the scud Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Im pretty bored atm with all this waiting for the takeover so i decided to start this thread My favourite would be Jimmy Carr OR Frankie Boyle
Weston Super Saint Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Rhod Gilbert is very funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilNqh9Q3ep8
Redbul Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 There are so many.... Lately we've been digging up some old Tim Vine one liners. But you cannot whack the comedy genius of Bill Hicks. It's a tragedy he died so young, he would have had a field day with Dubya a couple of years ago. But Frankie Boyle is pure class; gotta agree with this one.
Smirking_Saint Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Frankie Boyle or Jason Byrne http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQNtW00XOWw If you get a chance to watch jason Byrne out of the box give it a shot, it's genius.
SNSUN Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 I'm a Lee Evans fan, the missus loves Peter Kay. Mustard mit I did watch his Doovde the other day and laughed. Of the new breed, I like Jason Manford off 8 out of 10 Cats, Russell Howard from Mock the Week, and currently a big fan of Michael McIntyre.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard, Peter Kay, Michael Macintyre (sp?)
sambosa75 Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Dont like Michael McIntyre. He laughs at his own jokes and looks too smug for my liking. If you watch Peter Kay once, he is the best comedian around but if you've seen him once, you've seen him 100 times as he re-cycles all his material. Ricky Gervais' delivery is brilliant but it is co-written with Jimmy Carr and I dont rate him. Just prefer the way Gervais tells them.
Pancake Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Dave Chappelle Really? God, one of the least funny "funny people" I have ever had the displeasure to watch on TV.
the stain Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Warren Mitchell as Alf Garnett - best comedy ever. It's important to be able to laugh at yourself, eh Stan? Because satire helps us learn...
Rattlehead Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Jack Dee is the best. Other notable mentions for Stewart Lee, George Carlin and Bill Hicks. Russell Brand is unbelievably unfunny as is that camp tw*t, Alan Carr. Michael McIntyre isn't that funny either.
notnowcato Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Really? God, one of the least funny "funny people" I have ever had the displeasure to watch on TV. It's all a matter of taste. Just because it floats my boat doesn't make you a bad person.
Pancake Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 It's all a matter of taste. Just because it floats my boat doesn't make you a bad person. Yes it does. Im a bad person
Marsdinho Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Rik Mayall Russell Brand Michael McIntyre Jason Manford But the Ricky Gervias / Steve Merchant / Karl Pilkington combo is my all time favourite.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Russell Brand Michael McIntyre Jason Manford But the Ricky Gervias / Steve Merchant / Karl Pilkington combo is my all time favourite. + 1 on all these.
notnowcato Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Yes it does. Im a bad person That might be the case but it is not my doing.
Big John Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Notice how there are no funny women out there, not now not ever. FACT.
Colinjb Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Billy Connelly Lee Evans And the worst: Sarah Silverman, jesus christ it was chronic.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 stewart lee Correct. Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr are **** live. One trick ponies who should stick to panel shows/hosting.
1976_Child Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Gordon Brown. Some of his budget forecasts are priceless.
TopGun Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Im pretty bored atm with all this waiting for the takeover so i decided to start this thread My favourite would be Jimmy Carr OR Frankie Boyle I like Frankie. Very infectious.
SuperMikey Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Favourites Dylan Moran Russell Brand (but only on his radio shows) Frankie Boyle (but he repeats all his Mock the Week material live and is retiring next year) Jillyanne (even though she doesn't do it intentionally) Least Favourite Andy Parsons (unfunny tw*t) Hugh Dennis (even unfunnier tw*t) Michael McIntyre (the least funny tw*t in the whole f*cking world)
Arizona Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 My favourite has to be Bill Bailey. Can't believe he hasn't even been mentioned yet. If anyone has seen his Tinselworm show, the part where he talks about having the Pink Panther tune as the national anthem, at the opening ceremony of the olympics, absolutely had me in stitches. The whole DVD is brilliant, as is Part Troll and his appearances on QI and NMTB. Also like Peter Kay, Franky Boyle, Jason Manford and Jimmy Carr. Type "Franky Boyle Diana" into youtube and watch the Mock The Week clip that comes up. As for the ones I can't stand: Alan Carr - Just so irritatingly camp it gets under my skin and they don't make water hot enough to get it off. Russell Brand - It seems a lot of women find him "funny" when what they really have in mind is some bizarre sexual fantasy. The guy is a brainless attention seeking f**kwit. Michael McIntyre - I just don't see the attraction. Some of his material is passable, but is delivery is just dreadful. Always laughing and grinning smugly at his own jokes and making a big deal out of things which just aren't funny. Jo Brand - Complete one trick pony.
CB Fry Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Warren Mitchell as Alf Garnett - best comedy ever. This is my favourite post ever on this website.
Deano6 Posted 25 June, 2009 Posted 25 June, 2009 Some appalling guesses on here so far, so I'll reveal the actual top 3: Stewart Lee Tim Minchin Daniel Kitson
