With all due respect I think there are a lot of others who are far above Lowe in those stakes. Even at our club Branfoot surely has to take that award???

Are you for real?

Branfoot is mother teresa compared to Lowe.

you are obesessed and need help

you seriously think lowe is the most hated figurehead in the history of english football..?

ffs, he is not the most hated figure head on here

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Prove it Mr Parochial minute taker. Risdale, Bates, Ellis, Batchelor, Ashley - shall I go on you parasitic thug?

Lowe's failures eclipse them all.

i very much doubt it

think about it...the most hated figure head in english football...lol

Certainly up there. That hit the boss site proved that... or whatever it was called!

Nah - everyone I've met who support other teams rolled their eyes and used to comment about us having Lowe. Even a Luton chap I knew thought that they were at least lucky enough not to have him in charge.

Never forget when we played Pompey at SMS and won 2-1 when Lowe's face came up on the TVs and the Skates cheered him... summed up what everyone else thought neatly I think. Lowe was well up there for unpopular chairmen. He was simply out of touch... with any football fan.

When we get another cup final and European football I will agree.

Not the measure of Lowe's tenure IMO.

Yes he made a good choice in appointing Strachan, I will give him that. However WGS and the squad take a much larger portion of the credit IMO. WGS bringing in Killer and Niemi for £2m each was quite possibly the best transfer window in our history. Add to that great seasons for stalwarts like Beattie, Bridge, Claus, CMFG and Oakley.

8th in the League is pretty good going for Saints, but we did get to the final by being drawn at home to lower League teams (and Spuds) in every round. Yes it was an excellent season, for which Lowe takes some credit, but I doubt all the Man U, Villa and Everton fans will be telling their grand kids about it.

Sadoldgit is right. Burley delivered a playoff place. He said he had a playoff team and delivered that.

GB is not the reason we relegated. Lack of funding and failure to sell the club to buy out the gamble last year was the reason we relegated.

Burley aiming low doesn't excuse him for under performing IMO. He took over a squad in 13th, spent £10m and left with us in 12th. Not good value for money IMO.

He took over a squad containing Jones, Fuller, Bale, Baird, Surman, Oakley and Lundekvam, spent £7m on more players and just barely scraped into 6th place on the last day of the season. Sorry, but that's not good management IMO.

Money does not guarantee success. Redknapp was given £6m to keep us up, that worked....doh

I remember £2m on McQ and a few loans. Where did the other £4m go?

So dying under Crouch is acceptable but not under Lowe

Ultimately Lowe relegated us twice. Crouch gambled and it nearly paid off as those of us at Derby thought when Viafara ran towards us with his shirt up having scored our game winer before penalties.

Never said he didnt aim low. Just that he delivered what he said he would.

OK fairish points. But 19, when you have a boss like Lowe who CONTINUALLY ****s things up regardless of the circumstances dont you think that perhaps others are right to question whether he was any good?

Yes of course I do but with some form of objectivity. I may not always do it but I do try to support my opinions with reasons. Many of the aggressive anti-Lowe types don't bother either because they can't or they simply draw on the safety of being with the majority on this forum.

Perhaps at times the sole reason i find myself defending Lowe's regime is because of the apparent lack of thought that goes into some comments. The classic example of this Robbie was the so called demonstration marches. Was it the first march in history that campaigned for something but could not collectively communicate what they wanted instead. Do you remember Connor being asked that point? He didn't have a clue and flapped about as if someone had dropped him in the Itchen.

Can't stand the moaning or posts purely made to incite aggression or simply offend. Comments that are severely critical of anyone at the club are fine but support the argument that's all I woudl like to see.

We did - on penalties AFTER that moment. Tell me,did we even have that moment under Lowe in the first year in the CCC? When we had an even BETTER team?

I agree with that, have to say.

In your jaundiced and, without reasoned, opinion. Google it.

but not with that! Lowe's failures do eclipse anyone else at this club over the last 12 years. The reason is that despite his year off, the club continually slid down as a plc under his direction and whilst he was a senior shareholder.

Draw a graph of places in the league and look who and what was consistent over that time. Plc and Lowe. 'Its a results driven business' Mr Lowe said himself.

