"Everything is progressing as planned" and "Next stage is that we complete the deal" is positive indeed.

He seems like a really decent bloke, and I just hope Pinnacle can complete the deal as quick as possible.

Posted

Thought he came across well and particularly liked the human touch - in that he cared about the impact of all this on the players and staff and wanted to put their minds at rest (as best he could).

I just hope the frustration of some that the deal is taking so long doesnt turn to animosity against the pinnacle group as Tony sounds like a very astute man.

Lets have some good news on this edition of "Take over Friday"

who else is to blame?

Without knowing any facts I wouldn’t know, but any animosity towards a consortium trying to save our football club (succeed or fail) is grossly misdirected IMHO

i can see your point mate, but it is going on and on and on and time is very precious, the time they spend 'dilly dallying' could be enough to kill the club

Is he Irish?
He is indeed Oirish. When I first heard him speak (when the Pinnacle thing first came to light) I posted on here that he had a broad Hampshire accent, so either I am a deaf **** or it was his partner......please don't offer your opinion on which you think it is - I can guess.

Im as frustrated as any mate, I really am. I just have a good feeling about this friday so here's hoping :-)

Slight technicality.......

He said that the players are southampton football club.

ERROR.

The fans are southampton football club!

Other than that, TL came across very well.

He obviously has more than one foot in the door; statements on OS, meetings with players at Staplewood.

It all seems positive still.

I think that the negativity that is starting to creep in on this forum is attributable to the amount of time it is taking to clear up the FL sticking points.

This isnt a dig, but my word am i sick of hearing about 'this friday' or 'monday', how about today now!

it is turning into a complete farce now, typical saints really!

Tony seems a good lad, and anything that brings Le Tiss back to the club has my full backing...please lets get this done!!!

Tottally agree mate, I wanted the deal done 3 weeks ago, I'm not ITK just got a feeling about Friday thats all... but like you I hate the fact its rolling on & on... but if there was a sweepstake, I'd pick this Friday

"As soon as I get a phone call telling me that the issues have been resolved I'll sign"

And if you don't Tony, then what? Because the FL is not going to back down.

And if another consortium offers at least what you did and pays up for this month's wages to gain exclusivity, you're out anyway.

Stop ****ing around . Either pay up or shut up. You won't beat the League. They hold all the aces, especially given the timescale. Your lawyers may well be telling you that you have a good legal case. The league's lawyers will be telling them the same. That's what lawyers do. It's how they earn their money. The best you can hope for legally is suing the FL or the administrator for your lost deposit if the deal falls through, claiming they were to blame by changing the contract details during exclusivity.

Why tf would they want eggs for breakfast? eugh. Pinnacle Out!

That was a strange thing for him to say unprompted IMHO....perhaps there's a hidden message he was trying to convey.....well worth a conspiracy theory or two....

Perhaps our mystery money man is big in chickens....?

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but, Did anyone recognise the player wearing number 29? he appears when the timer gets to 01:09 on the video.

Is that not Jeffrey Imudia? Although saying that, I thought he'd been released.

Imudia was a Hockaday 'discovery'...maybe Hockaday is back at the club in some capacity and recalled him from wherever he ended up?

Posted

Imudia was released by the club on 6th May 2009....

Anyway, less football talk...back to interviews with prospective new owners driving tractors....

Well, no, without any fans at all there's still a club as long as they have players, they don't even need a League to play in for that.

Unless all those years of people playing Saturday and Sunday Parks football were in my imagination...

...much as fans try to make themselves out as a massively important part of the process when it comes to football clubs as a business, they are just the consumer, and a strange kind of consumer at that - especially when at the very top level its faceless foreign tv corporations and bank overdrafts funding the existence of football and the people who actually go to the games barely have any financial impact at all relatively speaking.

I'm actually hoping we never get to the point where the fans will actually make a difference, cos by then we'll be in Eastleigh FC territory (with the greatest of respect to them).

Were you at the Forest game?

Because Southampton football club was not being represented by the 11 players on the park, but rather, by the 1000s of fans in the Bridgford stand...

PS. You got that Outlook fixture list sorted yet? :D

Can't be Matthews. He's into turkeys...and they don't lay eggs

Damn. Really felt that I was on to something there. I think there's something in the egg thing though! LOL

I think that day is a bit of a sore subject for The9. Cost him a few bob over the odds to get in the ground, as I recall. But he was definitely there, yes.
