Ian the Red Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 MLT on Radio Solent yesterday and this am on BBC South stating that the deal will go thro today or tomorrow with the 10 deduction. A couple of other points that needed clarification from FL but 100% confident. MF is one of a few backers.
JustMike Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 so, what if the swiss or the others get there first? I dont like all this "today or tomorrow" business, that does appear to be an ongoing theme with Pinnacle. Nothing against MLT and i hope he becomes chairman too.
doggface Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I believe that one of the other sticking points is over the length of the licence offered (initially 2 years), unfortunately I don't know the nuts & bolts of it but Pinnacle are hardly gonna make such a large investment without being sure of the clubs long term membership.
Dog Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 The Swiss are at SMS this morning, I walked past the ground at 8.30am and there was a silver Range Rover with swiss plates on. Fingers crossed x
sussexsaint Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Why don't they all bung money into the same pot and call it the Swiss Pinnacle bid
Frank's cousin Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Why don't they all bung money into the same pot and call it the Swiss Pinnacle bid Its about controll.. But dontbe surprised if teh Swiss were to win and then bring in some fan friendly names...
Paul Chuckle Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 The Swiss are at SMS this morning, I walked past the ground at 8.30am and there was a silver Range Rover with swiss plates on. Fingers crossed x they can't be worth that much then if they have driven from Switzerland to SMS???
jonah Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 The Swiss are at SMS this morning, I walked past the ground at 8.30am and there was a silver Range Rover with swiss plates on. Fingers crossed x I'm a bit worried they had to drive to SMS and couldn't afford to fly over - FlyBe are very competitive even at this time of year.
OldNick Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I was told that Fry has told the staff that the Swiss said they would be back by this lunchtime if they were interested. He also said if he was the staff he would rather have the Swiss take us over as thye earn interest a year more than they need to buy us etc. Now that is the thing that confuses me as a company would not be doing tht and so it may be an individual rather than a company.
ART Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I'm a bit worried they had to drive to SMS and couldn't afford to fly over - FlyBe are very competitive even at this time of year. If their business is based in the UK there is no reason why some company members aren't living here and driving Swiss registration Range Rovers. Those that arrived last week may have been the kingpins who came to confirm their interest whereas those with the Range Rover may be those who are doing the negociating. Nice to hear they were at St Mary's bright and early though.

Somebody said yesterday, that it was two individuals. I don't know whether that was fact, speculation, a guess or just made up. Just like anything else posted on here really!!

If that is true it seems rather unprofessional of the administrator to be passing comments on whom he thinks would be better owners from the staffs point of view. Also It matters little how much the Swiss firm make in 'interest' a year - what matters is how much of it they are likley to plough into the club and for how long.
Dog Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 they can't be worth that much then if they have driven from Switzerland to SMS??? I would rather drive over in a top of the range, Range Rover than sit next to some snotty nosed kid from New Milton. Also the 3 men & 1 lady that got out of the car were all dressed in white suits, and looked classy as f*ck.
jonah Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 It was joke ART. I think it's very good news if they are at SMS again - however, we know even less about them than we know about Pinnacle... and it would be a little rash to just assume they are better!
OldNick Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 If that is true it seems rather unprofessional of the administrator to be passing comments on whom he thinks would be better owners from the staffs point of view. Also It matters little how much the Swiss firm make in 'interest' a year - what matters is how much of it they are likley to plough into the club and for how long.well I suppose if they have that much interest just coming in off wealth there is aq chance some could come our way, if we have to rely on a semi detached in Finchley being let out it might be more difficult As for Frys comment, he was probably just stating from a personal level trying to keep the staffs mrale up aftter telling them they were not to be paid.
sussexsaint Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 all dressed in white suits, and looked classy as f*ck. Are they still doing weddings at SMS?
stinhk Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I would rather drive over in a top of the range, Range Rover than sit next to some snotty nosed kid from New Milton. Hmm..? three men and a woman in white suits - are we talking Tony Manero or Nurse Mildred Ratched?

Surely if they were really Swiss they would have been dressed in lederhosen...were they yodelling at all?

Gingeletiss Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Here we go...........round two............'I heard..I was told..I think'...this is what has happend to pinnacle. Why can't you wait until it is a FACT..then we don't have all this bit ching and in-fighting.:smt060
fletch Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 "were all dressed in white suits, and looked classy as f*ck" Those two statements contradict themselves somewhat! Did they have open collar shirts, medallions and arrived with nightfever playing on the stereo

