trousers Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 ----------------- Poke ---------------------- Molyneux ---- Perry ---- Thomas ---- James Lallana ---- Pulis ---- Gillett ---- Holmes ------ Patterson -------- White -----------
Bobbyboy Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 That's a bit optimistic on Lallana, surely. And the rest of them, perhaps.
saints_is_the_south Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 That team will more than likely get beaten by Eastleigh
Arizona Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 - - - - - - - - - - - Bart - - - - - - - - - - - - - Perry - - - Lancashire - - - Thomas - - - Fish Lallana - - - Gillett - - - - James - - - - Holmes - - - - - - Rasiak - - - - - Saganowski - - - - - Just can't bring myself to put Pulis in there.
SaintDonkey Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 eek football? Surely you've got james and Molyneaux on the wrong sides. But aprt from that I reckon that's about right.

Isn't Fish out of contract?
Arizona Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Molyneux is on trial in Cloggyland somewhere. Skacel and Surman gone... I was at a loss to think of anyone really.
labibs Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Great thread! I would go with Forecast James - Perry - Lancashire - Mills Lallana - Gillett - Wotton - Holmes Paterson - Rasiak Is Wotton fit? Maybe a shade ambitious with Rasiak and Lallana.
trousers Posted 1 July, 2009 Author Posted 1 July, 2009 eek football? Surely you've got james and Molyneaux on the wrong sides. But aprt from that I reckon that's about right. whoops, yep, good spot
The Godfather Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Lallana's injured & molynuex is on trial at Breda.
Dan Johnson Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 I have no idea who is fit and who isnt but Forecast James - Perry - Thomas - Mills Lallana - Gillett - Schneiderlin - Holmes Rasiak - McLaggon
Bobbyboy Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 The question is this: who is going to pick the team?!
aberdare Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 The question is this: who is going to pick the team?! Woggy ?
Granadino Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Does anyone have a list of who is actually still in contract at the club?
Give it to Ron Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 The question is this: who is going to pick the team?! Thats been answered now at least....
trousers Posted 1 July, 2009 Author Posted 1 July, 2009 Thats been answered now at least.... Is it too late to change my prediction from a 4-4-2 line-up.....?!!
SaintsAddict Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 ---------Bart-------------- James--Perry--Thomas--Mills ----------Wotton----------- --Gillett---Schneiderlin--- McKlaggon---------Gobern -------Rasiak/Paterson--- Wow we probably have the worst Saints team ever.
Give it to Ron Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Is it too late to change my prediction from a 4-4-2 line-up.....?!! At least if he sticks with that diamond formation he can hear me shout at him at Silverlake ;-)
Pilchards Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 ---------Bart-------------- James--Perry--Thomas--Mills ----------Wotton----------- --Gillett---Schneiderlin--- McKlaggon---------Gobern -------Rasiak/Paterson--- Wow we probably have the worst Saints team ever. I totally disagree. Even if you take out rasiak, spider, Lallana and Thomas I still think we have a top 5 team if with a half decent striker. Some of these guys are too good for this league and I hope they prove it too.
The9 Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Does anyone have a list of who is actually still in contract at the club? Check the HCADAJFU thread, did all that stuff this morning.
The9 Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 ---------Bart-------------- James--Perry--Thomas--Mills ----------Wotton----------- --Gillett---Schneiderlin--- McKlaggon---------Gobern -------Rasiak/Paterson--- Wow we probably have the worst Saints team ever. Or not, given that we were below this level for much of the club's first 40 years.
saintsforlife7 Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Bart James Perry Thomas Mills Thomson Gillett Schneiderlin Holmes Rasiak Paterson
channonwindmill Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Hurrah! I was wondering if we'd ever have another 'Team For Saturday' thread..
alpine_saint Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 ----------------- Poke ---------------------- Molyneux ---- Perry ---- Thomas ---- James Lallana ---- Pulis ---- Gillett ---- Holmes ------ Patterson -------- White ----------- Christ...
Chez Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Forecast James Lancashire Thomas Mills Gobern Schneiderlin Gillett Lallana McClaggon Paterson I fear for us. There is not a single wide midfielder at the club that I rate
labibs Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Schneiderlin is still away with young france team isn't he? McClaggon is definitely still out injured, won't be back until November time I think. I wonder if the likes of Boyle will get a run out on Sat?
Granadino Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Check the HCADAJFU thread, did all that stuff this morning. Brilliant, thanks!
Suhari Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 I totally disagree. Even if you take out rasiak, spider, Lallana and Thomas I still think we have a top 5 team if with a half decent striker. Some of these guys are too good for this league and I hope they prove it too. Assuming they are fit, focussed, motivated and organised. Which I worry they will not be, given the ongoing fun behind the scenes, and the fact our manager has sod all experience in League 1. I have a strange optimism though. The off field antics will galvanise the team and we will do surprisingly well this season. Please god.
Give it to Ron Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Boyle can play wide ....have also seen him through the centre. No point in me saying which wing though given most of our recent managers ideas to play them on the wrong one! He is a bit lightweight but has promise. Not much compensation but he is better than Smith IMO.
Hopkins Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Who was the centre midfielder that won kiddie of the year? Dunford? Could see the likes of him, Gobern, White, Thomson all be big players this season.
ssaints Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 If any of the young players play well in pre season then they will probably be off, so hopefully we will lose all games until September!
trousers Posted 1 July, 2009 Author Posted 1 July, 2009 can't see it being a '1st team' tbh The words 'beggars' and 'choosers' springs to mind....

