moon monkey Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 F*cking tabloids just love looking for the negatives. They seem to forget there are other bids waiting to take over. I can't see the Pearson thing being true, just some p*ick of a journalist sitting at his desk, thinking what to write.
Fan The Flames Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Sunday Mirror has the Pearson story on one page and then is slagging us of for wanting KK as manager on another page.
Mole Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 This story is clearly ******, but i expect it to run to 5 pages on here.
LostBoys Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Only the Mirror - Pearson is under contract at Leicester why would he come back down a division again?
Window Cleaner Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Only the Mirror - Pearson is under contract at Leicester why would he come back down a division again? It's all just a typical tabloid crock of shïte anyway.Sometimes i think they make this stuff up to take the pïss a bit more.No one seriously interested in saving the club would back down for just the 10 point deduction, that was nailed on from the 2nd April onwards.
ladysaint Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 But didnt someone say that we were in negotiations with a manager already employed by another club. I dont think this is as far fetched as some think, but that is just IMO. NP was very happy here as well and may want to prove that he can finish the job, I for one would be happy to see him return.
sussexsaint Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 The mirror - 'nuff said. How much carp have they printed about us over the last few years?
31GARRY Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 I posted that they were after Pearson a few days ago. A few ex players have mentioned it in the past few weeks.
ART Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 What short memories people have! Do we all forget the photos, or that Nigel and Leon have one of those extremely close relationships that even the Serbian warlord has no power over. What a magnificent kick in the kick for Mandarec this would be. Then again, maybe our secret buyer is one of Mandarec's side kicks with Redknapp stamped all over his forehead. I'm sure those who have been frollocking all night at Stonehedge will have seen Tony and his Pinnacle team beating drums and crying out in loud voices as the sun came over the horizon this auspicious morn.
jam Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Strangely enough someone at the pub said this to me yesterday. When I questioned why he would leave Mad Milan funded Leicester, my mate said Pearson was out of there either way... I don't believe it myself and it wouldn't have me jumping for joy but there you go.
chrisobee Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Well when the article starts with saying we are on the brink of closure it rather makes you inclined to read no further. They need to generate interest when there is little or no football going on so our situation is ideal for just that.
lordswoodsaints Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 this isnt as funny as the story i heard on friday from a pompey fan that was working in the same place as me....wait for it.................wait for it..... old arry wants to leave his spiritual home and retrun to his proper spiritual home, apparently the arab wants him back and has promised him unlimited spending power :-)
doggface Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 I would be very surprised as mlt was very critical of the appointment originally.
Badger Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 If at all true - and I doubt it is - then it might indicate that Crouch is/will be in a position of influence.
fos1 Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Have Keegan and Pearson worked together before at Newcastle ?
ladysaint Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Have Keegan and Pearson worked together before at Newcastle ? Good point not sure if they were both there at the same time though.

Viking Warrior Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 I thought it was Barclays that called time on the clubs debt and not lowe as stated by this will informed newspaper
ottery st mary Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 I thought it was Barclays that called time on the clubs debt and not lowe as stated by this will informed newspaper There was a major crunch when we went overdrawn with debts and further cheques of excessive amounts being declined by the Bank and therefore everything came to a head and the club had to be placed into administration. Someone tried to have the Bank over..
Saint_clark Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Think they got it from me, I mentioned the idea on here a couple of days ago.
FloridaMarlin Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Don't be too surprised it is a negative piece. The author, Graham Otway, is a big p****y fan. He loves to write downbeat pieces about Saints.

