modern matron Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 According to Rob Casey from Southamptonfansonline web page. http://www.fansonline.net/southampton/article.php?id=715 Any truth in this
70's Mike Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 if there is Pinnacle might as well pull out now because there can be no guarntees in football
Burger Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 made me laugh.....can see Pinnacle in discussions with FL "not only do we require the 10 point deduction to be removed, but need your guarantee on immediate promotion.....or we walk".
qwertySFC Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 I thought they had a 5 year plan back to the PL, no foundation what so ever to this about instant promotion , no source of information..talk about a bit of Jackanory
CLOTH EARS Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 reads like a bit of pr from the mj camp. bingo!!!
Fan The Flames Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 What a load of bull****, looks like that site has been fed a tiddler by someone and has been caught hook, line and sinker. ******s. Do people really think putting the words 'someone close to the deal' allows them to talk this type of bull****. It doesn't even add up, how would underinvestment by MJ group be preferrable, monkeys with typewriters.
Matthew Le God Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 monkeys with typewriters. Peter Reid behind it?
qwertySFC Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Reads like a bit of PR from the MJ camp. However I did hear that the Pinnical bid is conditional only on the basis that pictures of Trains are to be hung in every corridor / room of SMS , the FL are holding out on this due to ground health and safety regulations
sotonist Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 That site has been publishing bull**** since day one of the pinnacle bid. I hadn't linked it with MJ, though that might be an astute observation. I just thought they were trying to build up their readership by publishing as many articles about any old crap as they could while interest is high in general.
Wade Garrett Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 This Casey has about as much credibility as Marc Jackson.
Pancake Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 TBF, I thought the article made sense. if you are Mr X and want to get some return on your money quickly in the fickle world for football, you want to get the team up to the Premiership as quickly as possible, and back to the CCC level as soon as. 2 years in League One is not a financially viable option for someone that wants to make money; and lets face it, we are not being purchased by someone who is doing it for the love of teh club, they are buying as for the potential to make money.

qwertySFC Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Fixed it for you. Yes looks much better .....Thanks
Fan The Flames Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 A sauce close to the dill told me that Pinnacle want to be allowed to rejoin the Premiership this year and are demanding the the FL swap us for Burnley. If it doesn't happen they will walk.
batterseasaint Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 LOL! That did make me laugh! It reads like a party political broadcast for Jackson and co. I think we're all starting to see clearly what Matty means about outside influences trying to scupper the Pinnacle deal. LLS, just shut the **** up. If you had the best interests of the club at heart and you had an ounce of professionalism in that brain of yours, you would spend your time trying to conclude your own deal rather than upset others' by talking about their bids to the press and other cheap PR outlets.
gordonToo Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 What's in it for MJ to run a story like this? The only impact it has is on the remaining few true Pinnacle believers. For me the claim seems consistent with the facts and will only be dispelled if and when the deal is closed. Which has to be today surely if what credibility Pinnacle has left is to be retained.
sidthesquid Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Who they are I have no idea, but Fansonline has been wildly pro Jackson, anti Pinnacle throughout. It's quite interesting to read the other side's views, but I no longer take any of it seriously

It is easy to assume that we will be sold as soon as we get into the premiership, so the bones of the story is there, but the flesh is all worng. There won't buy with out the 10 points being dropped, they will walk if we don't get promoted in year 1, only viable if we only spend 2 years in the champ. Therefore the underinvestment and slow burner of MJ will be preferrable, give me a break.

What credibility have Pinnacle lost then. Why not wait for all the facts to be reveal before you start rating their credibility.
itchen Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Who is Rob Casey? Should I care that he "for one, would be glad of it"? Anyway, if Pinnacle are negotiating our restoration to the Championship they need to play hardball. All other teams should be directed to concede all their games against us until we have an unbeatable points tally. If Lynam is not demanding this then clearly he is not the man that many thought he was. I bet Salz would have sorted it.

TBF the amount of investment needed to get us into the Premiership is way beyond the cost of 2 years in League 1. Promotion from the Championship proved beyond us with significant investment, that league will continue to be more and more difficult to achieve promotion from. The article is scaremongering, nothing more.