AwaySaint1 Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 they can't be worth that much then if they have driven from Switzerland to SMS??? Can you hire a bullet proof car in the uk then ? As for the white suites, that will be the grim reapers assistance.
notjon Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Why don't they all bung money into the same pot and call it the Swiss Pinnacle bid You mean The Matterhorn bid.
Hopkins Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Who would people prefer? Pinnacle with MLT. Swiss with apparently more money.
Dog Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 "were all dressed in white suits, and looked classy as f*ck" Those two statements contradict themselves somewhat! Did they have open collar shirts, medallions and arrived with nightfever playing on the stereo I don't know, I only saw the back of them as they were walking towards reception. I will say the lady looked very fit with lovely brown legs.
Paul Chuckle Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Surely if they were really Swiss they would have been dressed in lederhosen...were they yodelling at all? LOL that made me laugh Just read in the metro that MLT is on Countdown this week, he's in dictionary corner, just saw the picture LOL - Sorry couldnt start a new post
Give it to Ron Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Who would people prefer? Pinnacle with MLT. Swiss with apparently more money. How can anyone tell from what they know about the Swiss bid...if there is one? Nobody knows a thing about them or their intentions, they could just be asset strippers or astute business people. Edit. Although I have gone off Pinnacle recently by their less than professional manner.
BGF Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Its the BeeGees taking over then? Nah they support Man U
eelpie Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 You mean The Matterhorn bid. Do you mean the Le Matterhorn bid?
Gingeletiss Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Who would people prefer? Pinnacle with MLT. Swiss with apparently more money. Just because, they, aledgedly have more money, dosen't mean they will spend more on the club...........your adding 2+2 and coming up with 5.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 I'm a bit worried they had to drive to SMS and couldn't afford to fly over - FlyBe are very competitive even at this time of year. What concerns me more is that there were no flunkeys on hand with a Hansom Cab to take them from their car to the reception desk! In fact they must be pretty poor if they couldn't even afford to be beamed straight into the boardroom! (Tongue in cheek rolly eyed thingy)
St.Patrik Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 IKEA is Swedish - why do pople always mix Sweden with Swiss ? read on the Echo "forum" that ABBA the Swiss band should buy Saints : ) Sweden = Hot Blonds, Volvo cars, Always beat England in Footie (not U21 apperently) meatmalls, Abba and offcourse the Hives Swiss = Chocolat, Coco Clocks and Cloggs Spot the diffrent there

Nice to hear they were at St Mary's bright and early though. Who cares? Nice time of year and they have an excuse for a pleasant drive across Western Europe. TBH Jonah/Art it adds creedance to their bid that instead of flying over cattle class they took a far more classy approach to arriving refreshed and ready to do business no doubt via some fancy French hotels on route. Just pray no one spots a battered wannabe driven Audi A3 in the car park.

OldNick Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Just because, they, aledgedly have more money, dosen't mean they will spend more on the club...........your adding 2+2 and coming up with 5. that is true but if they have more ability to spend more you have a chance. Your arguement could be used if Paul Allen was buying or A N Other. Pinnacle seem to me to be really short of funds to really push us on and so we rightly look at other bids that may give us more of a hopeful future. I want us to be purchased and so what will be will be, but it would be nice to have a real advantage.

Just heard from the staff....Fry has apparently decided to take the staff into the toilets one at a time and brief them or is it debrief them...Male staff only...Sexist pig..:axe: No mention about swiss or silver swiss range rovers in the car park.... Anyway I spoke to Chalkie, who is patrolling the car park and this is Jacks reply... " No silver Range Rovers or John Travolta look alikes here this morning...No pass no entry..That includes Kevin Keegan.":smt060 Do you know what I was sure Jack had retired when we left the dell...Mind you he is right about KK...Be warned Kevin arrange your pass just in case...

stevegrant Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 It intrigues me that people naturally assume that someone taking over must have extra millions at their disposal to spend on strengthening the team. Look at it another way, we have a perfectly manageable wage bill now, at roughly 50% of turnover (the reason for the problems at the moment are due to the fact that season tickets haven't been put on sale yet), and once the takeover goes through, the club won't need to service a mortgage on the stadium at about £2.5m per year or reduce an overdraft by £2m per year. That's an extra £4.5m that will be available - clearly some of it will cover existing expenses to ensure the club at least breaks even, but I would expect there to be a seven-figure sum left over from that available. That means the new owners won't necessarily have to put any of their own money in - at least not this season.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Edit. Although I have gone off Pinnacle recently by their less than professional manner. 'gone off' and 'less than' surely the most understated phrases yet used to describe the level of faith in Pinnacle. FWIW Ron I agree with you but probably to the power of 100. I hope if Lynam, Fialka or MLT approach Fry anytime soon he dons his best running shoes and in Forrest Gump fashion 'just keep's on running'.
St Marco Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Probably ******** but at work rumour going round that Fry is in meeting now with the Swiss guy's until midday. Guess if true then chances are you would imagine they would place a proper bid some point today. Guess time will tell

For MLT to be involved and still supporting the bid and voicing his feelings on local TV and Radio there must be money behind the bid, enough to complete the deal and to return to a higher league
Nineteen Canteen Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 whats a coco clock??? Is that a breakfast cereal? I must admit our ignorance to anything east of the English Channel is alarming. Cloggs from Switzerland? Essential climbing equipment no doubt. Lets all have a fondue.

I am led to believe that Jackos mob purchased a second hand set of wheels with swiss plates from the car auction at camberley over the weekend...They are in negotiations at St Marys regarding cleaning the windows....There is a young man who has cum all the way from Dubai with sum majic carpets....He apparently can reach the top windows. Why the hell they have white suits on is anybodies guess.....Straight from The disco eh! John?
