I used 10 20p pieces this morning in Sainsburys on a sandwich. I might have blown £500 on a ploughmans cheese. :-(

Put it down to the intense heat.

"The London Mint Office is a wholly-owned subsidiary of one of Europe's most successful direct marketing organisations', the Samlerhuset Group. "

They have shedloads of these kind of outfits in the States, flogging all sorts of junk to collectors through TV commercials. Their adverts are full of phrases like "due to incredibly high demand we must insist on a limit of 5 sets [of crappy coins] per household".

I have an extremely rare 20p coin from 2009. It has 3 flaws/errors, it has the date '1999' stamped on it, it has the wrong currency value on it ie is says '5p' instead of the '20p' it should have, and it is the wrong size too (about the size of a 5p piece).

This is the only one in existence to the best of my knowledge.

Yours for a tenner, or consider swapping for a nine bob note.

I'll give you 5p for it?
