Surman and DMG to go this week

if the PInnacle deal goes through I assume the Surman deal will still go through though?

I have to laugh at those on here that slate Surman right left and centre yet he is apparently a hair's whisker from joining a Premiership side.

He could easily be following a well-worn path into a Premier League reserve team or a Championship / L1 team on loan. Chris Baird, Martin Cranie, Matt Mills, Lukas Jutkiewicz (via Swindon) and Nile Ranger have all joined Premiership clubs in the last couple of seasons and done nothing. Gareth Bale may get a game next season if he finds a new club. Redknapp clearly doesn't rate him at LB or LW.

That said, I wish Surman well if he leaves. His form wasn't great last season but the team didn't play well around him. He was very good the previous season and he's certainly better than L1 standard. At 23 years old, he needs to be thinking of bettering himself rather than hanging around at a L1 club. Hopefully he can do as well as Kenwyne Jones or Theo Walcott rather than the other players I mentioned.

Robertson looked like a giraffe on crack whenever I saw him play. One goal in 10 appearances. :| A cracking goal, but let's be honnest it was a speculative effort when he hit it.

Hasn't played since he returned to the Blades either.

And not likely to with the "driving incident" hanging over him...

I thought he was decidedly average but at least making the effort, unlike some. "Poor man's Jon Stead" as opposed to "poor man's Leon Best".

Yes, I rate him that highly. :D

things may all change when depending on finances and manager after next 48 hours.

wouldn't be surprised if they now stayed

Christ! What's your day job? weatherman? So let's review this stunning piece of insider knowledge; Surman and McGoldrick are definitely leaving this week (so you've been told), but on the other hand they may not be leaving as "things may change" I reckon I could have provided this scoop myself.

PS invest heavily in the stock market today as I've heard that it will definitely go up in value tomorrow. However be careful as "things may change" so it actually may go down!

Iam very sad that DMG has gone, he will prove all the doubters wrong. i do hope we have been clever enough to put a damn good sell on clause on him.

Goning inot administration was always going to be tough, I could see ot and many others warned of it, sadly many could not. I would love to be have been wrong as I'll be a loser as well. Good luck DMG you will be a tyop player even though many of the people on here dont think so.

I thought the administrators could sell whoever they wanted if they needed to get money in.

Dont worry Fry will make sure there is enough for his fees and commissions. The administrator will probably take a commission from the sales of players as well of course.

That is disturbing - knew Surman was going to go but "cover the wages" - doesn't sound like a deal done for the club itself in the next 48 hours does it? Surman will be one of those players that thrives at a new club where with a new environment where he will be moe inclined to listen to advice to strengthen his upper body and get himself as fit as possible. McCarthy might be the sort of manager to get the best of Drew as he has lots of ability but after a bright start last season looked very stale and jaded for the rest of the season and the previous season was similiar after a bright 06/07 for him. You have the question the quality of the coaching.

So many of us were pointing out that the Dutch experiment was short of physical preparation from this time last year. It might have worked if the players were tougher. But too many youngsters in a squad of unfit oldies did for us. I fear that we are going to be in a similar situation this season unless we get a tough fitness-freak manager.

What like you said Lowe coming back would save the club you mean?

Sorry nickh but as i said to you the last time you said it, the guy is a poor player. We are better for having the million pounds in my book. DMG will fall off the radar like so many other players supposedly destined for greatness have.

are you going to dig out that post for us again how clever you were wanting us to go into administration? Find the posts where I said he'd save the club?

What is going on.....McGoldrick sold, Surman going to Wolves so wages can be paid! Seems to me Pinnacle are all talk but no substance. They have had 2 weeks before exclusivity, 3 weeks excusivity and now another week and we are no further forward.

Why are Pinnacle saying they will do the deal but our Football Board selling players (Rhetorical)

None of it surprises me. We all knew it was going to be a big clearout and a whole new lot of players in for next season, didn't we?

Really? tell that to Leicester who sold no one and hammered league 1 last season.

You dont sell your best players simple as that, if pinnacle would hurry up maybe we would be able to keep hold of surman.

To be fair these players are leaving as football decisions rather than financial.

DMG and Surman want to play at the highest level they can. Did anyone really think they would stay and play in L1?

If Surman can move to the Prem then congratulations to him. Trebled wages and the chance to play at the top.

DMG, moving back home to his family (and child I believe), wages increase and ambitious team. Wotte said we have been negiotating for ages.

No brainer for these guys surely? DMG says on the Forest OS that as soon as he knew they wanted him he told his agent to make it happen.

Leciester didnt have any players that any teams really wanted. Howard - on huge wages, Mattock -fee too high. Maybe Fryatt but he's not great.

We would have sold DMG and Surman regardless of the takeover stuff. They were gone as soon as we were relegated.

Hang on a second nick i think you might have got yourself a bit confused.

I said we were already in administration with Lowe at the helm in everything but name. How is/was it any different? The difference was he was still getting paid while others were losing their jobs. Supposedly we will be bought out by either Pinnacle or the Swiss guys tomorrow, at least that is what we are lead to believe. Being able to pay the bills once again is better then what Lowe left us with hence being in admin was better then not being. Soon as the deal is signed we will for the first time in many years actually go forwards.

And you know you said Lowe would come back and save the club, i remember it very well, you were adament Crouch and Pearson had done so bad that Lowe and Wilde coming back would help the club recover from the mess he (Crouch) had made. Those who remember your words of then will verify it.

I have to say I find it amusing how the vast majority of posters on here were saying get rid of the whole sodden lot of them because they are all sh!t/lightweight/lazy/uninterested or whatever and now, some are leaving, we begin to protest. Priceless!!

McGoldrick has made it clear for a while he wanted to go back to Nottingham.

Surman has been told he needs to be sold to help with wages. I was told this again today. I personally think a move to Wolves will be good for him but sad to see him go. His heart is still with Southampton and another weakness to our already weak squad.

Lol an analyst and you even get the name wrong of the poster who MAY have said that, but it wasnt me.

You called for adminisration before we were in it and lauded how good it would be. Get a poll going and see who would rather not have been in it now.24 hours time it may be different but 1 thing for certain nobody who thinks things through would ever want to go through this .