Or you could say that Jackson's consortium don't have the money and are softening the blow when they would eventually have to show their hand.. Jackson couldn't organise the buying of Bournemouth ffs... I found the piece a biassed piece of crap, unsubtly trying to paint a simplified picture of things. Good bid, bad bid...
rallyboy Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 is this the same site that incorrectly told us catergorically that the deal was all over a while back, for no apparent reason other than to worry fans? Most odd to alienate your only audience..... Did read their site once, won't bother again.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Reads like a bit of PR from the MJ camp. Just read the article and that was my immediate impression. Anyone investing their money in football knows there are no cast iron guarantees. I really am concerned that MJ and whoever are going to bring more of the same old same old to the table and this club could find itself in L2 next season (2010/11) and probably in administration, awaiting another purchase.
saints_is_the_south Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Would be good if TL could confirm whether this is the case or not as i always thought it was a 5 year plan back to the prem, this indicates a 3 year plan.

But that doesn't mean that pinnacle's support for the club going forward depends on us getting promotion next year. The tone of the article is such that we are supposed to believe pinnacle is going to pull out after one year if we don't get promoted (which would mean at least a years delay in their 5-year plan). I don't believe that for one second, besides that I think getting us out of this division ASAP is in the interest of the long-term future of the club. If we stay in the lower leagues to long then more young kids in the area will grow up to be Manu/Arsenal/Chelski/etc. supporters. The only thing the writer of that article has gotten right is that pinnacle are indeed making a fuss of the 10 point penalty because they want promotion next year. The rest of the article is conjecture based on absolutely nothing.

Scummer Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 The painting of the Sisteen Chapel Should have used Dulux. Those paint pod things are supposed to be good, get it done in no time.
stevegrant Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 I might as well write an article on the main site here saying that Jackson's bid is based entirely on asset-stripping the club. The article would be based on about as many facts, i.e. none (known) whatsoever.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 The painting of the Sisteen Chapel Where is this chapel? Is it modelled on The Vatican City's Sistine Chapel? Or is sisteen a corruption of sixteen? Which, when counting, is not far from nineteen. Which leads me to ask of the whereabouts of one of our more esteemed WUMs?

There is no doubt that the current impasse with the FL is at the behest of the main man, so from that side, it does fit in. But we have not heard one squeak previously from the main man so why should this change now? What would fit in is the involvement of Crouch and Lynham for the main man to back the deal. Maybe the main man has not released a penny as yet until conditions promised are met? Even if you are a fan of Crouch, what can he actually bring to the deal which any mega monger would want? Certainly not going to be his analytical skills and diplomacy for dealing with the FL as we have already witnessed. His only value would be the small amount of finance he can bring in the beginning for setting the whole deal up, I can see of no other need. The question I would like to know is how much money has the main man committed to this point? Because if Crouch and Lynham have bank rolled everything to date, then that it is very worrying.

bungle Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Nothing new to say then ? I don't pretend to know anything about the takeover, or adminstration. Something will happen - I can't affect it in anyway, so I will just shut up and see what happens. I am a football fan because I like going to the games and watching the football. That is what it is all about. You are not a football fan, because you call people who go to games "idiots" and just make stuff up to suit whatever agenda you want to push this week.

You change it to suit your mood. - Administration is great. - Administration is crap. - I want Mark Fry's babies - Mark Fry is pathetic - Hurrah, Mark Fry is a legend, Pinnacle are here, I told you admin was great - Pinnacle are rubbish, get on with it, why has it taken them more than 6 minutes 32 seconds to conclude a deal - Pinnacle are great - What is going on, everything is a mess. You just make stuff up. You are a joke.
rudi-skacel Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 i wish pinnacle would have not even bothered as this seems to be turning into a complete and utter farce,we are no further forward now than when we first went into admin, pinnacle and jackson should f... off and give the swiss lot a chance, cos with pinnacle "NO DEAL"maybe the swiss actually want to buy the club.
