What are peoples favourite musicals and why?

O.K. I`ll start.

Les Mis - Everything about it brilliant. Music, staging, atmosphere. Never ever get fed up with it.

 

Ragtime - Much under-rated. Deserves to be performed more often.

 

Showboat -Nearly 90 years old. Absolute quality.

 

Miss Saigon - Very moving.

 

Billy Elliott - Not twee, Staggering performance from young kids.

 

Lord of the Rings - Saw this just before it closed. Unbelievable staging.

 

The modern musical is a much under-rated and much maligned medium, mostly by those who haven`t seen them.
