Ian the Red Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I have been told by an employee of SFC that the Pinnacle takeover will happen today. Furthermore Hoddle is the front runner to be manager. Source has been reliable in the past...... but not always 100% right There was more info from MLT on Sky yesterday and here is the link: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_5405966,00.html
LostBoys Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I think you may be the only one to believe it and the rest of us hope you are right.

Gingeletiss Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Makes sense getting rid of everyone then.......Hod is bringing his boys:smt098
Ian the Red Posted 30 June, 2009 Author Posted 30 June, 2009 I didnt say I believed the info, simply passing on what i have been told!! Like every Saints fan I just want to know that there will be club and we will be able to watch Saints play at St. Marys in August..............
Foxy Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Hoddle + MLT = ******** '*****' A very small snow storm?
Draino76 Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Hoddle a bit to much of a fancy pansy to cut it in L1 me thinks.
eastleighhalo Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 SFC with Hoddle = minus MLT ... he hates the man with a passion !!
South City Si Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 MLT doesn't like Hoddle from when he was England manager, why would he appoint him?
Tomobz Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 If the deal doesn't go through how long until we die? Is there a deadline??
Boris Karloff Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Can't believe MLT would want to have Hoddle as manager.
krissyboy31 Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Hoddle + MLT = ******** I may well be bollix but they have apparently made up since MLT's playing days and now get on quite well.
The9 Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I'm beyond being bothered about who the manager is at the moment, and the Hoddle issue is long-dead to most, seeing as we stuffed them plenty and got him the sack too... though as Pinnacle's stated goal is to unite the fans, I'm thinking this is cobblers.
Mole Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Hoddle + MLT = ******** That is my thinking. Matt hates Hoddle with a passion.
Barry the Badger Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Niall Quinn appointed Roy Keane. That said I have given up beliving anything anybody says when it comes to Saints.
matthieu Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Yet another Ex-England manager linked with pinnacle If rumours are correct, we'll have Keegand as DoF, Hoddle as manager with Sven Goren Eriksson as his Assisstant.
Bailey Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I'd be more than happy with Hoddle as Manager, although it's hard to be bothered about who is in charge at the minute when the club's future is still uncertain.
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 This is a business decision. You don't have to like somebody in order to work with them.
Red And White Barmy Army Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I don't see why every1 on here seems to be over-reacting so much. The situation cannot possibly have changed before DMG's sale. Pinnacle were still sorting out matters with the FL when the deal went through yesterday and I doubt the Swiss' decision (whatever that may be) over buying the club would have influenced the decision to sell. The deals for Kelvin and Surman have been bubbling along for a while i suspect. The fact that we seem to have got a good deal for DMG seems to point towards the directors of SFC sorting out that deal. If Fry was to do it then Forest would have surely thought they could get away with paying £0 next week if SFC folded. As far as I'm concerned the situation today is the same as it was when MLT issued his statement on Saturday. I will be alot less confident if nothing materialises before 5pm however.
Sheaf Saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I don't believe for a second that Hoddle would be the slightest bit interested in giving up on his academy (in spain is it?) to manage a L1 club. He has stated in the past that he is more than happy where he is. Sorry, as happy as I would be to have him at saints, I just can't see it. Not calling anybody a liar as I'm sure this is being passed on in good faith, but it doesn't add up to me.
Royston Saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 MLT doesn't like Hoddle from when he was England manager, why would he appoint him? MLT would have great pleasure in sacking Hoddle
Sheaf Saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 This is a business decision. You don't have to like somebody in order to work with them. Precisely. There are plenty of people at work who I don't personally like, but I have a healthy professional respect for them nonetheless.
Hatch Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Maybe MLT will make Hoddle manager of the reserve team
Matthew Le God Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Maybe MLT will make Hoddle manager of the reserve team B team surely and only arrange friendlies for them against Russian lower league teams
Gemmel Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Maybe MLT will make Hoddle manager of the reserve team I think you mean "B" team Hatch
IN MY DAY Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Hoddle a bit to much of a fancy pansy to cut it in L1 me thinks. He didnt do to bad bringing Swindon through the division as my memory serves me, Dont label me a Lowe luver but if he had stuck to his guns and not listened to back page campaigns and fan forums and re-appointted Hoddle theres a good chance we wouldnt have ended up were we are now.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 MLT doesn't like Hoddle from when he was England manager, why would he appoint him? Because MLT is man enough to get over it for the good of his & our beloved club? Maybe not cynical enough for me? I blame the heat.
musesaint Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 it is now looking as though there may not be a club left by the end of this week hoddle - who cares?
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I can hear a Dalek coming.... Pehaps 'Dalek' is 'Mr Big' ?
Saintjersey Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I've heard from a reliable source that we are f***ed and going under, and that whatever anybody says is just a load of s***. How many times have we heard, 'this is going to be the day'??

pangy Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 My Father in law works with MLT brother Kevin and apparently the one MLT wanted was Strachan but he wanted a year out from football,Hoddle is a deffo no-no from what he was saying they still have 3-4 interested but nothing definate
Dog Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 That is my thinking. Matt hates Hoddle with a passion. If that is the case, then why were they playing golf together on 13th June at the Royal Guernsey golf club? :smt047
Block 5 Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 I'm sure MLT doesn't hold a grudge over something that happened so many years ago. GM was mean to me last week and I've already forgiven him / moved on / drawn a line under it etc etc.
Matthew Le God Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 My Father in law works with MLT brother Kevin and apparently the one MLT wanted was Strachan but he wanted a year out from football,Hoddle is a deffo no-no from what he was saying they still have 3-4 interested but nothing definate MLT's brothers talking about stuff they shouldn't again (Italy 1996)

egreog Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Possibly the day the whole thing collapses........I agree!.........sad but I wouldn't hold out for anything positive today!!
Gemmel Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 sad but I wouldn't hold out for anything positive today!! Espeacially based on Lynams latest quote; "I remain the enternal optomist"
Wes Tender Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 He didnt do to bad bringing Swindon through the division as my memory serves me, Dont label me a Lowe luver but if he had stuck to his guns and not listened to back page campaigns and fan forums and re-appointted Hoddle theres a good chance we wouldnt have ended up were we are now. And of course, had the old board not shown undue haste to get into bed with the owners of a small retirement homes business, instead of waiting a short while to review what the two or three other consortia rumoured to be interested in us had to offer, then there's also a good chance that we might not have ended up where we are now.
Lets B Avenue Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 Has anyone seen the Swiss family Robinson today? and where's the bird with the nice legs and a speedboat.

Dont care as long as they have £100m to spend over the three/four year s to take us to Champions League football in 2013!!
saintjay77 Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 MLT doesn't like Hoddle from when he was England manager, why would he appoint him? I dont think MLT thought much of Lowe but while he was in charge he never said anything bad against him. He seems very diplomatic IMO. I wouldnt have thought MLT would turn to Hoddle but stranger things have happened. I would be more amazed however if Pinnacle actually complete the deal than MLT brining in Hoddle.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 He didnt do to bad bringing Swindon through the division as my memory serves me, Dont label me a Lowe luver but if he had stuck to his guns and not listened to back page campaigns and fan forums and re-appointted Hoddle theres a good chance we wouldnt have ended up were we are now. Are you Dalek in disguise?
Dog Posted 30 June, 2009 Posted 30 June, 2009 and where's the bird with the nice legs and a speedboat. I never claimed to seeing a speedboat. :butthead:
