Yet more concrete evidence that pardew is making his player decisions based on this forum. IMHO of course.

John B Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 If Stern is fully fit he should be kept but do we know for sure he is there were some reports of a back problem. We always seem to be picking up relatively old players who seemed to be continually injured

sussexsaint Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 In the bad old days of Mr Lowe - his new contract would certainly count as a 'new signing' when they were being totted up at the end of pre season. All good stuff he certainly seems high in APs estimation and looks up for it - now if we can just get another 10 or so....

MerceSaint28 Posted 22 July, 2009 Share Posted 22 July, 2009 Stern does want to stay. I know this as he is having a baby with a friend of mine and therefore wants to stay close to his girlfriend and baby. He said he really didn't like his time down in Bristol, he was really miserable down there. Apparantly he didn't want to go but the club forced him out. Also there was no banter with Bristol players and he didn't have any friends there, apparantly Saints players always used to have team bonding on thursdays night and he missed the bond with the players. Personally i think it would be great if he stayed, he can be lazy but he can also make the difference in big games. I think the whole squad needs freshening up so i would be happy to lose Saga and Rasiak, keep John and then bring in one or two new strikers. Its looking like John will stay
