What's the legal position of players contracts if the Club defaults on salary payments? Can the contracts become void in this instance? In which case could they walk away to a new club without SFC receiving an payment? This really would be trouble leaving no assets for Fry to sell to pay off the creditors.
I dont know but that is a concern. If we breach contrats then I expect then the players could walk. The ones of any value may well take that option up but the ones who are not will sit tight and wait. Worse case scenario is starting to unravel, bgut agian there is still time for a star to appear.

As an earlier poster has said - I am going to remain positive for today, so with that in mind, the staff not being paid, can work in Pinnacles favour.

The football leagues actions or stance is now directly affecting the livelihoods of people working in the game and the club now has a real possibility of folding. It is now in their interests to do what ever they can to help, whilst at the same time keeping face and seen to be fair to other clubs that have suffered the same fate.

I note with the interest that Pinnacle appear to be the only ones talking with the FL. If mj was serious he would be all over them to try and understand exactly what the issues are, as they would be the same for any buyer.............. you can bet your house on it that if mj's lot were talking to the FL , he would have told the world.

So Tony Lynams pitch, is for one small concession (Whatever that may be) the FL could save the jobs and possibly an entire club, by helping us out. Without that help, people wont be paid along with their mortgages , bills etc and that is as a direct result of the FL actions

That is fair but their bid may well have factored in the -10 or even -25 (that second one I doubt of course) Of course if he is a fantascist he will have discounted it in his mind anyway.I still would accept him, and if his group puts the money down (again I accept it is unlikely) there will be a lot of egg around.

Why is it the Leagues responsibility if the club has been mismanaged?

I didn't say it was. The point i was trying to make is that livelihoods are at stake, as is the existance of a football club. The football league, can with a single stroke secure the employees, the club and the fans future. Small leverage may be, but leverage non the same.

Leon Crouch and friends will sort this out....The wages will be paid AND yet some of you idiots abuse a thoroughly good and honest Saints fan...

Rupert Lowe....Oh! yeah...really..

The same idiots suggest or state that Jacko will save us......Could not even put a deposit down or pay one individuals wages......No good dreaming campers.

Sorted today and Rock and Roll tomorrow...Jacko back to the ward please.

Is that a guarantee OSM? It seems the Fry may not think so, although of course the sudden arrival of Swiss may be just a figment to get some action.

I know we are all preoccupied with the future of the club but I would like to spare a thought for the staff working at the club who have not been paid today.

I'm sure everyone on here would want to express their support and sympathy for the situation you find yourselves in.

I hope that Mark Fry can ensure that you get your salary payments soon.

This is the most important issue in my opinion.

We're talking about people's livelihoods. They have mortgages to pay and children to look after. Either get the deal done, or put them out of their misery.

Puts 'brinkmanship' from all sides into perspective doesn't it.

I am really confident nick....I want to watch Saints next season...I can hear the phone ringing that will be my sawce to confirm we are there....
I hope you are right OSM. The Swiss thing may just be to push Pinnacle over the edge to commit.I do hope youe sawce is not the sauce

Wages MUST be paid today...Please.;)

My sawce tells me on the phone he has sent me this seasons revamped Saints calender....He states times are really hard and we might struggle this season.....The players will be.....Mark Dennis, Jimmy Case, David Armstrong,

MLT etc etc.....I reassured him We might get the -10 back by the end of the season but not -17.....

COYRs....Surely as we speak Wages being sorted and announcements about to be made.....Now that is blind faith..

I suggest there isnt much time before they walk . If they dont stump up and the squad is decimated by firesales the asset they are buying is devalued and so they wont want to buy.It is a vicious circle.

nick.....don't you have a positive thought in your head.....every post is of the 'wet blanket' variety. Do cheer up mate, visit a terminal ward for kids, and see what a real life tragedy is all about.

IMHO of course

Ginge you are just a wooley headed romantic. In your world all is perfect and just because one of our heroes is the face to a bid you cant see that there could be a problem (it may only be minute and all will be revealed later).I dearly hope there isn't and am being as positve as i can. It is people who cant even see a joke (see Man utd like us) who are the problem

but Im not crying Im debating with others what may or may not happen. It may not be to your taste. Your complacency may be well founded but even your resolve and confidence of 3 weeks ago may be a little dented. I have no power over the eventual result but it is good to learn from some on here the way things go. I have learnt quite a bit from some good posters, especially about some minor legalities.

I wish Clapham Saint would give us his take on things from an administrators POV. How does he see things panning out and how close to the brink we really are .

ps be careful out in the sun I know how sensitive your skin will be

Just got an email from a mate who asked a pertinent question.

(Paraphrasing) Following Tony Lynam's statement that Pinnacle will definitely be buying the club, why didn't he put the money in to pay the wages?

... I was wondering this

You have a club, one of its members falls ill, cancer perhaps, the member was a heavy smoker and that was the cause of the cancer. Does the club tell the member to **** himself as he should not have smoked in the first place or does the club board do its best to help the member back to good health knowing full well they are not going to smoke ever again?

What Player Bonuses?

End of contract, loyalty, whatever ,probably on a year completed basis.

Plus I don't know about Uk specific cases but in the majority of EEC countries if your employer pays you after the set day then he is liable for any charges (or

loss of reputation) that his tardiness causes you. If your credit rating goes down because of his insolvency then you can sue him for damages.

Anyway the only thing that can be said to describe the whole business is f*cking shambles.

OMFG

That's rich considering Nick and all the other takeover doom and gloom merchants were the most fence sitting, non committal, rose tinted spec wearing people of non-opinion on this forum during one of our worst seasons ever. "We'll be ok", "Keep the faith", "Jan's got them passing really well, we won't get relegated" and words to that effect. I, along with many others, knew we were f*cked as soon as Lowe and Wilde came back and rid the club of Pearson. Point proven.

Now, we are seriously stretched in admin. and time is not on our side with this takeover stalemate but it's all terminal according to most and now, apparently, there is no hope of this deal concluding. EVIDENCE? Just wait until the end of the week, then you can be happy Pinnacle have failed (as you seem to heavily infer). You used to wear rose tinted specs when we were getting trounced week in, week out under Lowe's Dutch duo and youth team of injured loans that no-one wanted...try having some faith in Lynam, Le Tiss and Pinnacle. They may just conclude a deal before the week is out (or is that too optimistic for the Deal or No Deal viewers who smile, clap and deludingly insist it's alright that they've just thrown away £250, 000. Or, £500, 000+ if you're Pinnacle). Luckily, I don't think Pinnacle are that stupid, deluded or naive.

FFS, it's astounding.

I as always support the club, just because a steward gives me a funny look or the chairman is not what I want it doesnt stop me supporting the team and club.Of course it was obvious things were bad, you dont think we all knew playing the kids was likely to end in disaster? no in the main the fans standing at the ground who actually got offtheir ars## supported the team. It didn't work but at least we tried. The reason we had to play those kids was because relegation cost us a massive part of our income. Now with thiose conditions you cut your cloth accordingly, well not us no we get a new crowd in who spent more than we could afford and then didnt make the correct cuts to make us stable again.

I want Pinnacle to win the day, not as Im impressed with TL but because they are the closest to being able to save us. Iam perturbed that with all the transparency at the front we do not know who is behind them. Since TL has been on Sky I have been more confident they will win, i dont know why but there is something that makes me belive it will happen with them.

I will support the club whoever is in charge , i wouldnt be happy if RL was behind any consortium and that would make me have to make my hardest decision but I wish for the club to be saved, period
