And to add,he did not sound very upbeat,more quite rattled and miffed by it all.

I am not convinced he has been made aware of all the facts regarding Pinnacle and Fialka.

IMO.

In which case we'd expect Fry to be announcing someone else in exclusivity as soon as possible... or a winding up order.

MLT sounded more downbeat and defensive than only two days ago when he was on sky sounding confident, relaxed and almost if he thought he was about to get the keys

Who do you trust more, TL who we know nothing about, or MLT?

 

I have every faith in MLT and his intentions, however, MF is Lynam's link not MLT's so would assume Lynam knows more in that respect

Did MLT know Fialka before the Pinnacle bid? Why on Radio Hants , and it must have been about 5 weeks ago now did Mark Dennis in a conversation with MLT say that MLT had told him that the guy with the money behind the bid was mega mega rich.

Seems to me like there few minutes of fame milking the limelinght, and then it will all fall through off they go.

 

For me this has dragged on far to long. Get the deal done or sod off.

 

Hopefully one of the others will make a bid and Southampton FC can move forward at long last.

Absolutely. If this bid does have questionable financial support that has got past Fry and his team then it would be no surprise if they have convinced MLT of it's integrity as well. Worrying times I'm afraid.

this all gives me the impression that Fialka has just stepped into this deal, to replace someone who has dropped out of the original consortium members.

 

Hence so much delay, and that doesn't include the wranglings with the League.

It is as Dubai Phil had put in one of his cryptic posts. As I see it they rushed to get exclusivity without having the moneyman fully on board. Hence LC paying up, they have now found somebody else but perhaps not worth multi millions.Hoping to pull people on board as they went.

I went to bed positive just reading this first thread makes me think -25 at best and Salz's bid being our saviour. L2 within a year and then a rebuild of our great club.

Rather than these stupid points deductions why do they not just relegate the club. I know it would mean that the fixtures would be out. But like Luton last season, there really is not much hope and a waste of a season.

 

At least if you get relegated again you can try and puch for promotion from the off rather than waiting for a nothing season to end!!

TL said there were originally 3 members and now there is only one. My bit if speculation then, the original three would have ammounted to decent cash, but one on their own is not rich enough, maybe this is the FL's concern and this is why they are holding back the licence.

Did he know whether Fialka would be selling his parents house in London to fund the Takeover ?????????????

What if the other investors have only just walked due to the football leauges stance and Mr Fialka has been wheeled out to try and save Pinnacles bacon. I definately smell a rat here.

No doubt he is ..... but that was weeks ago ........ doesn't mean that the person that MLT was referring to was Fialka though ..........

I would like someone to ask TL/MLT/Fialka the question "If the FL do not back down regards the "legal" issues will you still be buying the club?"

 

I know TL has commented of different occassions that the purchase was 100% was going to happen-but nothing recently.....

 

I thought MLT sounded down in his interview and as thought he may of lost heart?

Why the depression?! It has been well publicised that his brother moved out from his parents last year so they have been getting extra income from a lodger, Michael has had his own bedroom, and the housing market is booming so his figures this year should be even better, maybe even enough to pay one player for a fortnight.

I don't think the guy backing Pinnacle, is anything to get concerned about!

 

He's probably got ample funds.

 

The problem, is, and always will be, they have bunged the "contract dispute" back to the FL, and there is more chance of me being the first person on Mars, then them "backing down", or even "rushing around" to try and sort things!!

So the general consensus on here is one of disbelief that this is the sole money man given what we know about him.

 

Tony did say "With this in mind, I have asked one of the gentlemen who is putting their hand in their pocket to put his name out in public, and I expect this will happen shortly."

 

I think we need some clarification on this.

 

This gets weirder and weirder by the minute.

What doesnt add up is if Fialka is the sole 'money man' and the Echo is correct in that he is a man of straw, how was the exclusivity fee and the considerable legal fees Pinnacle must have incurred by now funded?

he may have the money but this is dragging on now and the feel good factor is evaporating.the deal needs to be done with pinnacle or move on and take one of the other bidders.mlt will still have saints at heart and his legendry status whatever,coyr

2am in LA and I had to take a quick look at the latest goings on at SFC.

Sadly things have gone from bad to worse in no time at all.

Lowe and WIlde must be wetting themselves.

No i think that they will throw their hands up in despair as well.

Far too much speculation for my liking. Who's in who's out. Getting all too much. The league, administrator and pinnicle all need to come and say exactly what the problem is instead of just being very political and saying anything. What worries me the most is that the admin team have now givien pinnicle a further week with no real sign if moving forward. So any time now I can see another 21 day exclusivity period only to find the same problems. For the love of the game and eveyones health and marriages please ****ing sort it! Before we all end up at the Priory in Marchwood.

Why? We've needed a sole investor for 14 years. We need one man - one vision - one club.

 

plc was a disaster. Provided he has the funds for a summer spending spree and a new manager he can sell the club on later anyway in a sounder position than it is now.

Another comment MLT made this morning was that "it's the (prospective) owner's wish to challenge the FL on the 10 points, and who are we to tell him otherwise"?

I'm answering back, "you're the prospective Chairman, Matt, you're in the football profession and you can tell him he can't win!"

When the interviewer asked him whether he was concerned that rival bidders were gathering, he just said they were a long way down the procurement chain, so he wasn't too bothered.

I agree he sounded de-motivated and I can't see this being resolved any time soon. Sounds like MF wants to take this to court .... and that could take weeks/months (delete as appropriate).
