harwellsaint Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 So can someone put the itinerary on here and the cost from Southampton to Carlisle by train as may be interested, was going to fly but quite happy to go by train. where do you fly to?
ladysaint Posted 9 August, 2009 Posted 9 August, 2009 Newcastle but it was too expensive so now on the train.
Torres Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 I am happy to confirm that I will be on the 08:30 from London Euston.
bungle Posted 1 September, 2009 Posted 1 September, 2009 I am happy to confirm that I will be on the 08:30 from London Euston. Hurrah!
ladysaint Posted 2 September, 2009 Posted 2 September, 2009 The closer it comes the more excited I get - have always wanted to go to Carlisle with Saints and understand tickets now on sale.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 got my carlisle tickets ,woo hoo.row cc,hope not too near the front.lets get it rockin, coyr
bungle Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 got my carlisle tickets ,woo hoo.row cc,hope not too near the front.lets get it rockin, coyr O, B******* - this means we are getting the sh1tty terrace behind the goal.
ladysaint Posted 3 September, 2009 Posted 3 September, 2009 Looking at the cost of of tickets it seems we have the covered side terrace unless they have put the prices up for our visit. If anyone finds anymore cheap train deals they can let me know as have 3 more people who want to make the trip.
rich saints Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 cant wait for this one not sure i will be smiling at 6 at the station
Griffo Posted 6 September, 2009 Posted 6 September, 2009 The side stand is seated, behind the goal is terraced. I doubt we will sell out the seating on the side. Only when you sell out the seating on the side do you get the open terracing behind the goal.
Hemel Saint Posted 7 September, 2009 Posted 7 September, 2009 Saw this web site on the Echo, for away trips. It lists the away-friendly pubs, stations, ground location etc. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/fixtures/awaymatches/ Not a bad effort. The away pubs recommended for Carlise on this site are: LAKELAND GATE BEEHIVE THE GRIFFIN anyone got any other ideas...?
saint_bert Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 Yep me and 3 others leaving soton central at 6am. Feel free to bring the bacon sarnoes anyone
TUS Posted 8 September, 2009 Posted 8 September, 2009 I went to see Yeovil there a few years back ... the Beehive is a good bet. Close to the ground, big, cheap(ish), friendly, etc.
oldsarum Posted 9 September, 2009 Posted 9 September, 2009 Looking at the cost of of tickets it seems we have the covered side terrace unless they have put the prices up for our visit. If anyone finds anymore cheap train deals they can let me know as have 3 more people who want to make the trip. Mick Strickland form London Saints may have one spare cheapish return ticket from Euston to Carlisle going on 9.30 arriving 12.45, return 17.52 Euston 21.47 His contact details are on London Saints website contacts section try him on Home Telephone number, email address is incorrect so don't use that http://www.londonsaints.com/moxie/19/lssc-contacts.shtml
ladysaint Posted 9 September, 2009 Posted 9 September, 2009 Thanks for the info oldsarum think they decided now to drive as there are 4 of them.
Michelle Posted 9 September, 2009 Posted 9 September, 2009 I went to see Yeovil there a few years back ... the Beehive is a good bet. Close to the ground, big, cheap(ish), friendly, etc. Knowing your sense of distance and dirction, this place is gonna be a good 20 minutes away from where it's been described to be - isn't that right Timmy Tour Guide? ;-)
rich saints Posted 11 September, 2009 Posted 11 September, 2009 carlisie is going to be a great day first tomorrow
stkev7 Posted 12 September, 2009 Posted 12 September, 2009 I hope the stewards aren't idiots there because most of us are going to be sh*tfaced by 3pm and might struggle to get in lol. As I'm coming from Milton Keynes I get in at 12pm but I've obviously had a shocker by booking on the 18:52 on the way back, think I could be Billy No-Mates for this. Oh well, will give me time to sleep off the booze before resuming when I get home.
Dan Posted 12 September, 2009 Posted 12 September, 2009 A mate is having a birthday do on the Friday night which is going to be a all nighter, so will have to go straight from there. If you see anyone at central at 6, looking extreamly messy before we have started or even left it will proberly be me.

Shame to have missed you whilst I was back, but the good news is they normally start winning when I leave Uk so exect a great day out
stkev7 Posted 12 September, 2009 Posted 12 September, 2009 Well since I've been out in Austria Eric we haven't won a single competitive game... Carlisle away will be the turning point!
surrey1saint Posted 13 September, 2009 Posted 13 September, 2009 I am going to go on the travel club bus

JRM Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 i notice a lot of teams ties flags up behind the goal on the empty terrace at Carlisle, if anyone has any decent st georges cross or union jack saints flags could be a good game to take it along to
saints_is_the_south Posted 14 September, 2009 Author Posted 14 September, 2009 Now getting the 5.10 greyhound coach service from Southampton to London Victoria for £1 & then the train back which when booked on advance fare to Brock costs £5.80 with a rail card. Having already got advance fare tickets from Euston to Carlisle for £18, the total cost of Southampton to Carlisle return has come to £26. Maximum w00tage!
stkev7 Posted 14 September, 2009 Posted 14 September, 2009 12 Kev? lightweight ;-) i get in at 11.10am. My return train is 18.29pm. I'll have to crack open the beer when I leave Milton Keynes early doors then to catch up. Good time heading back, we can stagger back to the station together.
northyorksaint Posted 15 September, 2009 Posted 15 September, 2009 thought you were up for the newcastle p1ss up Kev?

Block 5 Posted 16 September, 2009 Posted 16 September, 2009 Still undecided on this one. I might drive up Friday, stay a couple of nights in a hotel and head home Sunday.
ladysaint Posted 17 September, 2009 Posted 17 September, 2009 If anyone wants a day return as part of the group 4 from Soton to Euston let me know as there are 7 of us and need one more to make up two group 4's.
stkev7 Posted 17 September, 2009 Posted 17 September, 2009 thought you were up for the newcastle p1ss up Kev? Had to bottle it as getting back to Bedford on the Sunday would have proven to be an expensive and a logistical ball ache... still plenty of time for the beer to flow though.
IFHP Posted 17 September, 2009 Posted 17 September, 2009 If anyone wants a day return as part of the group 4 from Soton to Euston let me know as there are 7 of us and need one more to make up two group 4's. 3 off us going from Parkway, might be able to sort something out? not sure what time yet but it's the 8:30 from Euston.
ladysaint Posted 18 September, 2009 Posted 18 September, 2009 Keith, you may as well get one group 3 between the three of you then. We may have to get one 4 and one 3 if we cant find one other person.

didulike1t Posted 18 September, 2009 Posted 18 September, 2009 I'm planning on driving it from Coventry. If anyone fancies taking the spare seats and subbing a bit for petrol.... Hi Colin Me and my mate (38ys & 42yrs) are deffinatlely going to the game and have been tossing around the best way of getting there for a while now. If you are still with empty vehicle then i would be very interested in getting a lift with you (we will obviouasly pay for your fuel etc) please could you give me a bell on 07967589371 to discuss? We will be travell;ing from Southampton so if you are still going i guess i would be asking for you to pick us up from Coventry train station and then going from there, so i would need to know what time you would need us to be at Coventry station by in time to get to a boozer for a leomonade before the game ) Up The Saints! Regards Steve
