for_heaven's_Saint Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Sorry if this is already elsewhere but couldn't see it; Saints playing QPR away preseason. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1698918,00.html
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Whoopeee doo! Oi, saintsfc.co.uk, no-one cares at the moment. Please tell us of inane 'non-news' when the takeover is complete!
Andy_Porter Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Will prob go to that one, £10 for ticket and £16 train isn't bad at all.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 23 June, 2009 Author Posted 23 June, 2009 Will prob go to that one, £10 for ticket and £16 train isn't bad at all. Yeah might go too
Bourno Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Discount for season ticket holders....2008/9 or 2009/10?
sambosa75 Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Great news! I live about a 20 minute walk away from Loftus Road!
Hatch Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 I'll probably be invited by Naomi Campbell or kate Moss or some other supermodel
Thedelldays Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 i have just wet myself at this news - how exciting
Mole Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 £15 for a bloody nothing pre-season friendly. Football has gone past the point of no return. Disgusting.
tpbury Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 (edited) I assume this is the forum team we're talking about, they're the only ones guaranteed to be playing next season. Edited 23 June, 2009 by tpbury rare splng mitsake
SaintDonkey Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Perfect timing. The announcement coincided with me pondering what to get my QPR supporting God Daughter for her birthday. I'm not sure her parents would be to happy with me proposing to take her to the away end though - she's only one
bungle Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Not often clubs play an away friendly at a side in the league above. Are we QPR's glamour friendly?! Can't go anyway.
kpturner Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Presumably in order to make the pre-season friendly arrangements somebody must be underwriting the cost - especially the home game with Ajax? Either covered by the Pinnacle deposit or are they paying more.....or is it LC?
Matthew Le God Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Can't imagine the QPR fans being too excited at the prospect of a home friendly against a League One side. The away end may outnumber the home end
Mole Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Bournemouth at St Marys would have been more appealling than Ajax.

Um Bongo Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Amazed at the prices for friendlies these days. Are the people that set the prices that thick? It'll be mostly empty. Sell tickets for a fiver and you might get a decent crowd. It's a nothing game ffs, a training exercise. This is QPR we are talking about, the people who charge £600 for a season ticket. That is of their cheapest as well!
Flyer Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 This is QPR we are talking about, the people who charge £600 for a season ticket. That is of their cheapest as well! Not quite, they are £440 to £585 now. Can't imagine the QPR fans being too excited at the prospect of a home friendly against a League One side. The away end may outnumber the home end You might well be right, we are having a credit card system installed and this will be the 1st and only test before the season starts. We had to get a home game in against someone but this is the 1st time ever Ive seen a team at home to a lower league side. Believe it or not, Saints are the best team we will face in pre season!
Hatch Posted 23 June, 2009 Posted 23 June, 2009 Believe it or not, Saints are the best team we will face in pre season! Christ!! Are your other games against the Shepherds Bush Womens Institute and the Ex-Service Paraplegic 11?
Flyer Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Christ!! Are your other games against the Shepherds Bush Womens Institute and the Ex-Service Paraplegic 11? Actually, Wycombe away is the toughest, I thought they were in L2. We turned down Parma to have this fixture, believe it or not. I think Lowe must secretly be our chairman now.

I think Lowe must secretly be our chairman now. Parma will probably want paying and bring zero fans. We have at least 300 mugs willing to pay £15 for a friendly
This Charming Man Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 I got all excited when I saw the title in the news section - I thought they meant Glasgow Rangers, how dissapointed I was when I opened the article.
stevegrant Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Not often clubs play an away friendly at a side in the league above. Are we QPR's glamour friendly?! Looking at their other pre-season games, it looks like we are... Aldershot Town v QPR - Saturday 11th July 2009 (3.00pm) Forest Green Rovers v QPR - Tuesday 21st July 2009 (7.45pm) Oxford United v QPR - Friday 24th July 2009 (7.45pm) Wycombe Wanderers v QPR - Tuesday 28th July 2009 (7.45pm) QPR v Southampton - Saturday 1st August 2009 (3.00pm)

Viking Warrior Posted 24 June, 2009 Posted 24 June, 2009 Do QPR have a contingency plan if we go out of business? Maybe they should have played Palma as they are not guaranteed to play us in a friendly unless they know a deal is imminent.