Tis true i think. I have heard this. However it is worth noting that KK is still in a wrangle with the geordies over his compensation payment, which needs to be sorted before he takes alternative employment. So that may be where the already emplyed manager bit comes in.
alpine_saint Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Very over-rated. What sublime arrogance. Have you forgotten he got Leicester out of this division at his first attempt ? I dont beleive the story because MLT was critical of Pearson's appointment at SMS.

alpine_saint Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 But MLT, unlike a certain Mr Lowe, would no doubt be willing to admit he was wrong. Aye, that's possible, I suppose. Not used to SFC chairman being convinced of something, sorrry..
mack rill Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 i would rather have burley Kin-ell now i know why they call you Dulldays;)
um pahars Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Very over-rated. Probably better than your hero Poortvliet though;) Bed-wetter.
yorkie Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Strange I feel as though Pearson deserved a chancve after all his efforts. He had the team playing as a team - and they didn't give up. I don't think some of the so called professionals liked his methods compared to the luvvies in charge prior to that...he was no bullsh*t type. I liked him - he was honest, dowen to earth and very eloquent when interviewed. Him and Lowe were never going to get on - he's also proved he can get out of this divison - and I think we have a better set up then Leicester! I'd have him back - he'd get the right players to get us out of this division and build a team we the fans deserve! I still have memories of the last few games of the season before last and applaudiong him and chanting his name after the Sheffield United game. The man has integrity - but whether that extends to loyalty to Leicester and Mandaric I don't know. All hyperthetical I know - but tyhe most important think for us he knows most of the players in our squad and will probably get the best out them quicker than anyone else.
Saint Richard of Woolston Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Probably better than your hero Poortvliet though;) Bed-wetter. Crikey, Steve. I thought you would be too busy waanking away over the possible return of your hero Pearson than to come on here and defend him! (Lots of funny winky things). Personally,I cannot understand why MLT has not made a beeline for Branfoot or Souness. I would just settle for having a club in a couple of days time. But Pearson would be a good call.

LOL:D Pearson's certainly not my hero (Keegan would get my legs all wobbly though), just find Moanji's continued ramblings rather amusing, particularly when put up against his support of the god awful Poortvliet. I too hope it can all be sorted out in a couple of days and as much as I would welcome Pearson back, I just don't think it would happen as he's on a bit of a roll at Leicester.
maxi_sopez Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 i hear its going to be dowie with tim flowers as assistant, obviously i cant reveal my source but its someone who head from the physio's son
NickG Posted 21 June, 2009 Author Posted 21 June, 2009 What sublime arrogance. Have you forgotten he got Leicester out of this division at his first attempt ? I dont beleive the story because MLT was critical of Pearson's appointment at SMS. it wasn't an exciting appointment due to his lack of success and experience - however things have changed - we are lower and he has now gained 18 months management experience, including a successflu last 12 months. Think MLT would view it differently now - not so much he was wrong but our expectations are lower and NP has served an apprenticeship. Would prefer some of the others discussed but happy to go with whoever MLT feels he can work with, NP would be decent appointment.
ART Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 I think a class act and possibly one of the reason's Matty was confering with Kevin Keegan would be Denis Wise. A Saint, one who desperately wanted the managers job after Harry left. He refused to kow tow to Lowe, left and went on gained fantastic experience, not only at Swindon but at Leeds in League Oner with minus 17 points. After he has had top experience working in an executive role with the likes of Keegan. He knows a good player when he sees one. Not exactly a smooth ride but one in which he fought on against northern prejudice, and will have learned one hell of a lot. Wise, for me, is just the former Saint that we need at this time.

To say I'd be happy if you were wrong would be an understatement. In any case, Keegan and Wise apparently loathe each other.
Pat from Poole Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Very over-rated. What a load of utter crap you talk, as usual. You really do know nothing about football.

When did he "refuse to kowtow to Lowe"? He applied for, but didn't get the manager's job, which went to George Burley. Wise then left because he didn't get the job. Not sure how applying for a job to someone involves "not kow towing" to them. Wise would have taken the Saints job like a shot if offered. It wasn't, he left. And of course, Keegan and Wise got on just great at their last job together, didn't they?
St_Tel49 Posted 21 June, 2009 Posted 21 June, 2009 Just three points on this 1) I'd have him back in a flash 2) He ain't coming back - why would he? 3) ..but I'd love to be wrong.
Rattlehead Posted 26 June, 2009 Posted 26 June, 2009 What a load of utter crap you talk, as usual. You really do know nothing about football. Seconded. Manji also knows nothing about music.
