New single owner

offering money to spend on players

appointing MLT as chairman and giving him sole charge of football matter including;

a MLT choice of new manager being appointed

would you think it looked promising?

MF has just said that is all the case and could be hours away.

We do not know the details at all of the delay, nor whose fault it is.

Why criticise?

of course i would love it...but we dont have IT yet

And that's the point.

It would be great, we’d all love it.

But it's all talk at the moment. Excuse me of becoming slightly sceptical now.

When was this said?

i think he's refering to what Micheal Fialka said on SSN, something along the lines of ''hopeful it will be resolved within a few hours'' ?

Love have loved it.....and still do

It would be like winning the lottery.....and the probability of that happening is probably the same as the FL making a compromise.

Yep, I would take it. Even if these guys are not the multi trillionaires that so many on here wouldn't settle any less for it is still better then being the work of a group of slimy board members and an eccentric chairman.

he said he would be too busy to run the club day to day and MLT would do that, with support from him and Tony on commercial side.

said wants to let MLT get on with getting club back to where it was when he was playing

wages were paid day late before, and will pay them as soon as takeover is complete, whixh could still be within hours

new manager, MLT's choice, asked if had name he said got a few but not willing to say

will give MLT money to spend

Sounds good!! Hopefully someone can get it on You Tube or it might be on the Sky site.

We were told the money man is worth hundreds of millions, we don't know for sure but that does not appear to be the case.

announed about hour ago and you have been to see his accountant already?

I can't vouch for him and we may have been misled, but he has given Fry proof of funds for -can;t remember was it £9m? He has paid about £1m so far.

Where is the evidence he has £10m? Not seen it, so maybe he has £500m?

No idea but none of the last owners/board invested a penny when they were in charge so anything he gives will be a bonus

Does it matter really how much he has as long as he buys the club and gets in good players something he said would happen during his SKY interview.

We obviously may need more money later but we are in at least Div 1 or Div 2 for two or three years

His exact words nick were; "within days if not hours"

I'll keep watching SSN!

Hopefully hours but really, even if it was sorted tonight, they ought to do the decent thing and wait until Friday

I have absolutely no problem with the guy if he takes control. A bit of money, MLT and a new manager - that's easily better than starting on zero points with Lowe in charge of a debt ridden PLC.

I'm just concerned this deal is not going to happen.

If all the debts and mortgage are paid off that would be a good brucie bonus because the money servicing the debts and mortgage can be spent on the team

forgot about that bit - even better than last yr if it comes off

Monday could offer all of this. I am more than happy to give them a go

I think this is a very positive moment in the history of saints. I was one of the first and most ardent advocates of moving from the PLC structure to single person/small group ownership and the removal of Lowe.

I do not think this group will prove to be around long-term. I don't know why, I suppose it has something to do with the apparent lack of pocket depth compared to many of those who own Premiership clubs. Therefore I see the Pinnacle group selling in a few years to someone who may truly be able to provide the funds necessary to compete at the highest level in this day and age - something we were prevented from doing as a result of the wretched PLC structure.

This is a means to an ends, not the ends in itself I believe. That said I wish Pinnacle every success and hope that their gamble pays off for themselves and us fans who really have endured enough cr@p in the last few years to last us a life time.

Bunch of potless jokers attempting to pick up the club on the cheap

A messed up pre-season

No idea of our manager, players or strategy.

I wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole a year ago.

I am sure some idiots will rejoice at it because now we're shot of Lowe.

maybe a few months ago would have been better thread title.

IF they get it in they do have an idea of manager, and if appointed this week would only be a week later than NP was for Leicester last year. Teams also do fairly well with manager appointed during the season, so while not ideal not huge problem - yet.

As Fry was adamant yesterday that the pinnacle bid was backed with substantial wealth I am happy to go with that until evidence shows clearly otherwise.

They cannot be potless if they complete the deal - so IF it goes through you are wrong on that.

Yes I agree but it is so underwelming and I am not filled with much confidence that success is around the corner .

I have no idea who will be in the team as there has been little or no preparation we are currently bottom of Div 1 and at this rate will be there for sometime

I lurk on this forum with my 3-posts a day - and I must confess the need to respond to this one at this stage.

As one who imposed a self made ban on visiting SMS with the dark lord returning - I would emphatically take what's on offer.

I've been labelled as a non-fan for boycotting SMS, but I still went to away games and bought a ticket for every match at SMS once Rupes had gone! I know I have probably contributed to our current fate - but my few hundred quid wasn't going to stop us going into administration - the fact so many did the same did though.

I'm still not sure about the facts of the Pinnacle bid, is it the same as the Wilde situation? All I want is a club that treats the fans, the staff and players fairly. SFC has been part of my life for too long for me to watch another team or get the same passion...

Rupert's gone - long live the new regime.

In the words of a Who song..."Won't get fooled again" - well I hope not!

takeovers are always going to go down to the wire, although I am getting nervous, but am still confident that if Pinnacle fail, we will still have a club to support next year.

Exactly, even if Pinnacle do not have a pot to P155 in, with Lowe gone, MLT as chairman, a largely debt free club we will be in a much better position* than if we did not go into admin.

this time last year (i presume the dutch experiment had started by then) I expected us to be starting the 09/10 season in League 1.

the -10 points is due to lowe not accepting the inevitable and forcing us into admin before the deadline & take the hit last year, resulting in us still starting in L1 but with 0 points and may have helped pinnacle in their legal difficulties with the league.

Fair enough we are having A messed up pre-season and have No idea of our manager, players or strategy - hopefully by Tuesday, but we have heard that before.

but in answer to the OP, yes I would have accepted this last year, however unimpressed I am with MF. MLT is on board & in Le God I trust.

regardless of how much cash Pinnacle have I still think they will back Saints better than Lowe ever did, which is also why I am glad to read that Crouch has been offered a spot on the board.

As for Lowe, I hope he gets 1 more job in football - Chairman of Pompey, after that I hope that the FL change their rules and he is never allowed near a club in the future.
