If true, then fantastic. The reports from the Echo have filled me and many others with dread, thinking that we've all been taken on a ride by Pinnacle.

Frankly, I'll still be sceptical until the deal is done, but I'll be delighted to see the Echo proved wrong.

Being fair to me, I've always said they should fight the injustice of removing the right to appeal and would've supported them all the way.

Agreed but in the end we need the club to survive most importantly ( stating the obvious I know!) and I hope you suitably misuse your admin powers if anyone starts whinging about "giving in!"

I'll believe when I see it too. But unlike several others, I won't be second guessing, or putting in my 6 pence worth, based on hearsay and what the Echo or SSN said, and reading incorrectly between the lines. I'll wait. Because realistically that's all I can do.

Just as I'm also biting my fingernails over a bid on ebay at this moment. ;)

Which one?????;)

Frankly, I'll be glad to have a deal sorted, regardless of who it is, but I have to say I am unnerved by the reports on Fialka.

What wealth does he actually have?

Is it the "hundreds of millions" that Tony Lyname promised?

Does a property developer have the commercial know-how to run a club of our size? (no disrespect, but property development is not like running a large scale organisation)

I guess we'll find out, but I can't help feel a little let down with what appears to be the reality, after Tony Lynams previous positive posts. I still hold out hope however to be pleasantly surprised...

A word of advice. It's best to bid on ebay with 2 seconds to go. A bit like buying a football club really.....

Fialka may not be the "money man", simply a relative etc of the "money man". As i understand it the club will be in his name though - so it will be one owner. For this reason my hunch is that the "money man" is a relative of his.

MLT just on Solent, referred to buyers , in his words, "of which Michael Fialka is a part"

I'll breathe a sigh of relief when Pinnacle show the colour of their money, in fact when anyone stumps up the cash!

I'm still not sure, though, about someone who allegedly threatens to walk away because of some sloppy journalism from a two-bit provincial rag... but that could just be more sloppy journalism.

Also, Falkia's lawyers are dealing with some un-pleasant reporting from the Echo about him not having any money etc.

Wonder where the Echo got its information. Most of the **** being written about this guy was seen on here before it made it to the Echo, and has been repeated by several on here despite them having no grounds for the information that they were writing. Hope SWF don't get sucked in because of some posters.

Maybe he was also reading on here, all the jovial remarks about himself and his family............

That's the most rational explanation I can find. Very rich uncle or something.

Just hope it's not a way to subvert "fit and proper person" test.

MLT's use of the word 'hope' to complete a takeover on Mon/Tues still worries me, we've been hoping for weeks now! About 75% confident atm that it will go through this week, wish he'd come out and said 'We WILL complete the takover on mon/tues' tho!

What if there is a last minute hitch like one of the 'principals' - now isn't that an ITK phrase :D - getting ill.

Everyone would then call MLT a liar wouldn't they?

Immigrant families, be they hindus, jews, muslims etc, tend to keep their business interests "in house". It makes perfect sense because these families are generally very structured and honour is paramount. By making Michael Fialka the owner under normal circumstances would be risky, but family bonds in jewish circles are strong enough to mean there's no risk - it's how they've been brought up. It may be a relative seeing potential in Michael and giving him a break, it may be a purchase that's good for tax purposes - i don't know, but what i do know is that Pinnacle have passed due dilligence and proved they have the funds to complete.

I watched it too. Said the deal would be complete by Tuesday at the latest.

Also, Falkia's lawyers are dealing with some un-pleasant reporting from the Echo about him not having any money etc.

We've heard this a lot in the past 2 weeks, but once again, Le Tissier urged us to be patient and trust him.

Roll on Tuesday!

He's about the only one I do trust.

Mark Fry confirmed 19 June that the money and everything was in place, the delay was the FL business, so it should be safe to say they colour of the money is already known :)

As much as i'd love that grotty little rag brought to account, my advice to Pinnacle would be to let it go and just concentrate on SFC.

I really hope this does mean that the deal goes through after all the delays and worries.

However firstly Tony and Co. need to realise that in their attempts to be transparent they have caused their own PR problems. They need to get their story right - one investor or a consortium. Is Michael Fialka independently wealthy or a front man for a group of backers?

When they put Michael up on Sky spouting that old cliche about not buying a pub without a license did they really think that no-one was going to Google him?

If they choose to make an enemy of the Echo, which imho for once actually tried to do some research on the subject, they will once again be making a rod for their own backs. They will need the Echo's support in the future. It has to be far better to get together and work with them than antagonise them. Keep you friends close and your enemies closer.

If they ride in to town from London on a charm offensive most fans will welcome them. If they charge in carrying writs and moaning about witch hunts they will probably live to regret it.

Would be interested to hear Tony's views.

Wise words Running Man. We've both seen how posting on here is a poisoned chalice for club officials. I advised TL to have a few days away from here about a week ago and it'd be wise if he closed his account and in future just used the OS (all going well!).

On the issue of the Echo Lowe was at war with them for a while and it's in no-ones interest for wounds to be re-opened. If pinnacle do the deal the Echo will soon change their tune if they are given a few exclusivs - the grubby little rag is short of sales so they won't look a gift horse in the face!

Be smart Tony and Michael, you can have our grubby little rag eating out the palm of your hand if you play your cards right.

I know the Echo gets a lot of criticism on here but I did not see any article that said Falkia did not have the money. They merely reported some verifiable facts about where he lives and the turnover of his company - something that rightly raised some questions about his involvement. They also published Fry's statement that he was satisfied that the money was there. So I cannot see what the lawyers plan to "deal with" exactly.

Trying to threaten the press for printing some negative (but factual) information does not feel me with confidence about this guy (and no, I don't have any connection with the Echo).

I wouldn't blame him if he avoids posting here after all the abuse he has got on here. At the end of the day, He and his group are only trying to save our club. Some of the things posted & printed have been disgraceful.
