Spot on, you have highlighted ONE LITTLE PROBLEM.

Jeepers, semantics.

This is the thing though - once the bid starst to look shaky, people will pour over other elements that don't stack up.

The Fialka unveiling has gone appallingly badly from a PR point of view.

I do think Pinnacle need to complete today or pull out. Nothign is going to happen between now and Monday to change things.

TL's credibility could be restored if he came clean and admitted the man with several hunded million has either backed out or is still there but now joined by others.

If there is no one with this type of money then TL will forever be walking under a firkin dark cloud.

To be honest I'm fed up with all the TL snippets and messages.

I can see that he means well and also can't say a great deal, but the time has now come to put up or shut up!

Speak again TL by all means, but make sure it is either to announce the deal is done, or announce the deal is dead - and tell us why!!

People need a ****ing good reality check!

1. We are League 1 Club

2. We will be for a League 1 club for a minimum of 2 years. If the league gets it's way, more than likely a League 2 club next season.

3. We have large debts and diminishing revenue streams.

4. We are in the middle of a global recession

What were people expecting?? The Sultan of Brunei to cruise up the Solent??

If Mr Fialko is seriously considering buying us, even given the **** poor state we are in, then I will hold the proverbial door open for him.

Peoples attitudes on here are appalling and sadly that seems to apply to some of the Administrators too.

A proud day for Saints Web, not.

Hold on , Im fully aware of our state as a club.

The site did not put forward MLT as the face of the bid, the site did not say they had a bidder worth hundreds of millions, this site did not change from a single buyer to a consortium, this site did not push forward the man who is reportedly not superwealthy and added to that this site did not let fans believe that KK may be the manager

Patience is a virtue

why?

Because so few people have it

yes, because so many people get pi**ed around these days by people who give the impression of being solid and trustworthy ...

Do you imagine you would be so bleedin' philosophical if you'd worked for a month on the basis of smooth-tongued assurances only to be told you weren't going to get paid and you might lose your job?

100% with Nick on this one.

Whatever the current state of our club we have a fantastic stadium and have proven that we can sell 32,000 tickets week in week out (cf Wigan) and, although I have not tried it myself, I'm told that the catering is world-class.

What a load of rubbish.

Have you been following the developments at all?

What we've heard from Pinnacle and TL is unravelling fast. TL's last statement on here makes no sense.

We've been told that Pinnacle will complete at any moment, that the backer is worth a fortune, that staff will be paid.

That seems, for the moment, to be total b*llocks.

I don't care if we're a L1 club or a second hand car, the Pinnacle bid is descending into farce.

Is there a problem with MLT potentially being the Chairman? The great man himself seems keen.

Prove the bidder isn't worth hundreds of million.

A consortium can be a single bidder.

KK may be the manager... KK may not be the manager. They are the same. It would seem MLT met with KK, we've no idea what the discussions were, as we do not know the other conversations that MLT has had with his contacts in the game.

All valid points 1 - 4, BUT, the Pinnacle bid was 'sold' to the fans as a several hundred milllion dollar investor with a 5 yr plan. This did not mean SFC would get several hundred million but it did give the impression of deep pockets from one person.

Now it's all changed in 24 hours despite almost a month to complete.

Surely it's only natural for people to be cynical and feeling we've been duped?

well give us the facts not hearsay. The only fact i can see is that MLT is happy to be chairman. The multi million pound owner has now become a multi tude and unable/unwilling to put down any money.

Today is going to be a decisive day in the future of the Club in my opinion.

Much work is going on as we speak to resolve the legal issues which caused the delay with our takeover. At the same time, work is also being done to put in place a contingency arrangement so that, with the permission of the new owner, funds can be released to pay staffs wages. Whilst the legal issue is more critical, on a more personal note the wages are at the forefront of my mind.

I am aware of some very unhelpful rumours and questions about Mr Fialka and his colleagues - he choose to speak out yesterday to add not just substance, but weight to our position, with particular focus on the League issue. That continues to be worked on this morning. Quite where and why these rumours have originated is anyones guess, and I would have to seriously question anyones motives for trying to discredit the guy who approached us to try and save the Club. Needless to say, there is no foundation in any such rumours, as will be demonstrated when this deal is completed. But to speculate that our new owner in waiting lives with his parents is nothing short of ridiculous (not that living with your parents is of course ridiculous). Anyway, from the start of this, I pledged to you all one thing. Unity. And that is what is needed to overcome the obstacles in our way. I will not lower our standards and have a war of words with anyone, least of all a newspaper. That is what freedom of speech is all about - but I have reminded that newspaper this morning that they should do research of their own rather than rely upon others feeding them information before the print inaccurate stories. Clearly we are aware of other groups apparent interest so we are concentrating on the important job of resolving the issues in hand.

All the best for now, and keep the faith, its time to complete the deal.

Regards

Tony

ONE LITTLE PROBLEM

wasn't this seriously rich backer supposed to have been known to Lynham?

In fact MLT said that he was a close business associciate of Tony..

But Tony Lynham is now saying the man approached him???????????????????????

