Beer Engine Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Fry's been taken for an idiot. He should now exclude Pinnacle and resign.
Saint in Paradise Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 so you're saying...administrator out?! we're a smart bunch. Makes a change from "Lowe out"
saintwarwick Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Idiot, not an easy process. Stick with it. Beer Engine doesn't understand how administrators work or the process involved, you are right he is an idiot.

fish fingers Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Thank you for that intelligently constructed response - keep believing! about as intelligent and constructed as your original post.
The9 Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Brilliant. Every time I think we've already outed all the thickies another one springs up with some half-baked nonsense.
saintwarwick Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Thank you for that intelligently constructed response - keep believing! I have been at the receiving end of two companies calling in the administrators and have knowledge unlike you, keep believing you know what you are talking about, or not as is the case.
Pancake Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 MLT confirmed on Solent that Michael Fialka is the SOLE money man. Fry has been done like a kipper it seems.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 MLT confirmed on Solent that Michael Fialka is the SOLE money man. Fry has been done like a kipper it seems. And TL has been lying.
Beer Engine Posted 26 June, 2009 Author Posted 26 June, 2009 I have been at the receiving end of two companies calling in the administrators and have knowledge unlike you, keep believing you know what you are talking about, or not as is the case. I have advised professionally in numerous administrations and liquidations and, believe me, accountants' habit of always thinking in terms of numbers rather than legal rights often causes last-minute problems that could so easily have been dealt with earlier on.
Pancake Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 And TL has been lying. I dont know FF, I really dont know any more...
Beer Engine Posted 26 June, 2009 Author Posted 26 June, 2009 you are Jackson and i claim my £5 Nah mate.
brightspark Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 I heard the tea lady accidently dropped a glass cup this morning, resulting in it being smashed. TEA LADY OUT FFS!!! Why do we always want everyone out? If Fry goes, that's curtains!
Topcat Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 I agree that the administrators appear to have done a bad job in vetting the Pinnacle group. As for our own "Swiss Tony", he does seem to be in the same mold as Barry the Briefcase and Marky Jackson. Just a bunch of timewasters that end up damaging the fortunes of football clubs.
Pancake Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Why do we always want everyone out? If Fry goes, that's curtains! Why would it be curtains? BT are a large company a fair few Administrators. Give someone else the job at SMS rather than Fry and see if they can get the deal done. Thats standard business practice, if an employee hasn't performed well enough, you replace them on the "project" with someone else.

Thats standard business practice, if an employee hasn't performed well enough, you replace them on the "project" with someone else. I understand this, so yes, I probably exaggerated, but still... it would take time for the new person to maybe settle in to his new role, and such a pressured one at that were he would have to work fast to get the job done. It would be a massive risk, and it would delay things even further - MAYBE too much further.

Again, standard business practice to have a seconder on board top step in if the first guy royally ****s up.

So you were ITK about last minute problems that could of been averted? Why didn't you do something about it then instead of posting your thoughts on this messageboard.
Mr Nice Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Begbies traynor and dla piper have been a total shambles
Beer Engine Posted 26 June, 2009 Author Posted 26 June, 2009 Begbies traynor and dla piper have been a total shambles Without doubt.
Scudamore Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 isnt admin what we all wanted..? well of course...it's sorted us right out...
stthrobber Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 And TL has been lying. Well I'm taking my laptop to work again today as I did the day before, but I haven't seen the SSN video from yesterday. I see a lot of people are dismissing the Pinnacle bid as a fiasco and I admit it is extremey worrying in the light of Mr Money man's apparent status but I won't condemn this until I know more. I have no contacts within the club and I'm too far away from the action to hear any info unless it's from here. I would have hoped that due diligence would involve checking the accounts of those involved to see that the funds were in place before entering the exclusivity period etc. If Fry has been taken for a ride then it doesn't show Begbies in a very good light at all. GM was voicing concerns about Pinnacle some weeks ago and got blasted for it by some on here, and I wonder about the old adage "no smoke without fire" (at least until Jacko's funeral anyway)
Torres Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Begbies traynor and dla piper have been a total shambles Without doubt. I'm sure you 2 are more experienced and would have done a better job than the UK's 15th largest accountancy firm and 5th largest law firm.
trousers Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Do WH Ireland still have Begbies Traynor on their 'recommended buy' list?
Mr Nice Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 I'm sure you 2 are more experienced and would have done a better job than the UK's 15th largest accountancy firm and 5th largest law firm. Well im glad you think the whole thing has been handled proffesionally !
Scudamore Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 MLT has won the race now mate! First time that's ever been written
bungle Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 First time that's ever been written Dunno, I once saw him 500yds from a Fish & Chip shop 30 seconds before closing time.
GenevaSaint Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 GM was voicing concerns about Pinnacle some weeks ago and got blasted for it by some on here, and I wonder about the old adage "no smoke without fire" (at least until Jacko's funeral anyway) To be fair GM voices concerns about everyone all of the time! This time is was unjustified as he didn't know who the mystery backer was. All he could do was voice concerns about Pinnacle as a company which was justified given their size. I wonder what GMs take would be now on a retirement homes company taking us over. They haven't got a pot to **** in would be a commonly used phrase. lol.
Whitey Grandad Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 Fry mishandled the Grant Thornton investigation that pushed us into the -10 points and he appears to be trying to sell something that, according to Pinnacle, is not exactly as described on the tin, all in my humble opinion, of course.