I was massively against administration, but ultimately they have been proved right in relation to thier agenda. Regardless of whether we agree with that agenda or not is irrlevant;

They both claimed admin was inevitable Nope they wanted it not claimed it

They both claimed it should have been taken earlier to avoid minus points this season We didn't break the rules so should not have been given the points minus .

They both claimed relegation was inevitable alpine has been doing that for years, he has never been optimistic

They both claimed it was the only way to get rid of lowe and wilde We were on a downfall before Lowe and Wilde and the Wilde bunch were in favour when Lowe was ousted the first time

They both claimed we would be bought and able to move forward without the burden of debt. I think most of the ITK's and others have also said this

And whilst i disagree with some of their posts and whilst it was a polar view to my own, trying to suggest they were wrong in relation to what they were trying to achieve, is bizarre. They were right and with a fair wind tomorrow have bragging rights on "A full house"...................... even if i have to whince a little as type.

No bragging rights I'm afraid.

Drawing the proverbial line....

We will never agree but as it feels like Christmas Eve hopefully we can all tomorrow wake up and go out and play tomorrow as one on our new bikes without a care in the world. Hopefully this time I get the red Raleigh Chopper and not some tacky Purple 'High Rise' copy.

Now who should be manager? ;)

I look forward to the future when with luck we can all move forward together as a unified fanbase for the good of our beloved club, now that the divisive egotists have gone. Wouldn't it be nice if the main talking point on here was not the board (apart from praise for funds being made available for a decent manager or players) but the results obtained in the league and our progress upwards?

I'm sure that as soon as the ink dries on the contract signing and we begin the new season, there will be little reason for people to rake over the coals, except to hopefully reflect occasionally on how close we came to the wire and how grateful we are that everything worked out alright in the end.

LOL! Not the current incumbant 19!

Right off to bed to dream about Swiss cheese, large breasted Swiss girls, St Bernards, Swiss Guards and men dressed as pen-knives... wish I hadnt started that thread, but its going to be an interesting night!

Agreed and tbh I hope we don't often have cause to reflect if at all.

The previous years prior to Lowes arrival in the top flight were more successful than those under Lowe. Fact.

And then slowly but surely, one poor descison followed by another we descended until we find ourselves in the third flight on minus 10 points and almost out of existance. Why can't you Lowe luvies accept Lowe really wasn't very good at running football clubs?

But it's all history now. Onwards and upwards.

I suggest you do do your homework first before making claims, you might find you are wrong.

Moley, I am not going to argue with you because I don't think it would make a difference...but Lowe didn't sp*nk our money up the wall as the Wilde Bunch and followers did.

Lowe had his faults but in 10 years we did actually achieve a lot more than many other Prem clubs.

But if you want to see those years as a failure that is fine.

That really is funny!

But it is also really sad that you actually believe this.

I am beginning to understand your sadoldgit moniker better now though.

Hope you get well soon.;)

LOL, I wouldn't lump everyone in with Alpine!

There are morons and then there is Alpine who is soooooo far out there on his own.

Although I am still wondering why Um Pahars' nephew hasn't headed up a consortium to take over by now! So maybe Steve should be there too?

Of course Administration was never going to be a good thing, but there were those who thought that anything that got rid of Panto villian Lowe was a GOOD thing.

Administration has been a nightmare. We have lost good players, we have nearly lost the club, but hey, Lowe's gone!!! Yay.

When will people learn? It is not about personalities, it is about dealing with what is with what you have.

Alpine would have us believe that Burley's management was a total failure.

Play off place in his full season, no danger of relegation. Winning matches away from home and at home.

Administration would be our saviour from the likes of Burley and Lowe.

People like GM and Jonah were PR plants or the enemy within despite being spot on about abour the Wilde Bunch and the Pinnacle farce.

Anyone who ever tried to be balanced was accused of being, oh dear, a "Lowe Luvvie."

Morons, Alpine, God we have our share of people who just don't get it, but hey, we got our club back..................

It really, really hurts, doesnt it ????

I genuinely pity you.......
