NSS Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 If "character assasination" is labelling Tony Lynam as an Irish Liverpool supporter, then I suggest he develops a thicker skin. He'll need it if he takes over at Southampton... The rest of what you say is not worth commenting on, because it's a poor attempt at "character assasination", doesn't bother me and I'm sure won't affect our friendship... :smt046
babs Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Viewed the site for a while without posting but feel frustrated enough to do so tonight! I would like to have the optimism of many on here but the delay in buying the Club seems hard to comprehend. Like most my heart says it will happen but my head says otherwise. Everyday lost means the squad is less prepared. Tony's emails have the sense of "doing the right thing" but say nothing. He seems to be stalling everyone through the "negotiations" with the FL when the worry is its a smokescreen for a lack of commitment from the moneyman. Waiving the right to appeal is not new when coming out of Admin - Luton, Bournemouth and Rotherham et al have all had to sign away the right, why do you think SFC would be treated differently? You've had 21+ days to ask the question! Tony - my confidence would be greatly increased if you answered 2 questions:- 1) Is the moneyman totally committed to buying the Club? 2) Is the moneyman committed to the purchase with -10? I fear the answer to both is no, hence the delay and at some point a withdrawal from the table with the excuse of a breakdown in negotiations with the FL. This is based on no inside knowledge but a fear for all concerned although I hope I'm proved wrong.

It's not the -10, its the possibility of starting with -25 and having no right to appeal! Speculation on the money man's motives seem a bit premature when mose do not even know who he/she is
teamsaint Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Anybody know at what point players under contract become free agents if they don't get paid?

My prediction on Mole's reaction to this post is as follows: "Hello Marc"
trousers Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Anybody know at what point players under contract become free agents if they don't get paid? Didn't they technically become free agents during that 24 hour period last month where their wages weren't paid?
teamsaint Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Didn't they technically become free agents during that 24 hour period last month where their wages weren't paid? possibly. i do know that , sadly, we have some that you couldn't give away !! (well not with their current contracts still running.) perhaps Pinnacle think we might actually be BETTER off letting all the players go, and getting rid of Rasiak, Thomas etc wages. Althugh I guess thats an automatic 400 point penalty or something.
krissyboy31 Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 Didn't they technically become free agents during that 24 hour period last month where their wages weren't paid? I would think that although, they hadn't been paid on the normal day (3 weeks in arrears and 1 week in advance) because they were for the whole month of May, technically the club had until COB on 31st May before they were in breach of contract? It all depends on the terms of the contract, I would venture.