No point in me saying which wing though given most of our recent managers ideas to play them on the wrong one! He is a bit lightweight but has promise. According to the HCDAJFU thread Boyle's contract expired yesterday... not sure how accurate that is - does anyone else miss the old saintsfc archive and the search facility ?
The9 Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 I think our back 4 should be Davis (hey, he hasn't left yet according to any media sources) Forecast, Bialkowski, Perry, Poke Genius (especially playing Perry at CB when he's the shortest of the lot).
Um Bongo Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 According to the HCDAJFU thread Boyle's contract expired yesterday... not sure how accurate that is - does anyone else miss the old saintsfc archive and the search facility ? He was given a new contract.
Give it to Ron Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 According to the HCDAJFU thread Boyle's contract expired yesterday... not sure how accurate that is - does anyone else miss the old saintsfc archive and the search facility ? I could be wrong but I thought we gave him a contract extension..as you say no chance of looking that up on the OS.
trousers Posted 1 July, 2009 Author Posted 1 July, 2009 does anyone else miss the old saintsfc archive and the search facility ? Yes, just think of all the historic articles that have been swept under the carpet in one fowl swoop....not that there's anything we'd want to hide in our recent history of course....whoops, forgot, this is a football thread....as you were...
Over land and sea Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Boyle, along with Paterson, Mills and Thomson were all offered new contracts. I've not seen anything to confirm they have signed them (in fact the OS hasn't even reported the offer - the news about Boyle, Paterson and Thomson was on Sky Sports' website). As far as I know, Jamie White's and Lloyd James' contracts also expired today - unless they signed extensions. There is an outside chance they did last season. Perhaps the OS failed to report it...
Over land and sea Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Just found the Sky Sports link - which says Boyle, Paterson and Thomson agreed new deals. I assume that means signed as well. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5389224,00.html
ottery st mary Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Maybe we should give this Dutch Revolution a proper go.
Over land and sea Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 (edited) Don't we normally play a different 11 in the 2nd half to the 1st half in the first pre-season match? Even if not, that's a challenge I couldn't resist! White, Mills and McLaggon are injured, Schneiderlin is on international duty and Molyneux has gone Dutch, so how about: 1st half ----------------------Bialkowski----------------------- James--------Perry---------Lancashire----------Gobern Thomson--------Wotton-------Gillett----------Holmes -----------Lallana---------------Rasiak-------------- 2nd half -----------------------Forecast------------------------- Argent---------Thomas---------Saville---------Reeves Boyle----------Pulis-----------McNish---------Dunford ---------Saganowski------------Paterson--------------- Michael Poke, Aarran Racine, Ryan Doble and to cover other injuries. Not true, I dont see Lee todd, olivier bernard, or Stig Johansen in that line up... PS Stig Johansen was actually amazing in CM 97/98 I remember getting his value to a good 10 million once!

matthieu Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 Davis James Racine Lancashire Mills Boyle Gillett McNish Holmes Euell BWP
Bailey Posted 1 July, 2009 Posted 1 July, 2009 No idea who's fit, who's been training or if our out of contract players have left the club. With all that in mind, I'll guess the following: -------------- Bilakowski ----------- Hatch --- Lancashire --- Perry --- Mills Thomson -- Gillett -- Gobern -- Holmes --------- Paterson -- White ----------
