I know most Saints fans are agonising about whether they'd like Matt Le Tissier or Marc Jackson to become the next Chairman of Southampton Football Club.

It's one of those evenly balanced, very hard to call, knife edge judgements.

Here's some footage to try and help you make your mind up:

Jackson http://asf.narrowstep.tv/mcp?psid=86...d=175029&fab=0

I still can't decide between the two of them....:-)

If this is the comedy awards, there's no contest.

Sadly it's worse than that though. MJ has the depressing capacity to be just as destructive as that dimwit tommac with his share-price ramping antics and fatuous pretence that he was Paul Allen's representative on earth.

We should settle it with a penalty shoot out between the two.

Respect is earned, not given...

MLT has my respect so I give him the benefit of any doubt I may have.

MJ has no respect from me as he's done absolutely nothing to earn it.

If Pinnacle miss out why should it be Jackson, why not the Swiss who allegedly have billions?

Well, I'm sure Jackson has the right intentions, but TBF if you were looking at buying a football club with your (or your consortium's) millions.....would you allow someone who obviously isn't comfortable in front of interviewers be your figurehead for the bid?

Not a personal criticism of MJ, just an observation with my business head on.

Whatever happens, at least MJ has made an effort...however my goodwill goes out the window if he's representing anyone prepared to let Lowe et al play with the train set again...

Which is my suspicion.

I think you'll find that the MJ link was removed some weeks ago. Perhaps his current backers saw it and were unhappy with the way it portrayed thier frontman - I know that I would have been.

I've made some edits to make your post more accurate.

No matter what you think of MJ, it is quite evident that he does have some kind of 'backing'. He would not attract the sort of media interest that he does (has) if he had no contacts or backing whatsoever. Mark Fry would not have entertained him for one second had he not proved a certain level of competence within his bid - whether he was used as a tool to lever bidders better suited - who knows?

I too, personally think that he is way out of his depth - but I don't think that he 'imagined' everything.

One other point - remember - not too long ago, before the Pinnacle bid came to the fore - there were quite a few people on this board showing support and gratitude for his efforts.

its not clear he has backing -when it came to it he couldn't come up with the goods for Bournemouth nor for the deposit for saints.

Its like a Man United fan having to choose between Eric Cantona and Massimo Taibi?

Or a Saints fan having to choose between MLT and Bradley Wright Phillips.

I wonder how many Man Utd fans down here would know who Massimo Taibi is. Or Eric Cantona. My Man Utd supporting mate thought Old Trafford was in Liverpool!

Do you mean JM rather than MJ - he's dyslexic as hell you know!

No offence to you chaps who can't write and all that, but I think he thinks he's really trying to buy 'Southend Town' , a team in an even lower league than us... they exist honest!

I'm sure he's a role model for everyone with dyslexia. It just goes to show that with grit and determiniation anyone can be a photocopier salesman.
