Well that should be easy pickings for the Fraud Squad as Crouch must have piles and piles of forged documents, as must Fry and MLT - after all, nobody would be mug enough to be taken in on somebody else's word without doing their own due dilligence.

Fry really needs to poke his head back up above the parapet again to explain the situation - that should be interesting.

Absolutely - I have some interesting documents I would happily hand over. Mr Fry are you out there?

A small extract from the Misrepresentation Act - 1967, for those that are interested:

2.

Damages for misrepresentation.

(1) Where a person has entered into a contract after a misrepresentation has been made to him by another party thereto and as a result thereof he has suffered loss, then, if the person making the misrepresentation would be liable to damages in respect thereof had the misrepresentation been made fraudulently, that person shall be so liable notwithstanding that the misrepresentation was not made fraudulently, unless he proves that he had reasonable ground to believe and did believe up to the time the contract was made the facts represented were true.

Problem is, when a person/company is potless, the phrase "blood out of a stone" comes to mind....

The reason is now clear why the so-called 'moneyman' wanted to stay anonymous. Whats the betting we get another statement today saying something along the lines of "a few minor things to sort out before we sign"?

Game over for Pinnacle - why do I get the feeling that it seems like it's been a wind-up, albeit in a long-winded and spectacular fashion?

The one question I'd ask from that, though, is "why?"

It just doesn't make sense from any possible angle.

How much have Begbies been paid thus far?

If it's less than £150K, I'd be amazed. It would be worth asking Clapham Saint for his opinion. He thinks that Administrators are, in general, wonderfully professional and worth every penny....I happen to think they're more akin to a cross between a vampire and a scrap metal merchant...

Hang on a minute....

...we are all assuming that Michael Fialka is the man behind the takeover, but maybe he is just an employee of a company that are the actual clients. He just happens to be the front man.

So, who does this Michael Fialka work for? Maybe therein lies the key to the real purchaser of the Saints.

I certainly hope so!

This, scarily, reminds me of the episode in the early '90's with that kid Spencer something or other was going to save Aldershot. I remember him being on Meridian and South Today getting his few moments of glory before the club went bust. Weymouth had a similar situation a few months ago where this bloke was supposed to have suffered a heart attack on the way to the press conference - turns out he lived in a council house.

Football certainly attracts some absolute nutters.

Spencer Trethewy.

Spent some time in prison for fraud (who'd have thought it?), but has since actually become a multi-millionaire in real money rather than make-believe.

GM you have been wanting the pinnacle bid to fail from day 1 and as such your angle is only looking for faults. Admitedly i'm concerned about MF living in a north london semi with his parents, but perhaps he's just a front for others. It doesn't look good and Tony Lynam owes us an explanation.

I think it probably just snow balled out of control.

Maybe they really did have a very wealthy backer at the start (or still do) and then things started to fall apart. By then it was too late to stop the euphoria and TL fell in love with his media spotlight.

Perhaps FF can write a chapter on this sorry saga.

I didn't say it was a wind-up, it seems like a wind-up. Just put it down to my frustration that whilst our club is teetering closer to the point of no return, Pinnacle have been sounding like a broken record with their statements this week, whilst it seems no closer to sealing the deal.

I don't believe anyone on here wanted to see a takeover fail. In fairness to GM, he wanted everyone to show some caution instead of getting too carried away.

He's only the mirror image of you under the previous regime. You got what you wanted and just look at how much we are enjoying it

And they must have put a lot of money in already. Even if they did not pay the full exclusivity aswas rumoured, they must have paid a few hundred grand, and on top of that hundreds of thousands more in legal expenses etc.

And how on earth did they become Mark Frys first choice? Mr Fry would certainly have made checks into their credibility.

At the moment this bid doesn't seem to add up and we are getting a lot of conflicting information, but somewhere Pinnacle must have a sizeable amount of money and genuine interest to have come this far.

I wonder where your thread went, Dunc....

It seems that someone is getting nervous. Is it the mods or Mr. Lynam?

That email really needs to be provided to Crouch's lawyer, IMHO....the Echo don't really need any more ammunition.

What about his announcement - live on Sky Sports News - that he was / is the money man?

All I know is that I don't want Tony Lynam within a country mile of our club. If they somehow do manage to cobble the money together, please god, let the Swiss do the deal first! Whoever they are!

im more interested on what player will be the figure of 'hate' next season..

just not the same now jermaine wright has gone.. :(

BWP and Jason Euell will try hard for the honour, as will a few others.

Wright had the last laugh, he's in the championship and we are 7 days from going bust. Bet Nigel Pearson quotes the 'Things happen for a reason' alot too

Unless of course the person/company is not potless, but has been made out to be by members of the press or others posting on message boards without any "proof" other than a fruitless search in google. Seems like MLT still believes the deal will complete. That will certainly make a few people look like chumps.
