PaulSaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Can we have a new poll please? How many points will Saints start on? A) -10 B) -25 C) Between -10 & -25 D) more than -25 E) Saints wont start Mods, any chance of a poll being set for above? :smt100
Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Le Tissier didn't say we won't appeal in his statement. He just says we won't appeal if things aren't sorted on Monday in order to get things done and dusted.
SaintBobby Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 A bit pointles, no? Firstly, there is virtually no chance of C or D. B seems built on rumour. It's more likely that we will somehow - by a miracle - start on zero points than B, C or D.
beatlesaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 we will start with A (-10) no more, no less, IMHO.
Gingeletiss Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 We will start with -10.........but will be hit with a further -15 by the FL, for failure to produce a CVA..........That is unless a deal is struck, that's what this has been all about. IMHO of course
Gingeletiss Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 By 3.0 on the opening saturday it'll be -7. Early K.O.??
Gingeletiss Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Yeah, 12.45 on sky. Ahhhhhhhh!!....so taken with defending Pinnacle's position on here, I had forgotten about football;)
saint_ed Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Le Tissier didn't say we won't appeal in his statement. He just says we won't appeal if things aren't sorted on Monday in order to get things done and dusted. Well thats a bit naive really. The Football League will know all they have to do is stick to their guns on Monday and they will get their own way.
VectisSaint Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 B seems built on rumour. . Nothing to do with the rules of the FL then. 15 points for not coming out of Admin with a CVA. Since we are not in Admin we can't produce a CVA. 15 point deduction nailed on im my view (it woud be wrong but thats not the issue).

We can hope for a deal if SLH can get a CVA, albeit briefly before they are wound up, or if SFC is put into technical admin for a few hours so they can exit with a CVA. But I agree that I'm sure FL will insist on one, no matter how illogical it is.
Charlie2008 Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Why no option of zero points? Pessimistic post IMO.
Charlie2008 Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 Why no option of zero points? Pessimistic post IMO. Not saying I think there is much chance of this - just some of the other options offered seem more extreme!
Fan The Flames Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 There are at least three senarios where we could start on zero points, we prove and the league accept that SFC was not in admin, we start on zero while we await an outcome of an appeal, we start in the BS Prem.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 27 June, 2009 Posted 27 June, 2009 We will start with -10.........but will be hit with a further -15 by the FL, for failure to produce a CVA..........That is unless a deal is struck, that's what this has been all about. IMHO of course I have a feeling that hands have been shaken, backs slapped and we'll hear no more other than confirmation we have agreed to take the ten point penalty. A 'gentleman's agreement' shall we call it? I guess that the members of the FL board would not like to be seen as anything less than 'gentlemen'?
jawillwill Posted 28 June, 2009 Posted 28 June, 2009 A bit pointles, no? . What a ridiculous post. Every team starts pointless at the beginning of the season
John B Posted 28 June, 2009 Posted 28 June, 2009 What a ridiculous post. Every team starts pointless at the beginning of the season Not according to the BBC we are bottom on -10 points
shurlock Posted 28 June, 2009 Posted 28 June, 2009 a) -10. While legitimate to make enquiries about, the points issue has turned into a convenient distraction for some parties.
SaintRobbie Posted 28 June, 2009 Posted 28 June, 2009 Minus 10. Said it for weeks and sticking to my guns.
The9 Posted 28 June, 2009 Posted 28 June, 2009 I'll be shocked if we don't end up with another deduction on top of the 10, I think we'll start on -25. The FL has already shown it is more than happy to levy random sanctions despite the letter of the law not being broken, I fully expect them to add hypocrisy to their list of misdemeanours by also punishing us by rigidly adhering to the CVA rules, and therefore getting us both ways.

What grounds are there for such a deduction (please don't say anything about a CVA FFS!)? It will be -10.

Lol, would you like someone to answer the question or would you like them not to mention a CVA, in which case they can't answer the question?
kpturner Posted 29 June, 2009 Posted 29 June, 2009 Lol, would you like someone to answer the question or would you like them not to mention a CVA, in which case they can't answer the question?OK - put it this way; what makes you think there is a need for a CVA - and if you are sure that there is a need, what makes you think it will not be obtained?
