Minty Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Used to, but not anymore... what do you need? The actual kit to do so, or someone to do it for you?
Pancake Posted 23 June, 2009 Author Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Just some tips. Ive got an Epsom 4280 flatbed scanner with a (crap) neg holder that came with it. The scanner itself is fine, but I cant find a way to keep the negs flat whilst scanning, as the Epsom holder allows them to bend upwards so the images are really soft in the middle. Minty Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 I had a dedicated neg scanner back when i used to do it and that would be my only tip... to get a dedicated neg scanner! Never used a flatbed for it, so can't really help i'm afraid.
Pancake Posted 23 June, 2009 Author Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Cheers anyway Minty. Not keen on spunking a couple of hundred quid on a negative scanner for a bit of fun!
Minty Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Well depending on what you want to use the shots for, and how handy you are at editing, you can get neg scanners for less than £40 these days which will do a job.
Weston Super Saint Posted 23 June, 2009 Share Posted 23 June, 2009 Never done it myself. I do know my old man recently took a whole bunch of old negs to a 'professional' to get them saved onto a dvd - might work out cheaper :smt102
Hamilton Saint Posted 24 June, 2009 Share Posted 24 June, 2009 I have a Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV scanner. It scans 35 mm negatives and 35 mm transparencies (slides). You can choose different resolutions - which create files of different sizes. It does an excellent job.

Pancake Posted 30 June, 2009 Author Share Posted 30 June, 2009 Thanks Al. Ive actually managed to improve the neg holder that came with the Epson with some glass.