I am ****ing sick off this, its pubicly known that it wasnt TL that was sat on his arse one Saturday afternoon and thought "oh Im going to save Saints, get the phone book wifey" he was contacted to spearhead and represent from close business associates he has previous dealings with.

And they went from their and involved MLT

Administrator statement on official site now and it doesn't sound promising from a pinnacle angle but there is a glimmer of light regarding an overseas interest which the administrator is waiting to hear back from early next week that have the funds to complete. But then so did pinnacle !!

What I don't get is why Fry hasn't given the chance to someone waiting in the shadows.

It is a week since the exclusivity ran out so where are the other backers?

Is there anybody out there really interested in saving our club?

I can feel my heart growing ever more heavy as it fills me with a feeling of despair. So many hopes were placed in Pinnacle's care once they declared an interest and now a month later we still don't seem to be able to progress. A manager is needed and players to get us back up a league. Not being greedy to start with as we need to make one step forward at a time. Time is now of the essence and yet nobody strikes me as being in a rush to conclude a deal. Fry should surely have checked out another bidder by now and I must admit to being surprised that another consortium hasn't been given their turn.

If the weight and substance you refer to actually means has the cash to save the team then you should ask Mr Fry, I'm sure he's done his checks.

No denial that Fialka is in fact a fraud

There was mention that some of us would know the money man but he wouldn't be a household name. Now we know his identity there is there a rumour that he once appeared on 'Homes Under The Hammer'?

Still if he is successful at least he can maximise his time in the office as his Mum will have his tea on for when he gets home from work experience.

Who is TL trying to kid? IMO Pinnacle will be a disaster for this club, based on recent observations and Fialka may even top the Jackson legend.

I can only hope Duncan Holley is sharpening his pencil although he may have trouble selling the book as non-fiction as it seems more like a surreal fantasy.

Well today is the day. The Pinnacle group now needs to put up or shut up. We have had them talking a good game for months now but yet the deal is not done.

I like everyone else want this all to be sorted asap but can't help as others have said to feel this is all a wind up or a hoax. A group of chancers who have got a few million between them searching for that golden partner who has the money needed. The whole -10 thing was fishy from the start and looks more and more like a delay tactic to me, a way to give them more time to find that guy.

Now that might sound a little harsh, might be untrue but we have to look at the facts.

This whole episode has taken best part of 3 months to do. And even after all that time they are no closer to the deal being done. If Mark Fry believed they would get it done why has he asked the Swiss group and some middle eastern group to fly out to speak to him? Could they not have done that on the phone? In buisness £15m-£20m is nothing, Littlewoods only a few weeks ago paid £15m for the Woolworths name.

For someone with "many hundreds of millions of pounds" would they see the -10 as a deal breaker, the fact they can't appeal as a deal breaker? Would they see that as a way to stop them from getting millions from the club? No chance.

Now that might be unfair on the group, they might not deserve criticism for the work they are putting in which in turn will secure the longterm future of the club we all care about. And at the end of the day that is what it is about, the club. And right now it is at it's worst. We are near to playing our pre-season friendlies without any idea of who will be manager, which players will have a new contract, which coaching staff will remain or who will come in. I heard a story our goal keeping coach was now working down the docks now...We have no idea of what ticket prices will be, what players will be bought or sold, what the board will looklike, what staff will stay on and if they all will? Right now they have not been paid for a month etc etc

So my message for Pinncale is that enough is enough. You come on here or on Sky with you cryptic messages such as today's one which looks the same as the ones we have had for months now. A lot of people think that today will come and go and it will be another excuse wheeled out as to why it hasen't, maybe put some blame in a another organisation such as the Football League etc.

If you care about the club as much as you say you do or as much as you want us to believe then please for the love of god just sign those documents and bring this whole sorry episode to an end. Lets move on from this and start doing the real important work of re-building our club. The hard work has not even started yet.

Indeed.

But reading what he just said in his statement (which i did not see while i was writing my post) it would appear that he agrees that the -10 is a stalling excuse and not valid enough reason to give the group more time.

What is interesting is his wording about the swiss group saying

"On Thursday I met with the representatives of a bid that is coming from abroad and who have the funds available to complete a takeover"

This to me says that yesterday he had a meeting with this group who obviously were serious enough to show the cash. Maybe they told him they will sign the paper regardless of the points deduction and will put a full bid in soon. This would explain why he has not agreed another exclusivity period because the deals are that close.

Cheltenham didn't do too well last season and nothing looks like changing this season.

The obvious changes to me in the last 24 hrs;

Club still not sold despite Pinnacle PR

Now it's a consortium not an individual despite Pinnacle PR

TL seen on TV laughing and shaking Wotte's hand yet the next day the international property guru Mr Falkia says he can't wait to get a new manager.

Plenty more changes but can't be bothered.

How much negativity and nastiness was there 4 weeks ago when they announced they were going to buy the club? Answer = Feck all [well apart from 19C!! Even Alpine was happy FFS!!]

Now, 4 weeks later and we are in exactly the same position we were in 5 weeks ago, and lo and behold it's all the fans fault again!
