for that stevo, I can now get back to my ward and inform some of my fellow fans also under the same treatment and medication as me..[-o There is light at the end of the tunnel..fellow Saints nutters.
TheSaint75 Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Brown recalls that in one meeting Batchelor told him: "This is what I do for a living: I **** companies." Batchelor himself turns out to be not only frank about admitting all this but determinedly so. He says he spent a month in late 2006 in hospital for alcohol dependency and now feels he must give straight answers to questions. So, of his original promises to the York City supporters' trust, he acknowledges: "Basically, I was lying to them. There is no way of dressing it up." Sounds like a nice guy, if he comes anywhere near us I will not be showing my support to line his pockets!
saint_stevo Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Cheers for that stevo, I can now get back to my ward and inform some of my fellow fans also under the same treatment and medication as me..[-o There is light at the end of the tunnel..fellow Saints nutters. Yeah, hold the lobotomy!
ottery st mary Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Yeah, hold the lobotomy! When they remake that Jack film with all those nests and cuckoo birds:rolleyes: I can see all the fellow Saints supporters and myself in the ward all dressed in red and white gowns and screaming for the return of Branfoot.
saint1977 Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Big piece on Gillico in the Echo with quotes from Batchelor. Batchelor refused to say if any former Saints directors were involved though. One or two potential managers identified. Group consists of a guy in property, a guy in engineering, a guy in sport and a guy in development. All 4 will be on the board of directors if successful. Batchelor will only be involved in commercial matters. Richard Williams non executive chairman. Would rather the club died than have scum like Batchelor involved. Honestly. We may be bankrupt but I would never accept people like him on board, it was bad enough having Askham's snout in the trough all those years. Hopefully the Swiss deal goes through as so will my ST transaction for next season.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Fry has said it going to be one of the bids thats been around for a while so no need to worry about these jokers unless the others pull out.
docker-p Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 All sounds just like a load of 'look at me' gash. They would take two weeks at least for DD then everything else. Never going to happen and Batchelor looks a right tool. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/apr/09/sport.comment ****in'ell !!! At least Tony L and Marc J were relatively harmless idiots, this bloke is dangerous. COME ON THE SWISS [-o
70's Mike Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 people are saying Batchelor is worst than the Swiss? but unless i have missed something how do they know who the Swiss are. could be Swiss Asset Strippers?
shurlock Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 He says he worked for many years selling hygiene products, then had a midlife crisis aged 38 and decided to chase excitement, which led him to chance his luck in football. When I walked through Douglas Craig's door," he recalls, "I really was a toilet-roll salesman with nothing more than a load of debt." F**k off, you spachelor
docker-p Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 people are saying Batchelor is worst than the Swiss? but unless i have missed something how do they know who the Swiss are. could be Swiss Asset Strippers? Could be, however we know Batchelor is a tool, and the Swiss 'apparently' are a multi-billion dollar pharmacutrical company. Who would you rather take a punt on?
Lets B Avenue Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Ah ok, didn't know if you were Vic Mackey who lives round the corner from me. Vic Mackey was the lead character (and bastard) in the magnificent TV series "The Shield".
saintbletch Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Vic Mackey was the lead character (and bastard) in the magnificent TV series "The Shield". Was she?
Killers Knee Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 A quote from another website: This man Batchelor is a cretin of the highest order. He brought our club York to its knees and it looks likely that he may well do the same to The Stags. You cannot underestimate the hostility in York for this man. If he was to be seen in the streets I would fear for his safety, this is not a threat but a genuine concern. I can only hope that the people of Mansfield stop this tosser from taking over their club. 'Brian' ****wit Barwick should be doing everything he can to stop this man from running a football club. http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions

Smirking_Saint Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Jesus christ, this guy is pretty scary for a football fan, how can the FA allow people like this to take over clubs ??? God i hope the Swiss roll on in soon, can't take alot more of this.
Mr X Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Dare I even say it but this John Batchelor t wat sounds worse than Lowe! .... cant believe I said that
Junction 9 Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Lets just hope Fry has google!! I am in a position to confirm that Mark Fry does have Google. That's all I can say for now.
DirkThunder Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 There are many clubs who have interested Mr Batchelor. I would like to be able to find one club forum with anything positive to say about him.
miserableoldgit Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Could be, however we know Batchelor is a tool, and the Swiss 'apparently' are a multi-billion dollar pharmacutrical company. Who would you rather take a punt on? But the Swiss are very good at producing multi-tools. I have one.
Wes Tender Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 I am in a position to confirm that Mark Fry does have Google. That's all I can say for now. And if he wants any football related advice, he can always ask his new partner/colleague Richard Fry at BT, who was appointed as our bank contact when at Barclays, Reading, because he states that he is a specialist in footballing matters.
saint_ed Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 http://www.chad.co.uk/stags/John-Batchelor-answers-YOUR-questions.3923617.jp My god, he makes the arrogance of Lowe look like nothing more than a splash in the ocean!!!
70's Mike Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Could be, however we know Batchelor is a tool, and the Swiss 'apparently' are a multi-billion dollar pharmacutrical company. Who would you rather take a punt on? apparently like rich jewish investors?
david in sweden Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 All sounds just like a load of 'look at me' gash. They would take two weeks at least for DD then everything else. CLOTH EARS Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 Batchelor OUT!!! We need to make him aware that he is not wanted!!!
Verbal Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 I liked this bit: So, of his original promises to the York City supporters' trust, he acknowledges: "Basically, I was lying to them. There is no way of dressing it up." Just what we need after everything the club has been through. Does SMS have some sort of banner plastered across it reading: 'Buyers wanted. Scam artists, asset strippers, and anyone who answers to the name of "Mitty" only need apply'?

wightman35 Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 We certainly seem to be a magnet for certain types..................
saint_mears Posted 4 July, 2009 Posted 4 July, 2009 We certainly seem to be a magnet for certain types.................. Its not just us you will find these spivs all around football. Jackson is a prime example of 'media spiv'
Bakovnetski Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 Oh my f*ckin god. It's Barry the Briefcase all over again!
gaz Posted 5 July, 2009 Posted 5 July, 2009 i know of his exploits from the world of motorsport, and changing his name via deed poll to John Top Gear and John B&Q proves he'll do anything for money. He left the BTCC owing a few companies a considerable amount of cash and was generally 'disliked' in the paddocks.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 6 July, 2009 Posted 6 July, 2009 He's certainly not a popular chap in York, rather worrying that the article says he is confident of completing a deal. http://www.thepress.co.uk/sport/yorkcityfc/4476321.John_Batchelor_in_bid_to_takeover_at_Southampton/
