Colinjb Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 Just curious, are there any non prescription antibiotics available at pharmacies. I'm off on holiday next week and can feel the tonsilitis I've recently had returning after I had to cut my last course short after finding out I am allergic to penecillin. After having been to the doc 3 times now I really don't want to go again.
Baj Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 Apparently making a tea out of the pulp from a pomegranate can have an anti-biotic effect, there are certainly some amazing things that fruit is capable of.

You can buy antibiotics over the counter in France, Spain and Turkey to my knowledge and probably in other countries as well.

chrisobee Posted 4 July, 2009 Share Posted 4 July, 2009 Yes, I imagine you might get something over the counter but be careful as some people who are allergic to penicillin are also allergic to other closely related antibiotics, including cephalosporins, such as cephalexin, cefprozil, and cefuroxime. Ask your pharmacist or doctor about these antibiotics.
